Just nabbed my 20th platinum trophy (Tales of Xillia) on psn.
Thanks to Paulbot, I received a figure that joins 4 others from my childhood :D - Really chuffed to have these 5 in my possession once again after SO many years. ;):)

Gotta say, I'm having so much damn fun doing medieval fighting right now. Did more training today, wife made me a tunic to wear, one of the guys is making me a belt, wife making my pants, and another fighter gave me a helmet I have to work on to make it mine. Quite cool looking too.
Picked up the spear again today, only 2nd time since first using one to see how I went, over 2 months ago. And already one of the head trainers said I have the best accuracy save for him and another head trainer. I didn't think I'd like spear, but it's actually quite fun. Might have to train on it more.
After screwing up last week on the legominifigs, picked an elf and scarecrow no probs yesterday
Not to take pleasure in another's suffering, but... kinda to take pleasure in another's suffering.. i'm pleased today because after 2+ years of trying to convince my boss to fire someone, it's finally going to happen next week.
Good news, but it's a bit bittersweet in that it took so long, and in no way signifies a change in attitude towards the speedy firing of incompetent morans instead of letting them slowly destroy the company.
2 posts in a row, this one's a big'n though!
Just completely paid off my house & land mortgage and am now 100% debt free ... if i don't count the MP Prowl postage that i owe Llamatron :D
What they said. Great to break free from such a sizeable debt. I'm still at least 20 odd years away, if I don't win lotto first lol
Thanks for the congratulations everyone :)
Reminds me of this Seinfeld standup:
I'll probably start a term deposit again, nice and low risk :DQuote:
I’m not an investor. People always tell me, you should have your money working for you. I’ve decided I’ll do the work. I’m gonna let the money relax. You know what I mean? ‘Cause you send your money out there – working for you – a lot of times, it gets fired. You go back there, “What happened? I had my money. It was here, it was working for me.” “Yeah, I remember your money. Showing up late. Taking time off. We had to let him go.
He walks.
He stalks.
"Viewer, beware, you're in for a scare!" :D
Hehe. :D
Sadly, no, I don't have the entire 62 novel run as I only ever owned a handful and they were kindly donated to the local Vinnies when I entered High School - Unbeknownst to me by my parents. :(
(I also tended to borrow many from a mate who between he & his elder Brother had the whole lot ;):))
A key draw for me with the series was T. Jacobus' utterly stunning artwork for the covers, they gave such a brilliant mental base-line for what to picture in your mind's eye (Especially to an 8-12y/o ;)) and if said covers were ever to be released in some type of 'Print' form? - I'd collect the lot in a heartbeat.
My favourite story? - Easily the "Night of The Living Dummy" series, specifically parts I, II & III as I never caught any of the subsequent entries (By which time I was in High School + I think they took place in a splinter line of Goosebumps books :o), the subject matter & lead character Slappy (The happy chap adorning my Avatar & Sig :D) have stuck in my memory for many years although admittedly the actual stories have heavily faded...
That's why I picked these up a couple of weeks ago! :D

There were many other stories of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps that I liked, but these were the "Winners" and are a very key reason as to why this is one of my most favourite films. ;):)
My little brother had the whole set. I only ever read a few of them as they were a bit 'kiddie' for me at the time. Still, I usually enjoyed the ones I read. :)
Low risk, but also low reward. A good option for when you're still working out what you want to do, provided you are positive you can commit to the full term, otherwise it's a complete waste.
Sharemarket? Well, you shouldn't go into that without planning to invest it for a MINIMUM of 10 years.
I don't have the time or desire to learn anything about the sharemarket! But yeah, i've done term deposits before and with a decent amount in them, it's good enough for me, considering it requires no effort :)
Also depends how much money you're talking about.
But it can really pay off.
If we're talking a decent amount, then most banks offer a free first consultation with a financial planner. They can be very useful. Just ignore the product pushing.
Won a match of League Of Legends of 4v5 where I'm on the minority team and the opposition was constantly taunting me.
Oh yeah small victory big injection of happiness :)
Played Baseball yesterday morning, we only had 8 so our ninth batting position was an automatic out.
We still won the game 10-3. :D Very satisfying.
Unfortunately due to HR laws and silly modern bureaucracy, it is very difficult to fire someone if they are incompetent. It is easier to do so if they did something really bad like harassment or fraud but incompetence is not really something you can get them on. It is too much of a massive bureaucratic hassle that may proof more of a burden and risk to the manager than the 'unreliable' employee. As a result, many managers would rather suffer an incompetent or lazy employee than do something about it. My previous company was notorious for that.
I say you are lucky it's being done at all. I know of 'lifers' who have been doing a half assed job for maybe 10 years and still there.
The company i work for is pretty small and so the main reason incompetent people get to freeride for a while is due to cash flow (he was in sales and the company has the mindset "any sale's better than none", sigh) or the fact that in this case, the 'boss' is the person who has to pick up the slack of the fired individual.
They have less problems firing someone when it results in more work for everyone else, but when he has to pick up the slack? Very reluctant! In the end it seems the staff member who got the boot was just made redundant 'amicably', ie just the nicer, easier way out. However it happened though i'm glad it did! The positive effects of just losing a strain on the company is seen immediately.
Tell me about it! I remember discussing with you several years ago the pro's and con's of renting versus home owning. It didn't dawn on me until i realised how quickly we could pay off the mortgage, that that is the true benefit of going from rental to home owner. For a while we were paying more than we did while renting of course, but now i don't have to pay anything!
It's a bit daunting to be honest, i intend to keep saving so i can safely move to Japan and live the easy life one day, but knowing how quickly my savings are going to go up, already i'm eyeing up things to buy that i shouldn't be!
I wish my post was about the acquisition of TRU MP Soundwave and Acid Storm. Instead its about my chance of a promotion at work. I've been offered an interview for a managing role in my current department.:D Hope I can blitz the interview.
Goodluck!
