My thoughts on MP-10
The truck cab certainly looks better BUT
1. I want to get a good side view and rear angle view to make sure his groin/waist section cant be seen
2.The lack of side windows is annoying for something thats supposed to be "superior"
Overall the figure looks very nice but it looks like it will transform quite similarly to MP-01. Given that the trailer is still quite basic it feels like a helluva lot of money for something that I already have.
The foldable gun doesn't bother me. From the dreamwave comics I always thought prime stored his gun in his back so I think its quite a cool feature.
I still wish they had chosen another character for MP-10. Given the price tag and the QC issues with MP Rodimus I won't be pre-ordering this. I'll hold out for reviews of the first release. I have a feeling i'll end up getting it in the end coz it is a masterpiece but what I'm really holding out for is the faint hope that they may try to make a Ultra Magnus power armour as a future MP.
I like the new cab - definitely an improvement over MP-1, and the ability to stow his gun and the mini-Spike are nice touches.
However, I already have 20th Anniversary Prime, so right now I don't feel a particularly strong desire to buy this one. I, too, will be holding out for an MP Ultra Magnus with trailer/armour.
:eek:I'm actually at a loss for words at how disappointing this whole thing has turned out to be. Eeeeasy pass right here. :rolleyes:

If rumors of the newer string of MPs are true, I may just have to start re-prioritizing my collecting and delving into MPs..
How is this different from the previous convoy/optimus MP's? Sorry for my ignorance as I've only recently purchased an MP Optimus (2004 Hasbro) and no intention of opening it.

So torn! It looks good but not better than MP-01 in every way.
The main thing holding me back though is the price.
3000Y more expensive than what MP-4 retailed for... i'm not sure that the decrease in size, any improvements & roller + spike ought to cost that much more.
I don't seem to have the hang-ups other people do over this - kinda strange really. :rolleyes:
Anyway, I've pre-ordered with Anime Export for 15400 JPY (30% off - $180 AUD). I'm sure Amiami, HLJ etc will list for similar soon.

Arghh... the more pics/vids I see of MP-10, the more I want it. He looks damn awesome. The only issue I have from the pics, is that the gun looks a tad small.
Normally I'm not that fussed over Prime, but something about this mould really calls out to me. Too bad about the price tag...
And some mention about the designer wanting to do MP bruticus? Man...hopefully that will someday come to fruition, it would be sweet...most likely better designed and the price tag would be good compared to the 3rd party stuff..

would really like to get this but way too expensive, hopefully hasbro will do a version. The news about the designers wanting to do a combiner is great news, hopefully they pull it off but as much as i like bruticus a different combiner would be better, Technobots im looking at you.

hrmm... it just hit me that if they reboot Optimus Prime (and his variants) with MP10, they may also reboot Ultra Magnus. This mold may be prepping up for the Ultra Magnus Armor????

It seems likely; on some of the photos of the back, there are more obvious than normal holes that could be used for attaching armour.
I want one. He looks awesome, I love the storable weapon and he has his trailer. Brilliant!

A renewal Convoy gives Takara a chance to address issues from the first release.
After the success of the Fansproject Magnus Upgrade set I'm sure Takara have considered the armor for a Magnus release. Only question is relative scale - how do they design the armor so he's a bit taller but not towering over Convoy and yet retain the G1 look... I'm looking forward to finding out. :)
