Or maybe, if Galvatron and Scourge are done as Headmasters, they could redo Cyclonus as a Headmaster as well?
Teams always provide relief to the burden of disposable income.

What I like about Alpha Trion is he has a chest like Vector Prime (Cybertron) which is fitting considering they're both elder statesmen of the autobots.

Maybe they just needed an additional feature for the Headmaster to interact with (aside from riding the beast/vehicle in alt mode). I suppose it's a less intrusive gimmick that you can choose to ignore if you wish - unlike some of the Minicon interaction gimmicks in Armada.
True - though that's why I love my (original - not CW) Armada Megatron so much. He had so many little extra play options like grabbing claws to catch Mini-Cons, ramps for them to go up and down, flip out rocket launchers when you attached them etc. The rest of the Armada line could have taken a leaf out of Megs book - some of it was just intrusive like you say and in the end not much fun
Alpha Trion looks pretty good as its own figure, but he just doesn't evoke the character to me. Eh, colours may sway me.
Official images have leaked of Legends Rumble and Laserbeak, which both turn into those little triple-changer data pads, which have a vehicle mode as the third mode.
Both were seen at the New York Toyfair last month, but these give us a clearer look at them.

Not sure if it's an old video that's been posted as the colour on Galvatron looks terrible!
I assumed it was Alpha Trion when I saw the thumbnail. Now I'm glad I ordered the TakTom version last week.
Hey guys, don't hate. Galvatron is just indulging his fabulous side.
errrr... so Galvatron is pink now  Damn! So, looks like I'm buying the Takara version now. You've lost my money Hasbro, congrats.
Youtube version now uploaded.
As for Galvatron, either Hasbro really dropped the bomb or it's an early prototype version.
Wow, that Galvatron is bright...
I'm guessing it's just a prototype/sample. Surely there is no way Hasbro would change the colour so drastically.
[EDIT] Now, the white/grey hands on Fort Max - Hasbro definitely screwed that up.
I'm hoping Galvatron's hideous colouring is due to light/camera conditions, or it's just a test shot. Bleh.
I don't think it's the lighting or camera, because there's proper purple on various bits:

It's probably just a test shot -- we hope!
I might find out tomorrow if Hasbro has it at the Australian Toyfair.
It's way too pink.
No factionsymbol on the chest/top of the cannon either - test shot gets my vote probability-wise.
A Hasbro guy elsewhere confirmed that it's a test shot, Fort Max as well.
I like it :)
Toy Dojo has put Fortress Maximus up for pre-order -- expected release Q4 2016 and priced at US$149.99.
EDIT: Toy Dojo has said the listing was put up in error and has had it removed.

How long left till they get released I want them now!
I'm having second thoughts about Blaster. Just not sure if I can get over the whole, "But he's not a Headmaster" Gee-Wun hang up (I realise that this is completely just my own personal thing). I can accept PM Optimus Prime as a Headmaster since:
1/ Powermaster/Headmaster -- it's still binary bonding.
2/ The original G1 PM Optimus Prime was originally going to have a transformable head (transform into Roller), but the gimmick was abandoned. So it's a neat (if incidental) homage to what was intended for the G1 toy.
The lighter and dull looking grey on PM OP looks disappointing. Hopefully it'll look better than that IRL. Although it is G1 accurate, as the original PM OP had a similar shade of grey too (only Takara's Ginrai had that darker metallic grey; and Hasbro's 'reissue' was essentially just a repackaged Ginrai toy (with that ridiculous missile)).
The helmet that goes over the headmasters for Blaster looks like an actual whole head covering helmet, compared to the mask that sat in front of Galvatron's headmaster head. Prime's helmet may be similar.
If it doesn't have to compress before folding down (into a back cavity or something), you may be able to to just leave the headmaster in the helmet, and just say that's how his head folds out.
