Is G1 Red Bumblebee more valuable than yellow Bumblee?
I'm thinking, maybe not. They would have been produced in equal numbers in the first year (Hasbro confirmed that the two BBs, CJs and single BJ were to pad out the first year), but only the yellow one in the second year, would make it more common. Plus, BB was produced in the late 80s during the Chinese release of TFs, which we got in Australia in the early 90s.
So my thinking is, that even though the red one should be rarer, it would be in less demand to collectors, whom most would only want the yellow one. I actually acquired 2 red BBs before a yellow one, and before I eventually got a CJ. In todays TFs toyline, the red BB and yellow CJ would be given a prefix name (like Fireblast BB, or Flaming CJ) to differentiate their alternate colours, but back in the day with the new toyline, it wasn't considered necessary.
As such, they are only really considered worth getting to completist collectors. Anyone else who collects TFs, especially show-character collectors, wouldn't be interested in them, so the value *should* be less.
They make for good temporary substitutes (I had the red BB as CJ for quite a few years), but beyond that, I'm not sure if any non-completists have any interest in them.
I want to get a red one more then a yellow one, i need both.
Nah he's worth about the same as the yellow one, Digger. Rarer but the demand is lower. Now, a Blue Bumblebee (yes, they do exist) would be worth a buttload!

Mexican Blue Bumblebee on the left: "worth a buttload". American Blue Glyph on the right: not of sufficient worth to load a butt.
I was referring to the non-Mexican Blue Bumblebee actually. Should I be able to see pics there, J?
Btw, why would Hasbro create a blue BB? I'm not aware of any color-shifting BB on any of the TF storyline... unless it happen on the comic series(?).
Some have turned up outside Mexico (ie with the regular mould imprints), but I suspect they're from the Netherlands. Or possibly Finland.
Oooh can someone please tell me the difference between Super God Masterforce and Victory cartoon DVDs? I'm planning to get either one first because it's about $50 bucks a set.
Erm, one contains Masterforce and the other contains Victory (and possible the Zone OVA too). Chronologically Masterforce comes first, so if you've never seen them before I would recommend getting that before Victory.
Not much help there Goktimus...
Masterforce features the Pretenders, Power(God)Masters, and second year Headmasters as the main characters. It has a more human focus (the Powermasters and Headmasters are humans that merge with transforming vehicles) but is still considered one of the best TF Anime series. I've not watched it all but I think it's great from what I've seen.
Victory features mostly Japanese-only toys and combiners are a big part of it. I believe some of the Micromasters might get a look in too but I'm not sure. I've not watched it yet.
It's a shorter series too if i recall correctly, so Masterforce is better value. Victory does include the Zone story which is primarily focused on Micromasters and is like a standalone movie.
I like Masterforce more. :)
Well the question did ask what the difference between the DVDs were so I wasn't entirely sure about the meaning of her question. Had she just said "What's the difference between the Masterforce and Victory cartoons?" then I would've gone into a more in-depth explanation, but the word "DVD" kinda threw me off there. :/Quote:

Victory is mostly good but there's a group of characters who are kinda goofy that some people don't like as well. Masterforce also shows the regular human characters as being the most useful in any TF animated series since they are Transformers instead of being useless bystanders. This is not so in Victory. Victory has a kick-a$$ ending fight though. :D Story-wise Zone is bollocks but it's very well animated. (^_^)
But again, chronologically Masterforce comes first so watching Victory would give you spoilers on Masterforce.
Make sure you get Headmasters first though Mel...if you haven't got it.
The Headmasters isn't that important insofar as it doesn't link to Masterforce as strongly as Masterforce links to Victory.
None of the characters from the Headmasters really appear in Masterforce, except for Chromedome who only makes a cameo appearance through a video call. There are no Headmasters spoilers in Masterforce aside from knowing that Chromedome doesn't die. Victory on the other hand does feature some characters from Masterforce and in a manner which is directly related to how Masterforce ends... so being exposed to those characters would in turn spoil the ending of Masterforce
@TheDirtyDigger: You've kinda unspoiled what Gok was trying not to spoil. :p
Even with my new slave wage paying job
i have limited funds
so before i make any rash decisiions, does anyone in the know (People with Hasbro and Takara connections) know if there will be a reissue or encore G1 Scorponok?
Does anyone psychic (However its spelt) detected a reissue thought from some Hasbro employee?
Anyone with foresight?
The bigger Encores didn't do well at Asian retails. My guess is unless Scorponok appears in a Movie (well he did... but needs to be much cooler and a more prominent major character), HasTak might not consider making such a big toy that will likely shelf-warm and sell below profit.
COME ON FORT MAX ENCORE!!!!111!1!!!!!!!
That's very disappointing news. I had suspected as much but had hoped that Omega Supreme and the like would sell well enough to survive the line. The smaller lines judging by eBay seem not to have had much success. It could mean the end of Encore or less Encore altogether which would be sad.
big figures has no love...that's sad. prob can get more METROPLEXes when i'm back then!! woot..Autobot cities
last time i made a big purchase, it was for a incomplete G1 metroplex. The very next frickin day, Encore Metroplex Autobot city was released:mad:
So, im really just being careful as to not waste any big amounts of money on something that will be reissued with all its accessories in about a week. After a year i might be able to get over it.
Its times like these i actually wish that the mould was missing :p
Does anyone else cringe when they hear the majority of songs while watching the original tf movie?
I don't know if this is true or not but its a common believe that the Japanese do not like large toys, and general large goods because they have very small homes and don't wish single large stuff to take up space.
phew
thought it was just me
i find, "the Touch" and "Dare" to be the most cringe worthy when im watching it in the lounge room
1 guy at school surprised me by knowing the Touch, we laughed and cringed together
The only good song is the TF theme by Lion or White Lion or whatever they are called
You ladies have no concept of cool. Go back to the 60s or whatever gutter you just got out of.
Come on sing it with me: "You got the touch! You got the power! YEAH! You got the power! When all is... "
That is so not cringeworthy.
Hey! I listen to that stuff in my car!! You heretic without poo!!! :pQuote:
