Having a server in the USA does not make your business prone to US law. At best, a US company could have filed a court order asking for the hosting company to take down the site. Obviously, this did not happen. To assume that this phone call caused some international pressure, especially in such a short period of time, is (IMO): silly.

KOToys online store being hosted in the US means that it was physically doing business in the US.
If that phone call either prompted Hasbro to act or gave them extra info so they could act; then Hasbro could definitely have acted, potentially even extraditing the owners to face civil charges even if they physically lived in another country.
I think it's best to drop the whole 'I called Hasbro and they shutdown KOToys' stance unless you have concrete evidence to support that your call directly cause it. Like it or not, KO Toys is still in business and appears to be closing down on their own accord which goes against the whole 'Hasbro is shutting them down' angle.

under the right circumstances, if you're stealing creative properties from a large company, they would just shut you down and impound the merch. they certainly wouldn't offered an opportunity to sell off your inventory.

Cease and desists are common enough, but in criminal copyright infringment ICE/DHS just sieze the domain name and point it to their own server.

So for those after originals on evilbay be aware that the fake stuff is now .. out there, be carefull. Unless you want the fake stuff that is... QC wise it's the same as the first batch.. itll do for me as Ill never be able to afford the originals ( unless I win the grand prize in lotto). I just wish HASTAKTOM was able to reissue these little fellas since if 3rd party people (have proven) can do it and not over the top priced at that, surely they can but as yet fails ( along with an official car Arcee)... sigh, same old HASTAKTOM I guess...

These were price ranged around same as Deluxe each which for me is reasonable... unlike say paying 50 plus bucks for those perfect effect mini NOT rumble Frenzy - those are tiny as and well just doesnt float my boat so to speak. :p
I have encore cassettes compared to the old cassettrons and the Encore ones are KOish is quality, but, i like em a lot still, so it's not like were all after super uber same as 1980s dinocassettes QC, they really should look into reissuing these since they most likely can do a lot better than these KO providers yet simply not to. Instead just more recoloured prev tapes dealing with the obscure characters... except for enemy and wingthing (which are Soundwaves') IM not too interested in Twincast's cassettes buddies on the Encore reissue of him.:(
