Im actually really liking what I'm seeing in the concept art releases, unlike with AOE.
It's a shame that they're unlikely to ever be done justice in plastic form in 2017 though :(
I swear if third party Bayformers took off I'd have absolutely no money left.
It's good that they've gone back to a style similar to the 2007 movie, and not the silly running directly at you with one foot and one fist in front style.
Bumblebee art, which doesn't look much different in robot mode.
Mark Ryan (voiced Lockdown in TF4), has said that he will be back for the next one... not necessarily as Lockdown though, but you never know with the way no one seems to stay dead.
And for some reason, Hasbro have filed a trademark for Transformers in the live action movie category... which if necessary, is odd that they hadn't done it yet, some 10+ years since the first one was first announced.
So from some recent info it looks like there is definitely a king Arthur and merlin aspect, too bad for those hoping it wouldn'tbe like that!

I kind of like the, 'this is really what happened' aspect of history in movies like this, it ads some Gravitas, sort of...
It does get a little mouldy having it happen in every single film though and I can see how people would get sick of it.
on FB they showed some footage of a scene where a bunch of kids are running away from something in a building...haha it just gets better and better!

Bay is staying true to G1. What more do you people want?

;)
Well I spose they have to keep trying to tie the TFs to Earth for there to be a reason for them to stay there with squshies that keep shooting them, since apparently even Optimus can fly off into space whenever he wishes. And it's a bit like IDW with it turning out more and more of earth history and technology has resulted from numerous TF visits through the last few Millenia
That would make sense... I just had the impression from the news article that it was an application, rather than a renewal.
Catching up a little on the Movie news, as I don't follow it unless I have to post about it here.
Hot Rod's car mode (a Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4) has been seen on set during filming in England.
A new red sports car has also been seen on set, and is said to be an Autobot.
A silver Aston Martin has been seen on set, and is said to be an Autobot called Cogman. (I hope that is just its on-set codename)
And here can be seen, a collection of the other expensive cars that are likely to make up the Autobot team this time.
Stanley Tucci is confirmed to be returning for TF5, while the big name in the last week to be joining the Transformer franchise is Sir Anthony Hopkins (as a human, not a character voice).Quote:
- Barricade – 2016 Ford Mustang police car
- Bumblebee – Custom-built yellow and black 2016 Chevrolet Camaro
- Autobot Cogman – Aston Martin DB11
- Unknown Cybertronian – McLaren 570S
- Hot Rod – Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4
- Laura Haddock’s (Character’s) Citroen DS
- Hound – Mercedes Unimog military tactical vehicle
On the music side of things, one of the people who worked on the Game of Thrones score, is joining Steve Jablonsky to do the music for TF5.
Adding to the Merlin news (who is said to be played by Santiago Cabrera), someone called Liam Garrigan could end up playing King Arthur, a role in which he has played before in another TV show.
While a UK actress called Elizabeth Croft, has revealed that she has scored a role on the Transformers movie as well.
Seems to be an interesting movie.

This movie is looking appalling. I really do think they are trying to kill the transformers line.
I'd put this down to a rumour at the moment but I've heard that Transformers 5 will be shooting some scenes down in Cronulla. I'm trying get some official confirmation on this and will post when I do.
Mini-Dinobots? The Dinobots that wandered off at the end of TF4 musta had babies... or Michael Bay is trying to copy and compete with Jurassic Park.
Yes, there looks to be a part of the movie set in the second world war... so maybe one of the magical relics from Merlin becomes one of the various mystical items that Hitler tried tracking down, like the Spear of Destiny.
Transformers vs Nazis? King arthur and the holy grail? This is gold class cinema. They actually hired a team of writers to make this stuff up. I'm actually intrigued by it out of morbid curiosity.
King Arthur & Merlin, Nazis and mini-alien-robotic-dinosaurs... Friggin gold!
I smell a buttload of Oscars on the way! :D
Is there still time to make a special request for Nazi-zombies as well?
Feels like Michael Bay is trying to outdo this gag trailer from Rick and Morty.
Fingers crossed Dracula and Billy the Kid make an appearance as well
So, is this a time travel movie or are there multiple history flashbacks in this one?
Primus help us either way.
The more I see shots from filming, etc the more I shake my head. I really hope Bay and his new team of writers prove me wrong and finally make a better movie (coz lets face it you can't go much lower than AoE).
I'm guessing Optimus isn't going to be in the movie much as there is no way a truck like him could drive down a London street (much like he'd never be able to drive down a Hong Kong street so rode a dinosaur instead!).
The only good thing I've seen come out of it so far (aside from bringing back Lennox and Epps and Barricades alt-mode) is they got Steve Jablonsky back onboard. I'm hoping he'll go back to the previous movies more for his inspiration... He has done a good job with the previous soundtracks.
Some bits from the last week, including filming still taking place in England, plus some scenes shot in Paris... and that filming is still expected to go on for at least another two weeks before we head into the post-production phase that will see less info leaked, but the first trailers should be released by the end of the year.
And here are some close up photos of some of the Transformers cars, plus details from a fan who was watching the filming one day in London last week.
No wonder these Transformers movies cost so much to film, with all the jetsetting around the world Bay does for it. The latest location is Norway.
And the official facebook page has posted up a Transformers car chase being filmed on the streets of London.
There is a new facebook video from Michael Bay it seems (it is embedded in the story below, you don't need facebook to watch it). Agent Symmons is back and Hound with John goodman as well (if that wasn't confirmed already). A preview should be released later this year. They are also filming in Africa so some more jet-setting. I'm actually a bit excited for this.
Don't hurt me again Bay.
It sounds like filming has finally wrapped up, after a very long schedule, and the editing and promotional phase begins.
Filming of a medieval fighting scene, as described by one of the extras.
Some special effects filming with Mark Wahlberg.
A wrap party video was posted up by paramount.
And some minor, post-filming articles.
Isabela has shared some details about some of her parts in the movie, while the firsts of the trailers looks be out online... or at least, a featurette that looks like it might be used as a trailer.
If that isn't the first trailer to be seen in theatres, there should be one within the next month according to a report that it has just been given a classification (rating) in America.
On a related note, the TF6 "Bumblebee" movie has apparently had its script finalised, and Paramount are now shopping around for a Director... since Michael Bay is too busy with TF5, and TF6 is coming out a year later.
perhaps this is the start of sourcing a new TF director in general.
I'll be very interested to see how the look of the bumblebee movie differs with a different director at the helm.
According to Michael Bays twitter...
Trailer coming December 16 (17 here) with starwars rouge one.

Another reason to go see Rogue 1!
Some reshoots have taken place on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, off San Diego, and Paramount have again courted the Chinese market by signing up a new distribution partner, to replace the one they used for TF4.
Aparantly Transformers The Last Knight production has wraped up filming

There's multiple threads dealing with the movie and trailer. Can we combiner war them to keep things tidy?
