Actually, the show does make a reference to this. In "The Agenda: Part 3" when BW Megatron first enters the Ark and looks up the G1 Transformers, he calls the Autobots "Archaic Energon guzzlers."
Is the IMAX release of RotF coming out the same time as the regular release or later?
'Cause I'm planning to go along the evening after term 2 finishes with friends to see it at IMAX.
Also on this topic, I too just watched the G2 Colour Changers commercial - the advertisement is obsessed with the idea that squirting the toys will reveal what side they're on... but that's not right, is it? I have a G2 (Autobot) Drench and he just has his Autobot sigil on a gold sticker. Then again, I've never been one to wet my toys to find out if it does anything interesting, so who knows what wonders warm water will bring.
did movie optimus look any different from the first live movie?
Does it justify me buying a tf2 toy version of him?
*Spoiler alert!!!!*
As you'll remember in TF2, the Decepticons ganged up on one of their own and ripped out their spark to revive Megatron. Which Decepticon was that? It all happened so fast, I couldn't see.
i looked around for the name as well, the sites i looked at said it was an unnamed constructicon
Let's give him a fan name! I say we call him Scorpulator!
Function: Red shirt. ;)
Strength: 2 Intelligence: 6 Speed: 1 Endurance: 3 Rank: 1 Courage: 7 Firepower: ∞
Yes, with a firepower of ∞ he could've easily vapourised those other Constructicons, but with a speed of 1 the other Constructicons easily tore him apart before he could even draw his weapon! GG!! :p
Some repaints from the Cybertron line (incidentally, all were characters from the Speed Planet) have 'GTS' after their names. What does 'GTS' mean?
Maybe it has something to do with this?
Has Transformers:Cybertron complete series come out on DVD in Oz or do we know of any plans to release it here?
A google search came up with some possible motoring terms, derived from Grand Touring or Gran Taurismo. There was a Pontiac listing of 'Grand Touring Sport', which could be an acronym badging, like you see on the backs of some cars. Perhaps the Hasbro people use it because it sounds racey.
Hasn't been released here. You'd probably have to email Madman to see if they have plans to release it, or even have the rights to release it.
Was just wondering if any of you guys knew if the nemesis prime set on robot kingdom was just for the shadow commander trailer, or inclusive of the actual figure as well?
http://www.robotkingdom.com/services...lang=us&CatID=
It seems kinda cheap for both, which is why im leaning toward thining its just for the shadow commander trailer. Just thought id ask =]
TheDirtyDigger: You can get Transformers Galaxy Force DVDs from Asian DVD stores and they actually have subtitles written in coherent English! :D
No I think if it's a loose item it should be in the description. RK are pretty informative of the state of their sale items. It looks to be both misb to me. Ask though, just to be sure.
It is both.... the Trailer alone is 90ish.... NP is 35.... You save 10 by getting both
Was Thundercracker from the first movie line ever released here?
I'm just curious since I never saw him. Also, was the G1 Movie Starscream repaint released here?
Yes, Thundercracker and Rescue Ratchet were a late Voyager assortment, still floating around for $59.95 at Myers around these parts.
G1 Starscream was also released along with G1 Jazz, both for $49.99 as TRU exclusives.
Hey I haven't been able to locate a thread with some info on the new blu-ray digitally remastered edition of the 1986 animated movie - does anyone know if it's worth the buy?
Has the sound and visual quality drastically improved? Anyone know?
It will look and sound better, but I doubt it'll be a drastic improvement.
Blu ray movies are seriously awesome on a great entertainment system, was hoping they "remastered" the 86 classic enough to justify the $35 purchase. But I suppose it is wishful thinking for a "drastic" improvement - it's 22 years old :(
I love Blu-ray as well (even if HD DVD was better /whine)
The 86 BD isn't a new remaster sadly, its just a high res dump of the 20th DVD master, so It will look better, but not as good as it could have been.
How are "points of articulation" determined? Is this just the number of transformable joints/limbs/parts ? I think I read somewhere that G1 Rodimus Prime has only 2 points of articulation, does this mean one point for each of his arms?
I think it's joints that are used for moving the body parts, but not necessarily required for the transformation. For Rodimus you have the two shoulder joints, but you probably could count his ankles and neck, as his head and feet are moveable. Even if that mobility is intended for the transformation, those joints give you the option to move/pose those limbs, albeit rather limitedly.
Maybe look on the tfwiki.net to see if they have any articles on articulation or poseability.
just wanted to know if anyone here as ever dealt with the Ebay Store "Amazing Heroes" and if they have had good or bad experiences with them?
Hello, not sure if this has been asked, but is there a reputable web site and/or article that talks about the history and relationship between the Transformer cartoons and toys (i.e. initially the toys were already there and the cartoons made use of those toys as characters, but at a later stage did the characters influence / lead to the creation of toys) ?
I hope that made sense. Thanks. :)
This is kinda general in a "bigger picture" sorta way:

Otherwise maybe Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfo..._1#Re-licenses
Comes down to what you call "reputable" tho. ;)
I can't think of any site off the top of my head, but I've seen quite a few interesting articles on the topic over the years. As a basic summary, the 1984-85 Transformers toys were existing toys (or toys already in the pipeline) that were given a coherent storyline by Hasbro. Most of the 1986 'movie' toys with the exception of Ultra Magnus were designed by Floro Dery as cartoon characters first and then turned into toys. Powermaster Optimus Prime, the Classic Pretenders and half the Action Masters were some of the first examples of existing characters turned into new toys. Most of the toys since 1986 other than the conspicuous exceptions (2007 Movie, ROTF etc) were designed as toys first. Animated seems to have been a product of Derrick Wyatt's basic designs turned into Hasbro products.
Are there any Australian release dates and/or pricing info for the Movie 'Human Alliance' toys?
Did a search, didn't find any.
Does anybody know the difference(s) between Galaxy Force Vector Prime and Cybertron Vector Prime?
At the moment it looks like August as a Kmart exclusive:
http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=4622
From TFWiki:
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Vector_Prime
Quote:
Vector Prime has some significant differences between the Takara and Hasbro releases. Takara's release uses a matte gray plastic with a lighter, burgundy-tinted brown, uses firmer plastic for his clear-blue parts, and has more intricate paint applications. Hasbro's release has a higher-contrast color scheme of white with chocolate-brown, more flexible clear-blue plastic (for safety reasons), and less-intricate paint applications.
