Just wanted to point out that atrocities and acts of terrorism carried out in the name of Christianity and other religions still happen today, such as the Lord's Resistance Army. Extreme religious stupidity isn't something that remains unique to Islam. And ISIL is about as representative of Muslims as the LRA is representative of Christians.
I'm glad you mentioned individuality because individualist religion poses a threat to the iron fisted tyranny that can be found within organised religion. Sadly, ISIL is very good at practicing iron fisted tyranny and thus stamping out individuality.:(Quote:

While I don't think anyone here is worried about offending terrorists, we may have Muslim members who would not wish to have their religion insulted or put under the microscope and we all have to respect that.
I inadvertently insulted the faith of a Christian member when I was a Newbie here and I ended up apologising as I realised this wasn't the forum to question their beliefs. If we are all going to discuss this topic, let's keep it about what happened in France like Griffin, Trent and Kup have been doing and not let it stray to the wider topic of comparative religion.
BTW, I'm not having a go at you ShocknWave, just don't want you to fall into the same trap I did. Personally as an athiest I'd be more than happy if all religion came to an end and people just accepted what science has proved in a myriad of ways over and over again. But I've met too many cool people of all different denominations over the course of my life to have a particular anger against any one group and have come to realise that even if I don't agree with how they live their lives it's not my place to tell them how they should be living, especially on a Transformers Fansite. Anyway, I'm gonna try and limit my discussions back to the topic of what happened in France and it's prob a good idea to do the same so you don't get in trouble with the Moderators :)

Who gives a shit what Christians do or don't in relations to what ISIS has done/doing. Because one group did it or does it doesn't excuse the other. This is the sort of BS that ends up causing division - Right now we have one enemy we are focusing on and that's ISIS and the extremist Muslim ideology that fuels them.Quote:
