I was disappointed that the legs don't move forward/backward at the hip. So no walking or crouching poses.

It is slightly smaller than the Yamato 1/100. Maybe 1/112 or so...

Otherwise it's a very solid, if somewhat expensive, toy. The stress bearing joints are detented and the inner frame is diecast. It feels fragile at first but it's quite sturdy - surprisingly quite a fun toy.

Reviews so far have been positive. No breakages or loose parts. No paint to chip if there is no paint... Tampo prints are faring well too.

Has anyone built the 1/60 unpainted vf-1s? im thinking of picking it up but im not really up for a real complex build

I haven't started yet as I want to experiment with vinyl dyes to see if they give a good result first.

Does anyone have any experience with the 1/60 Yamato YF-19?

I'm wanting to get into Macross during the coming holidays and was wondering if it was worth a buy - it looks really really nice but my questions are:

1. How sturdy is it? Are we talking MP Megatron (just touch it as little as possible), MP Starscream (handle with a lot of care, but still playable)?

2. How much partsforming is involved? (massive deal breaker for me)

I find the older one is a bit floppy around the chest piece/cockpit. The only parts swapping is the engine intake covers i think.

Best off waiting for the newer one just posted by Tober to release, even though the design is slightly different.

1. The initial release was a floppy mess with minor QC problems like the gunpod not lining up quite right in fighter mode, so look for a current release. There is no lock for the battroid mode upper torso - so if you begin to tip it upside down it splits open. It's a sturdy enough toy as long as you are not rough with it.

2. None, really.

Collection DX did a 20 min review here. He pops a hand part about half way through too. :rolleyes:

Man, I want that... especially if it has speakers in its shoulders and the Sound Booster add-on.

Ordered the VF-25 DX chogokin the other day, the page says its the VF-25S (which is ozmas valk) but then it says Alto version in brackets and has photos of alto's vf-25F So i guess I dont know what i'll get until it arrives. lol
