May be the same mold, but seeing it in person there are many differences from the other 2. At least they weren't just straight out repaints like the classics mold lol.

Obviously Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen have a history of remoulding (light bar/nothing/fender/spoiler), but this is the first time they've gone to such efforts for the robot modes (heads, waists, shoulders, arms, etc.) I love that they've attempted (and basically succeeded) in turning Shōhei Kohara's Prowl and Bluestreak into Floro Dery's Smokescreen model. I excitedly bought Smokescreen because of this - if it had been the same robot mode I wouldn't have touched it.
Don't joke on that as I believe it is real, same for Hasbro. It is probable that they do indeed think that movie toys are more popular purely on what is likely to be store demand. They have done this in the past where they sacrifice a steady selling line for movie toys that largely end up shelf warming.
Amazon.jp had Smokescreen retailing for more than Prowl and Streak as well. If it is cheaper somewhere, it would have been a secondary source basing their prices on collector demand.
Apparently one of Wheeljacks accessories is going to be the 'anti-hynosis' device he used in 'The Ultimate Doom' 3-parter from G1. That's kinda cool, and makes as much sense as Starscream coming with Kremzeek or Grimlock with his brain-helmet :)
Starscream came with Dr Archeville, Megs came with Kremzeek :)
A lunchbox? That's the best accessory they could come up with?
So while Wheeljack is looking good, there is no news on Bee?
That extra accessory will be an exclusive from Amazon Japan... so should be released with the Hasbro HK versions.
Also, some more prototype images are out, including the car mode now.
looking at the pic im surprised how well the robot mode size/look having it all cramped into the car mode ...
The join/gap on the chest is going to bother me if the paint apps don't hide it a little.
No sign of the wheels in bot mode. Anyone know where the wheels go?
I can only guess that the front wheels tuck and fold in the lower legs ( giving it a filling of sorts so it's not hollow) and the rear ones tuck at the back into the back torso. So far no shots of the back so Im hoping it's not a disappointing chasm of nothingness and kibble mess at the back view...
This feet first mold needs to be reconfigured for a yellow lambo.
Yes?
I just realised that I pre-ordered MP-20 & & MP-21 together, believing that both would be available in 2nd quarter this year. It looks like I won't be getting my hands on Wheeljack until the end of the year, going by how slow the press leaks are for the unconfirmed Bumblebee. :(
is appearing in hobbysearch as sold out for wheeljack. probably not even listed for pre-order yet.
I'm wondering if last year was an anomaly with how often the MP's were coming out.
Soundwave was a 2012 figure delayed to Jan 13 and his Cassettes were probably designed as part of the Soundwave project. Then we got 3 versions of the one mold in the Nissans.
With only Soundblaster and Wheeljack confirmed looks like 2 -3, maybe 4 is going to be what we get this year.
Looks wild!!
Hobby Link Japan has just posted their Preorder page for Masterpiece Wheeljack guys, ¥5,200, have at it!
Wow, that's a great preorder price! :D
Anime export has it up for 4550yen
Look at the proportion of feet compared to the rest of the robot, versus the same parts compared to the rest of the car in car mode(almost 1/4 of the car length I'd say). Great engineering to compact the rest of the robot parts in car mode!
Looks great!, I'll hopefully pre order this soon!
Hobby Search has high-res pics up from their pre-order page.
Happy I've preordered now but not happy about the Oz dollar conversion rate - with postage mine cost $89 AUD :(.
Those hi res pics are great but now I don't want to wait, I want it now!
^ That looks AWESOME
