Looks like good nerd fun:D
Question, what is the Generations book, some sort of catalogue of TF's made? Just one issue or an annual thing?
These pics are making me wonder if I'll have to see Astrotrain in person to see if his grey is dark enough. Shame I couldn't make it, it looks like it was fun. Galvatron's looking mighty fine though.
What is the current situation on pics from the event?
The first/original Generations book was first published in 2004, and covers all of the Hasbro and Takara Gen1 and Gen2 toys, plus some unreleased items and concept drawings.
It is one of those "must have" books for Transformers Gen1 toy collectors or fans, and even though it is mostly in Japanese, there hasn't been a better book published in English... so is highly sought after.
Since 2009, a Japanese publishing company has been producing annual Generations books, of a similar style, but covering toys from the current year (or just from a few months, as some years had so many toys, there have been 2 or 3 volumes produced for that year). And some volumes will include pre-2008 toylines, so that eventually, all Transformers toylines will be included in the Generations reference book series.
(I think the Beast Era is the only one left now, and since this year is a Beast Wars anniversary, I'd be betting that the 2016 Generations book will include the Beast Era toys.)
Still most of the Unicron Triology to be covered as well as the Beast Era, although they didn't an exhaustingly thorough catalogue of mini-cons!
One mini correction Griffin to your post of photos, the Shockwave belonged to Jinto (via M-Bot) not Gekisou.
It was lighter than Henkei Astrotrain and the cartoon's grey, but definitely a nice grey IMO. Those first photos made it look a bit lighter than it was as you can see better in Lint's photos.
nice one again! :) looking forward to the report and photos.
Those pics look awesome. The more I see different shots of Astrotrain the more he grows on me with his strange yet alluring vehicular modes.
Thanks for sharing. It looks like you boys had a great time. The smiles on the faces of everyone playing with the figures is magic!
