Yes today I final got headmaster dvd also legend movie blackout, ratchet and barricade also a scout air raid and elita-one also a voyager optimus prime I was so pissed because I got then all at titans tower he charged me $100 but I really whant e-hobby jazz gold verson but he sold him also he sold g1 takara mib streetwise so thats why I blew of all that money.
C'mon guys. Every time BenBen posts something, there's about 3 or 4 posts afterwards critiquing him. Whether right or wrong, necessary or not, it just pollutes the thread. Could we try and focus on his content rather than his delivery?

Anyway, I finally grabbed the new wave of legends from TRU. Then we also found some christmas TF shopping bags going for 50% off. And I got the IR Bumblebee from iceburn. We saw some Optimus Prime ones "hiding" in a corner for $19.99 from TRU. Also grabbed the Movie Screen Battles from iceburn cause I held them in my hands and I couldn't resist them! :rolleyes:

And finally, what most people would already have as well; Encore Ironhide and Ratchet. Gotta say I'm really disappointed at the quality.
Really? What disappoints you about their quality? Overall I'd say they're an improvement over the originals.
I heard there was bit of a chrome-rape on these ones.
Can people owning both originals and encore confirm or deny these rumours?
I ordered encore ironhide and tm beast convoy on hlj but it said the order will be taken at the 14th and that I will get an e-mail from then to comfirm.
Yeah, HLJ takes one day to confirm an order. You should get your email today. I'd say within two hours. I always get my confirmations at about 2pm Melbourne time, which if you're QLD, I think is 1pm your time.Quote:

In the instance of reissue Grapple vs. original Grapple I found the plastic quality of the original to be far better in terms of both colour and density. Original was noticably far superior to the new reissue.Quote:

I'll be doing a review on Ironhide/Ratchet when I get the e-Hobby versions so I can do the whole thing in one she-bang. But yeah, there's just as much chrome on the Encores as much as on the originals. :) You can see a shot of my original Ratchet and Ironhide with the Encores in the TF G1/Movie toy comparison thread. :)
As for original Grapple vs reissues... I only have the Hasblo reissue which is chrome and launcher mechanism raped but otherwise seems as good as the original. See dirge's review for a comparison with the Takara reissue (under 'variations').
I got the two new Encore toys today too. This is like when we all got Alternator Rodimus last year. :) It's nice to have a Ratchet who's all in one piece again.
Which is why I put in (open to debate) 'coz frankly for myself i find the "improved" formula is indeed somewhat cheap in feel when you look and touch and yes weigh the toy in your hand....there is this, less plasticky feel to them, like a little to soft and rubbery feel , i don't know how to adequately describe it. Less brittle I guess but then like a little bit above the cheap plastics of KOs, something of that sort.... hmmmm but yeah probably since the product is mass produced (in China, macau and everywhere else) that they opt for the cheapest, yet not too generic materials.... sort of quantity over quality (we've seen plenty of questionable Tfs released lacking of such I believe) to meet the demand or lack of it.Quote:

Got my first Takara Collection Series... #20 Kup, Wheelie and Recoil... I was always a big fan of Kup and stopped collecting about the time he was re-released as a Targetmaster, so it's cool to now have that version. Being my first TCS, I'm very impressed. Kup's chest is shiny, smooth metal and just has such a solid feel. The vibrant colors of him and Wheelie side by side are definitely making me love these guys. I want to have a Kup to display with my Classics as I just can't have Hot Rod without Kup... seems weird.

I also picked up Classics Devestator... although <cough>Gok</cough>, it doesn't say Classics anywhere on the packaging....
I checked this figure out at STL's and was a bit disappointed and made it a quest to get Universe Devestator (Landfill/BuildKing) instead, and while Classics Devestator still has a bit of newness to it, I think in the end I do like the Classics one better... tough call

There is something really special about picking up such an old mold (Kup) which is brand new! It's like a time-warp back to when TFs were just starting out and collections were much smaller.
I couldn't agree more. I think as it was when I was a child, this guy will quickly return to being one of my favorites.
WOW! I know some people only say C10 exists in theory. This disproves that theory. My Encore's from Transfigure toys. Can't wait to rip 'em open.
All the other figs and bits and pieces are from our old friend Junk-a-con in a private sale. He is a top bloke that sells to me at an excellent price all the time. I paid far less than what these are worth.
