From the translated interview:
Judging by what's said, I'd be inclined to guess the release schedule is as follows:Quote:
Beast Wars & G1 are being released alternately since both parties are in different purchasing demographics seperated by age and so on. The release pattern has been thanks to you. We have managed to capture the age that was playing at the time of the show being broadcast and would like to keep the fever of waiting away by releasing more Beast Wars.
I want to distinguish between the 4x4 designs of Hoist and Trailbreaker in the meantime for the G1 fans, which will be troublesome.
I think Megatron and now Sunstreaker really suprised the fans & designers even!
I hope that Hoist can be realised with a few of these suprises. Alot of the masterpiece cars have come together.
We arranged the successive Masterpieces side by side the other day at a festival and they were very popular.
MP-39 Sunstreaker
MP-40 Dinobot
MP-41 Hoist
MP-42 Tigatron (should be relatively easy to do using Cheetor as a base mould)
MP-43 Trailbreaker

US$89.90 (plus confirmation of the 12000 yen RRP in the body text).
Bloody hell that's expensive! Ratchethide and Grapperno were understandable as they were physically larger toys. It'll be interesting to see what justifies this price point.
the flipping doors and light :-p
The extra parts to make it to be able to have a real world like alt and a more toon like alt.
part count wise from a visual standpoint it already does look to have more than the old lambor car bots.
also they love your money and fans has been seen happy to pay :-) ;)
I am going to agree.
Sadly, if you were not one of those who have been pissed off with the quality of MPs, you won't care and you will buy.
I mean even Megatron at RRP was really an eye opener.
And if you have Badcube's Sunserge, you really have to wonder how TT charges so high. But most will just say they paid for licensing etc.... which is true.
Lots of badcubes going cheap though :p
That is quite expensive for an MP car. I'd say some of that budget was spent on extra articulation, which I'm glad to see as a direction going forward.
Oh the early pics of Tokyo Toy Show are out and he has chromed spoiler.
Soooooo gooooooood
*drool *
Yay on chrome spoiler for Sunstreaker.
He looks like great! Looking forward to a splash of bright yellow on the shelf.
That looks very nice indeed.
Though the more I see of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker together the more I wish Hasbro hadn't mixed up their colours/toys back in the G1 days. Their personalities suit the other brother's mold so much better IMO.
Definitely digging the chrome spoiler on Sunstreak
He has a wrist tilt! How many MP's so far have a wrist tilt. Zero i think.
Liking Sunstreaker more and more, pictures really making him look great
Now the question of whether to display in bot or vehicle mode...
....And don't say buy two of them :D
Preorder up at Collectors Drift -- AU$130:

No indication based on that display, but hopefully the spoiler has swappable parts, because I actually prefer the body-coloured spoiler.
I like how they're imitating Sideswipe's shoulders. I was hoping for the red patches (even if they make no damn sense), but that's a great choice!
Sunstreaker never had red shoulders in the G1 cartoon and they're going for slavish 'toon accuracy. Although it's within the realms of possibility of including stickers for it. If TakaraTOMY don't do it then I wouldn't be surprised if Reprolabels did.
I reckon that this will be the case. I prefer the chrome spoiler, but I think it'll come with both, similar to how Grappferno comes with the chrome and unchromed grills.
It looks so pretty...
I think that the depth of the front-to-back (chest-to-backpack) is going to be a point of criticism when collectors get it in-hand, as 2D photos hide that depth a little... and Sideswipe didn't have a backpack or a fake chest - both of which are adding to the bulk of Sunstreaker.
Odd, I see an indent for the lambo-badge but nothing is on it, and what's the deal with the spoiler, is it a sticker, because there...doesn't seem to be another one nearby.
They shown the other accessories and yet no yellow spoiler.
