TV broke yesterday. I hate buying TVs. On one hand I only want a cheap one that looks half decent. On the other hand, I'll walk into a store and see a shiny one with sharp pictures and want it.

The one that just broke was a Samsung. It lasted 7-8 years. Would by one again.
But fortunately I won't have to. Getting a hand-me-down from the mother in law. Nothing fancy but it'll do. The main purpose of the tv these days is to play the likes of The Wiggles, Hey Duggie, Teletubbies and Curious George on endless loop anyway.
There is a abckids app you know and you can use that on iPad or android tablet.
My son is already bored with most of them.
Yeah Baby! My first TV lasted soo long as a glorious CRT. It was beautiful, had great sound.
Currently, my TV after moving to Japan was bought by the wife. I love her and the screen is nice, but man LG tvs piss me off! Has all this auto picture adjust crap going on, so the brightness goes up and down depending on ambient light. Managed to turn that off.
Worst of all, it has this BS eco setting thing that would pop this huge display thingo up whenever it decided to adjust something. So there's Tets playing some awesome game, SHIT! half the screen is obscured by a message telling me my TV is now using more power.
Honestly LG, who thought that obscuring part of the picture for shit information was good idea? Never buying LG again. It was a good test for my Japanese skills though ;)
Smart TV my arse. smart-arse tv is more like it
PS, I also really liked Lost in Translation, the bit where they're filming the advert and the director is speaking for a long time in Japanese and Bill's character asked what was said, and all that was said was "to turn to the camera and smile" Ha ha ha ha! Funny
I love Bill Murray
Heh my Sony CRT is still going too, was purchased in 2005, its done a couple of thousand KM's and been dropped several times. My wife wants to upgrade but my excuse is that the Sony is working fine and there is no way in hell that the little guy will ever knock it over :D
heh SONY TVs before need no extended warranty or you will just giving them money :D
