The ROTF trailer was pretty awesome and this was somewhat intriguing if a bit of a familiar 'cliche'.
Let's hope the trailer is more indicative of the actual film unlike it's predecessor.

I really liked the trailer. It's everything a teaser should be - leaves you wanting more. It's also promising that this appears to have more of a story compared to the teaser for ROTF which was basically 30 seconds of blowing crap up.
The next trailer should be out by February; possibly airing during half-time at the Super Bowl again. That would be awesome because I take leave every year to watch the game (even though my beloved 49ers have no chance of making it :()

Interesting.
On the one hand they have kinda already used the we are not alone mankind discovers aliens/ they are among us plot in the previous movies. On the other hand this is a more toned down, mysterious teaser than ROTF, and if anything we probably need a less mindlessly ambitious film.
It is just the teaser though. So I'll wait and see swaying neither positive or negative for now.
As for the mystery robot, for all we know it's Primes long lost second cousin Bobtimus.
