Well i'm happy knowing that the taxes I pay are going towards paying someone to sit on their arse all day to read and no doubt persecute someone for saying Keving Rudd is a poopoo head.
Wankers.
I can't believe this. My family came to Australia from Hong Kong because this was a place of freedom - we couldn't trust the Chinese government to keep the freedoms that Hong Kong residents had when it was still under British rule. Very disappointed in the direction this government is heading...
Media monitoring is not Chinese-style censoring of blogs.
Police raid Wikileaks.de domain owner Theodor Reppe's home over 'censorship lists'
EDIT:
Govt undeterred by blacklist leaks (Conroy basically confirms latest leak is real; he also shoots himself in the foot again)
"Ditch compulsory Net filter - it's a botch", said SAGE-AU
URL blacklist 'creep' possible: Conroy
Anyone catch Conroy on last night's Q&A on the ABC?
If you missed it, you can download it from here:

I thought the panellists were rather poor. Also, more questions -- tougher and on-the-spot ones, should have been asked.
And oh yeah, expect Conroy to start blaming the Russian mob for anything that goes wrong. :p
Btw, Conroy's Q&A notes was leaked!

EDIT: Someone who was in the Q&A audience last night posted his/her experience about being there:

Before, Conroy was saying the filter will stop child porn, now he's saying it won't.
http://www.news.com.au/technology/st...014239,00.html
He's been doing a lot of serious backflipping and excuse-making in the last couple of weeks now that he and ACMA have been found out and suffered one embarassment after another.
Conroy just keeps getting himself deeper and deeper. He can never keep his stories straight; he keeps getting caught out every day, yet is keen to make a fool of himself.
Conroy will be on tomorrow night's episode of "Insight" on SBS at 7:30pm. The episode's being filmed tonight, so I hope to have some idea later this evening as to how things went.
Others who will be on the show include Mark Newton (the Internode employee who Conroy tried to silence), an Australian Christian Lobby rep (the ACL support the filter, the uneducated idiots), Bernadette McMenamin (she supports the filter too, and has straight out said opponents of the filter support child pornography!), a retired Victorian police officer, Tom Wood (the guy who bypassed the NetAlert filter), an 8 year old kid, a couple who love porn, and Colin Jacobs of Electronic Frontiers Australia (who are against the filter).
Wonder what Conroy's gonna spew next. He'll probably start blaming other mobs for the problems with ACMA's blacklist, like he blamed the Russian mob during Q&A last week.
