Often when I have a visitor, I have to park on the street (300 or so meters up the hill) so they can have my garage because there is no other visitor parking available. because 90% of the visitor parking is taken up by selfish jerks who live here.
This frustrates me, a lot.
My garage is situated in a long tunnel of garages underneath the apartment block where opposite is a wall. On the wall there is a "no parking sign". Several times in the last couple months someone has parked along this wall. it makes it really hard to either get in or out of the garage. If I had an old shitbox car I'd probably just run into them. but I don't.
someone was parked there for a night and most of the day on the weekend.
this morning when I go to leave the cleaner is parked underneath the no parking sign. I decided to give them a break and try to get out around them. it takes 10 or so turns and by the time I'm done i'm pretty ticked and reverse fast so I can close my garage door. In my haste I nearly run into someone else coming out of the tunnel. I get out and lose my sh*t at the cleaner and she tells me off for yelling at her, doesn't move her car and proceeds to go about her business and ignore me. there is a Loading zone marked spot less than 5 meteres away outside the tunnel.
I call my strata manager about it this morning and he tells me that unless I can give him a unit number he cannot do anything about it. if I did go to the trouble of finding a unit number for him, he would send them a letter and ask them to stop.
if it continues for months, and people still park where they are not supposed to, then a third party gets involved and they can be fined.
I really want to start breaking windscreens. It looks to me like there is no recourse or support for doing the right thing. I'm considering parking across as many spaces as I can in the visitor car park when i get home tonight. but then I'll probably get keyed.
