That Delthaindia guy tried to do a comeback but just ended up insulting himself
Thanks :) I hope JonWes understands that it's not us who are bringing back the same argument over and over.

I know... WTF was THAT?????
Well, if he doesn't than he's just as retarded as the fools who don't understand your point. And then, who cares anyway! You haven't twisted anyone's words... everyone's been twisting yours (well, except for the intelligent people who actually understand what you're saying). Anyway, I wish they'd just let it go... the real target here is Scott and is Fumbling and Stumbling Show (TM)
Bahahahahahahaha.....

Seriously though Kup... that one-liner was a classic! :D I literally laughed so loudly when I read it. It was so funny, so perfect and completely caught me by surprise!
In other news...
Scott seems to love these NEGATIVE updates every day...
I still can't quite make out if it's all 100% real, or if there's a little bit of scare-tactic BS in there. Scott may just believe that if he keeps crying out that even a 2013 Sub might not happen, people will flock to the "Add to Cart" button. I dunno...
And to top it off, on forums everywhere (including the Org) all the members are now saying the SAME stuff we've been going on about for the past week (not to mention the past few years!!). Everyone is taking pot shots at Scott and his "mis-management" (which was a dirty word yesterday  lol) and accusing him of having a giant ego and no interest in taking care of Pop, NA and 200x fans, as well as consistently making empty promises. I know it's all stuff we've said before, but it amazes me that TODAY it's perfectly acceptable to admit it for most of them. Either we've changed their minds, or they've all opened their eyes and suddenly realised Mattel+Scott are screwing them!
Well... DUH!
Wow, this guy's post takes the gold medal! Best thing I have read in a long time:

Totally sums up Scott!
The level of collective 'ill feeling' towards him has really intensified (I believe the above link you posted explains why) in the last 24 hours! The only place I can find anything remotely pro-Matty at the moment is Pixel-Dan's blog... where people are telling anyone who won't Sub or is anti-Scott to "STFU" and "get lost" if you're not a true fan. Head in sand much?
I think i need to stop going to He-Man.org. It's really starting to stress me out thinking there won't be a 2014 MOTUC line that fills the gaps after this year.
Seriously. I don't care about the bios or Toyguru and his b.s. or the Matty apologist arse kissing I just want my F****ING HE-MAN AND SHE-RA TOYS.
And I am feeling physically ill over the thought of not getting a main cast of Great Rebellion ladies! I mostly just want the characters shown in the opening sequence of the She-Ra cartoon- Y'know the group shot that happens at "Me and my friends in the Great Rebellion" mark. Oh. And Mermista. Aaaand if we're getting Netossa we need Spinnerella...And Scorpia. Ohhh...here comes that nausea again....
Actually...I like the 30th figures. I don't care about the bio for Spector to me if he looks like the He-Man universe's Deadpool, he IS The He-Man universe's Deadpool, a wisecracking, teleporting jerk that no-one really likes. Sir Lazer-Lot will be a bumbling "Dudley Do-Right" character in My Canon (TM) not ultraviolent badass from the web comic. I even like Cy-Chop's crazy-ass mishmash design. If they were crap toys, I'd call them out on being crap toys, but they're not!
I love MOTUC. Love it. I'll be with it 'til it dies and will be sad to see it go, but hopefully we still get two more years out of it. I think my best option right now is to ignore the Org and to just chill like I did this time last year.
That's fine :) Personally, I have been massively disappointed with the 30th line... except for Dreago-Man - WOW  What a figure!!
My problem is, if we miss out of characters like Ram Man (if the sub is cancelled) or Tung Lashor, Horde Troopers, or any of the PoP characters you listed before, all because Scott wasted time, slots, resources and money on figures like Chops, Lazerlot and Spector... well, than I will be one ANGRY ROBZY!
I think with the exception of Photog and Castle Grayskullman (i.e. the toy that was supposed to be made decades ago and the one that won the competition this year), the thirtieth anniversary line was sickening. Vykron, Vikor, Demo-Man, Battleground Teela, Ram Man, Green Goddess, Filmation Hordak, Mini-Comic Trap Jaw, typo Oo-lar, Zodak's flying chair, Mekaneck, Sky Sled (et alia) are all toys that could have been saved up for a thirtieth anniversary sub. Toyguru wanting to make his own toy and then justifying it by letting three other people make their toys too was just an egomaniacal misuse of resources.
Looks like they took a while to decide as I didn't post anything too bad today (or yesterday) but this is what I got from the org today:
http://kupscigar.com/MOTU/banned.jpg
It seems that I pushed the political incorrect truth about Scott's/Mattel's practices a bit too hard and perhaps the fact that I had people supporting what I was saying provoked it further so...
To the gulag with me!
:)
This kind of thing is why they shouldn't have community managers at all. Imagine if Hasbro had someone making excuses and taking full responsibility for the whole line of Transformers - now that'd be one hated individual!
Scott is not the community Manager, he is the Brand Manager. He is completely in charge of managing the Matty toy lines. He actually has a lot of control on how the line is handled, characters chosen, fiction, etc, etc hence why there is so much hatred against him given the latest debacle. It is literally his fault for mis-managing the line.
If he did not have so much control, there wouldn't be so many self indulgences in the line (which customers had to pay for). His worst crime in this indulgence is changing the so called '30th anniversary line' into a vehicle for him to release his own fan character without any regards to the history of the brand or the customers forced to buy his stupid ego figure.

Seriously, what a joke! The only thing you can take from it is that you knew it was coming... they're so predictable. The "moderhaters" (as TheFallen calls them :p) are getting bagged on just about every toy news site for being trigger-happy!
So true. Banning you for what you wrote is astonishing  Talk about 'silencing trouble makers'. It's particularly remarkable when you consider this was one of the posts made over there about you...
It's pretty rich when Pixel-Dan calls for less passionate responses from people... the guy is a human fireworks display on NYE. I've never seen anyone with so much passion except for Big Kev...Quote:
I've stayed away from the discussion forums here for several years, and I've debated back and forth recently over whether to post again. Posting in message boards such as this is generally a lost cause, but I feel compelled as of late by EtherianChronicles, Robzy, and Kup's posts. I feel that they've hit the nail on the head, and I wholeheartedly agree, except for one thing. Scott is no super fan, and I feel that he is a "toy guru" in name only.
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...se/Big-Kev.jpg
I think a lot of the Matty Apologists are frightened... not only frightened of the truth, but more terrified that other people who once supported Scott and Co are now seeing his true colours.
Maybe he's "out of control" :p But yeah, he's the guy who is responsible for everything. He's not a PR Manager or a "Fan Liason"... he's a Brand Manager who now thinks he's a celebrity in the toy world!
All he could ask yesterday was...

Yeah, unfortunately He-Man.org has become something that I can't say I like. It seems more like North Korea than a fan board.
I think I know what was the trigger point for my ban. I quoted one of Scott's recent egomaniac remarks as an example of what angers fans. Shortly after I posted that, the admin staff deleted it and I was banned.
I have a feeling that Scott has influence over them on what is 'acceptable or unacceptable' comments. Only when I directly quoted one of Scott's 'Public Relation' posts did I get hit with the ban hammer. I was more harsh before about Mattel and MOTUC management and they didn't do anything.
Now that I think about it, I have only been in trouble when I directly criticize Scott, which is kind of scary since that would mean that the board is not longer 'He-Man.org' but 'Scott-Neitlich.org'
Oh well, I hope all this is just a bad era in MOTU history and soon the fandom can go back to normal. Unfortunately I fear that the Org is forever tainted as a place for fans to freely discuss and enjoy the franchise.
Yeah i know, but it's the community manager aspect that's bringing all his brand mis-management in front of the public eye. If he had any clue at all, he'd ruin the line anonymously! I just don't know what he hopes to achieve reaching out to the fans with his bullshit, it only makes things worse.
Because as an egomaniac that actually thinks that his management is great because they are all his ideas ('and how can I be wrong, I am awesome!'). Then as a true sociopath, he will blame the fans 'lack of enthusiasm' for any failures as he can't fathom the fact that something he's done wasn't a good idea.
He is already blaming the failure to sell enough subs on just "the price increase" as the only detractor despite hundreds of people saying that there is a lot more to it than just that.
The Org's had a bad reputation for a long time, as I'm sure you know. But it has definitely gotten worse in the last 12-18 months. In fact, I stopped posting there for a year or so (except the occasional post in the Australia Thread only) because it was so hostile and moronic. But I gotta say, I've posted more there in the last week or so than I have in the last 3 years... all because of this Cluster**** of a job Scott's done with 2013 Subs. Sure, it's escalated, but he's the catalyst for all this.
The same thing happened with other lines too... Mattel loves lines that can churn out repaints and slight re-tools. God help us if they ever got their hands on TMNT. That's why they love MOTU so much - basically the same buck for most figures. They did the same with Ghostbusters and DCUC. They feel they need to stretch the line out with endless repaints and re-tools. Trouble is, after a while, people start to say "hey, I don't want all these filler figures, I want the A list characters". Case in point, we had to wait nearly a year to get 4 Ghostbusters (and they're not even a complete set - 3 are gloveless, 1 is gloved ), because they had fillers in between. We've asked for proton streams and stuff like that, but Scott says it can't be done right now. Why not??? They already exist... and it's want the customers want!! And Scott has said repeatedly that they had no intention of releasing the DCUC Superpowers Penguin, seen at SDCC a year or 2 ago... Why? Fans are demanding it!!
Too much filler in the lines has now also affected MOTUC. Customers want Ram Man, A-list PoP characters, etc... but Scott has seen characters like Chief Carnivus (which he wanted) or Mo-Larr as more important. Too much filler (trying to stretch it out for maximum $$$) has effectively killed the line... it seems to be a flaw in the Mattel model.
He's done that to several brands already... he has a track record. It's probably a lot longer than we know!
Trouble is, he really thinks he's a celebrity now. MOTUC was great while he had his ego in check, but now his rock star attitude, and dismissive behaviour has alienated too many people. And the terrible decisions he's made (yes, he's admitted he made the character choices) may leave us without important A list characters, but at least we'll have Spector, Cy-Chop, Mo-lar, Star Sisters, and the FFM.
Right now, I wish I wasn't banned so that I can set a lot of the idiots at He-Man.org straight.
There are some morons ganging up on EthernianChronicles and attacking him (her?) with a lot of stupid nonsense that only shows how mindless and stupid they really are. If I could post I would be able to take some of the heat away and put them down.
The latest Roast Gooble Podcast with Scott is so infuriating. Aside from the fact that Val and the Gang (who proclaim to be asking him the hard questions) are really just giving Scott a beating with a wet leaf of lettuce... Scott's answers are contradicting themselves. He's going around in circles, and dodging important questions by blaming "Mattel Legal"... ah yes, those pesky, faceless lawyers in the back room.
I made this to counter the original...
http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...ttySub2012.jpg
Begun listening to the Gooble. All that Scott does is blame it on the price increase. WTF? The whole board is full of people saying that is but the 'drop that spilled the glass'. There are lots of more fundamental reasons for people stepping away. I am sure if the line was competently managed, fans would be a lot more forgiving of price increases.
No one seems to be asking "the hard questions" they are just opening the gates for Scott's tired old rhetoric. It almost feels like Fox news when they are interviewing hard right Republicans, nice friendly questions that only serve as avenues for more rhetoric.
Is this carved wood? An amazing talent.
This article from Toy News International seems to also get why subs are not selling:
http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=241&itemid=18973Quote:
Start showing some actual faith in your own product: I get that you want to have a number of guaranteed sales so you reduce your chance of taking a loss, but you know what the other message you are sending with that policy is??? You don’t have faith in your own products. If you don’t have faith in your products enough to make enough stock so the figures aren’t constantly selling out then why should I have faith in it as a consumer?
Very cool!
I think it actually sums up some of the problems with Mattel's thinking... and offers some solutions. It's what many of us have been saying for years - I can only speak for myself, but I agree that the Sub Model is seriously flawed and doesn't work for MOST people. Of course, some people love it, but there are a lot of fans/customers who just "deal with it" in order to get all the figures, but that still doesn't mean the Sub actually works for them...
Before Jitsu's preorder sold out at BBTS he was 49.95. These are NOT 50 dollar toys.
*Sigh*
It's starting to make sense to me to buy a sub for 2013.
Dammit.
Sadly, of the figures shown at SDCC I couldn't give two hoots about is Fang-Man. I want Netossa, Jitsu, Ram-Man. Basically if it's Vintage MOTU or POP I want it. I liked Vikor. I liked Demo-Man and I want the 30th figures as well.
So far I've been ignoring NA because of the lack of an NA He-Man or Skeletor.
Once they're out I'll hunt down Slush-Head Flipshot and Optikk. I'm pretty much an MOTUC completist at this point.
For me, right now, looking towards next year A Sub makes sense financially.
I'll probably put some of my tax return aside to cover the costs.
Aaron Archer? ;) :D
Wow, old MOTUC is looking a bit worse for wear. I like some of the figures, but there is NO WAY I'd go for a sub, because I am not that much into MOTU.. Even with all this sub business, why do they only have the sub buying options open for a month? They are limiting their customer base immensely by the looks of things. What strange practises...
They sure are doing their best to push away any potential International subscribers:
So if you are an International customer and receive a faulty figure, they won't replace it. Nice :rolleyes:Quote:
Q: Can you please officially confirm (with direct links if possible, please) if it is accurate that subscribing to MOTUC 2013 using the cheaper "International Postal" option now means that I will NOT be eligible for replacement of defective stock, since this method is not trackable?
I already heard Toy Guru state that "lost-in-the-mail" figures will NOT be replaced if you choose this option, but is it also true that defective stock will not be replaced either?
My main problem is that I really DON'T require faster shipping and really can't afford it.
So, I need to know officially and definitively if this is the case, and if so I'd like to know when this policy actually changed, because I've always got replacements for damaged stock in the past, despite always using the cheapest international shipping method available.
I would be a real shame to be forced to use a more expensive shipping method for no reason other than to ensure that defective product will be replaced -- this hardly seems fair, since Digital River always did it in the past.
A:Correct. We can only replace product that is trackable. If you would like to be able to return product you need to use a trackable shipping method.
That's a lot of trust they are demanding from buyers. This is even more obtuse when one of the main reasons even their local guys aren't subscribing is due to chattered trust between Mattel and the customer base.
http://i0.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/..._bro_super.jpg
I am interested to know, how many people have actually had issues with not getting their figure or needing to exchange the figure?
Not to come off as Matty Apologist, but I have been a subscriber since 2009 and I have received every single figure and never needed to get a replacement. I might be in the minority with that but some how I doubt it.
Now, if this new policy of Mattel actually affected me then I am pretty sure I am covered by fraud on my credit card. If I happened to fall victim of this happening to me then I will simply go to my bank and claim an unauthorised transaction.
I think we are still pretty safe in the grand scheme of things and (I hope I am not jinxing myself) I think it will all be fine next year.
*Puts hand up*
Consider yourself fortunate.
As mentioned before, I had no real issues with that sort of thing until I subscribed for 2012 and that was my biggest mistake. I should have continued with Cherry Picking and paid the hyper inflated price for Shadow Weaver.
Also remember that more than a few subscribers were burned by Matty with Fisto forcing them to miss-out altogether. There and then they made it very clear that they had no intention to honor their 'You get every sub figure' guarantee.
That explains your anger ;)
The only problem I had is when the MOTUC/GB combo sub was offered, I bought an extra MOTUC sub with it but they didn't have the logistics to send those together so one had to be cancelled. Even though they did allow me to buy my second MOTUC sub separately I still got 3 Vikors before the cancellation went through.
All in all, with what I have seen happen to other people, I have been pretty lucky. But I am still not the minority.
I had a friend who didn't get one of his figures a year or 2 ago. Sadly, he hates MOTUC now and won't collect them. His bad customer experience means he misses out on one of the best toy lines ever made!
I also had a defective Battle Cat when it arrived... finally got a replacement sent out, but only after lots of emailing!! (thank God that was back in the day when items arrived a little quicker, not like the 5-8 weeks now, so I didn't miss the "REDUND/REPLACEMENT window")
Yeah, they tried to refund you for a Sub figure that never arrived, but said that you refused, right? Why would you refuse what you signed up for??:rolleyes:
I still can't believe that!
To be honest, I'm not overly worried about it. It's a possibility, but it's not my main beef with Matty! I just think it stinks that this is their new attitude, that's more what ticks me orf! Why replace a system that benefits customers with a system that tells customers they are SOL! Especially when their Sub numbers are so low, and they should be trying to INTICE (not repel) int customers
I am not really angry, just annoyed at how poorly ran MOTUC has been despite the years of warnings and predictions from fans that all the issues and attitudes would eventually lead to the line's demise. I find the attitude of people who don't mind being treated like trash and will even defend it a lot more disturbing.
Anyways, it doesn't keep me up at night and I am already resigned that if MOTUC dies, then so be it. Matty can spin it every way they want but those with their eyes open know what happened.
To be honest, this line was founded on repelling its customers. Remember the 50 minute sell outs that made MOTUC the hot property it was?
In truth, I think all these policies are enacted as to create controversy. Toyguru has said that any news, regardless if it is good or bad, gets people talking about the property.
