G1 season 3 suitability for my 5 yr old

I accept that and certainly not trying to 'shield him'. I like to think I have some understanding of human development and psychological processes that we all go through in response to positive and negative events (we'll id better, it's my job! Hehe)

I already made a decision to not expose him to a beloved characters death at this time. We will go down that track later when he's ready.

I was really just after info on season 3 onwards suitability and references to said death. Thanks guys for the info helps me to steer clear of any eps not so great for him at his young age

Edit: Was checking io9 and saw this article which helps with my view. I should note though the I haven't seen the film in question. In America it got an R Rating, in Canada it got a G.

It's explained why, and one of the reasons is something that resonates with my view in general: the movie contains nudity, but it's apparently just stuff like people showering, something the Canadian board considered fine for kids to see, as it's non-sexual and a daily activity.

Really shows the stark difference in how we view certain things.

I remember going to see the South Park movie back when I was at uni. The quote from Kyles mum 'Graphic Deplorable Violence is ok, so long as nobody says any naughty words!'.

Why graphic violence is less fretted over by parents than bad language and nudity is kinda silly. If you go to the Melbourne Museum, upstairs they have in full view of the million school groups that go through there giant naked people of all walks of life on the walls because it is natural.

That said, I have been at hippy festivals wandering around naked and detoured when I've seen a child coming the other way, even when the child and their parents are naked as well so I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrite. Also I wouldn't let my children see pornography. Naked people in biology or science classes I have no issue with.

Another potential source of info would be TFWiki or Wikipedia, they should both have a pretty good synopsis of each episode to give you a good idea of what to expect.

Or is this just about being exposed to me UM? Because if so I can assure you that back in the day I was a thing of beauty to behold! :D Now a decade later of course my 6-pack has become a keg so except for the odd staff party the clothes stay on. ;)

But that's the thing about hippie festivals, for every naked person who by conventional standards is attractive, there will be one that is considered not so. The whole point is to be chilled out about it and accept that it is a natural part of life. I sit in the bath with my 10 month old son each night and we are both naked while my wife helps wash him and there is not a thing wrong with it. But, like I mentioned earlier, I am a bit of a hypocrite as when at these hippy festivals I didn't want any kids seeing my skittles and flute, no matter how many other nudey folk were about.

I did get a sense of derailment ...... But just really shut up and watched we're it went

..........and we ended up at skittles :)

My 4 year old son was watching the end of the second season of TFPrime today and he started crying and became distressed because Bumblebee died. It was the cutest thing ever.

So to console him, I told him it's okay, he comes back to life.

Of course, shortly after, Megatron gets killed. So the tears came again. So then I had to explain that he had to be stopped because he kept hurting people.

Maybe that series is a bit grown up for him yet...
