Ah, good point :D

I was beginning to get worried that we could only play in the Prime universe in the multiplayer as they have only been showing Movieverse things in the trailers. Good to see some Prime universe stuff in the Cullen trailer.
A question for anyone that has read The Covenant of Primus. Is the Dark Spark covered in the book and therefore canon or is it something Activision came up with for the game?
Just went to install ROTDS on Xbox One. It requires a day one patch of around 9gb. As someone that follows games I know thats not a good sign. That big of a patch means it probably doesn't have all the content on the disk. Also probably means it barely passed cert in time to make launch. Normally as a publisher you would delay a game instead of needing such a massive patch on day one, but if it's a movie tie in you can't normally move a launch date without getting hit with fine thats written into the contract.
I'm not holding high hopes for this game. Do we know if it has a multiplayer mode other than escalation? And is escalation co-op, as in split screen?
Picked up the ps3 version today with the weathered warriors dlc...... Except it won't let me redeem my code. I called eb games and tried another 2 codes and still nothing. Has anyone else had this problem??
I had a problem on my PS4 a couple of months ago, the guy at Sony's tech support line said to wait till the store got updated about 10pm AEST. It worked when I tried later that night.
Our PlayStation network is based Europe not the US or locally (rolls eyes) so it gets updated by Sony Europe when they get around to updating their network.
Got my copy today on ps4, I'm enjoying it however I thought visually it would be more impressive. And the AI keeps getting stuck in random locations which is really annoying.
I saw a Youtube gameplay video for this game and it seems they really just couldn't be stuffed putting a bit more effort into their cut scenes/levels and seems really half-arsed.
Yesterday was the official release date, the codes should have worked for the PS3 users.
If they are still not working this morning I'd suggest calling Sony on 1300 365 911.
For those wondering about the multiplayer it is Escalation mode only. A 4 player co-op "Horde Mode". Sorry no WFC death matches.
EDIT: So now that I've played some of it I'm really glad I got it from EB Games. I'll make a finally decision after I see the movie but I think I'll be taking advantage of their 7 day return policy to get my money back, this game is a crap movie tie-in, not a sequel/prequel to FOC. In fact the WFC/FOC sequences seem to be set in the movie universe which is just going to add to people confusion over what universe WFC/FOC is from.
The PS3 version is scanning at $44 at BigW!:)
I will be on the Xbox One tonight :D
Would have been on last night, but given that I have had a few late nights watching AoE I crashed, and my wife didnt wake me up like I asked her to
At $44 it's a pick up tomorrow for me. I'm on holidays w the family so I will bring my ps3 w me on holidays ;)
And it sounds WFC/FOC enough for me. With only traces of bay....
Don't pay any more than $44 for this!.....trust me.;)
I'm enjoying it, I love FoC and this so far explains a few things. I have yet to play escalation. I paid the full rrp from eb games and don't regret it.
Couldn't find it at my local kmart :(
Catalogue had it listed at $59 also? Wtf....
Cheers man :)
Heading past a big w tomorrow will pick it up there
Does the ps3 version need a big patch update? Reason I ask is we are on holidays without wifi or internet as of tomorrow . Don't want to buy an unplayable game for the 2 weeks off :p
After playing some of it I'm sure ROTDS is not canon for either the Movie Universe or the Aligned Universe (WFC, FOC and Prime are the Aligned Universe). It's a unique story and therefore should not be taken as explaining anything in previous canonical games. The previous movie tie in games are also not canon.
If you want to know more about WFC/FOC read the Covenant of Primus where there is no such thing as a Dark Spark.
Aside for story/canon stuff, is the game any good? How would it compare to the movie games for console, and the WFC/FOC games?
I'm enjoying it. It's below WfC and FoC but it's better than the Dark of the Moon game for sure.
A little bit more effort in cutscenes and extra detail in level design would have been a big improvement, but it's still enjoyable. A death match multiplayer would be great too...
The game has been noted on many sites as "the prequel to foc" this I assume refers to the "foc" sections of the game. I havnt read anything from Hasbro as of yet stating it is not (if they have said so please point me in the right direction)
Having played the game, in my opinion this stands true. Sure it may not fit like a glove but neither do the novels.
I own the covenant and I am aware there is no such thing in it. In Saying that though the covenant shouldn't be taken as the be all and end all of the aligned continuity. As Alpha Trion says at the start of the book " this volume will be an editing/arrangement of Covenant intended for a human audience, to help them learn about their galactic neighbors."
the exclusive dlc from ebgames is able to be downloaded as i just downloaded it tonight
It's basically a DOTM/FOC game hybrid. It's not good but it's not bad either.
I love some of the music. I 'Shazammed' a few tunes and bought them on itunes.
I got the game on Wednesday for PS3 and finished it last night, was rather lackluster but am getting in to escalation mode :) just wish I had some reliable partners??? (hint hint) :D
