I opened mine last night that I got in Jan 2018. 1/3 of the way through Bags 1.
I finished mine 1 step per day.
I have made led lights for the rear and sound of the falcon when the lights come on.
Took me about 3 months to finish at a slow pace. It was a bit of a father-son project with my dad and I ended up getting him back into Lego :D
I’m now planning on building a display coffee table for it. Done some research on materials and structure. Now to actually make a start.
I am doing bits with my son. Was looking at some sort of table at the end. Possibly a Death Star dock one.
nice one winning the prize!
i am also probably going to try that vertical stand thing. mine is still sitting in the box in my wardrobe  i just have nowhere to put it once built. such a fuss getting it in the first place.
I finally had the coffee table done to display my UCS Falcon. Acrylic cover with Australian oak base. Professionally made, all up it cost about $1100. Pricey, but well worth it as a centrepiece in the living room.

And if the hit to the wallet wasn?t enough, a re-issue of the UCS Star Destroyer has been rumoured and is looking very likely: https://twitter.com/LEGO_Group/statu...010565635?s=20
Probably not, I can?t see myself switching them often enough to make the effort worthwhile :)
What an awesome way to display a worthy piece! Now to figure out where the UCS Star Destroyer will go next!
Urm, mine is IR Remote, I have even include the falcon's take off sound clip whenever the LED is turned on.
There are even options now that allow you to control LED lights from your phone via bluetooth.
Is funny, I felt this was the most pleasing toy I had, I think is more to do with accomplishment and is just satisfying.
