$US300+ vs A$500 is pretty steep though.

Did you line up at footlocker for your SJs? Dplayground can reserve a pair at the time - though they've closed shop. That's where I got my first KBIV - white/black/purple.

I want the first MP Trainers and his basketball shoe. But those don't get much love in Oz and gets sold out in an hr from the phils.

I've got the generic asian look but no chinese/japanese/other asian accent.
But yeah, am proud to be one. :)

Either - but my days of collecting kicks are now over so despite them being my holy grail, I'll probably never actively seek them out (or pay more than RRP for them).

I've never lined up for kicks before - when I used to collect them and if I really wanted something, the day before launch, I would bribe one of the staff to set aside a pair in my size.

That pic was old enough that when I joined forums I preferred to be anonymous and didn't really interact w/ members.

That staff could get fired. :( It seems like $50 isn't worth it.

Hmm...what size is that? Normally 10, 10.5 and 11 sell out the quickest.

And no, that staff couldn't get fired - not when they're the Manager. ;)

I never even had to get out of the car most of the time... sit outside the Footlocker in Pitt St and would have her bring it out to me in the car :D

The 10.5 (my size) I agree, but the 11s seem to sell slowly nowadays. The 9/9.5/10.5 seem to sell out I notice.

Yeah agreed - 11s seem to be shelf warming nowadays - have feet shrunken or something? :p

Picked up a pair of AJ2010's a couple of weeks ago at the Nike outlet in a 10 (with only another pair left on the shelf) but there weren't any 10.5s (my usual size) and there were plenty of 11s still.

How do you find the free runs? I'm considering getting a pair for when I have to rehab my leg, in the hope it'll build some muscle quicker

It's the closest thing to walking around barefoot IMO - I don't go jogging, so I can't really speculate on how effective they are in building your foot/leg muscles - they are comfortable though.

Depends on which Frees you get - there's actually several types based on the stability/comfort you require in your foot. The ones I got are the Free Runs which are awesome in that they don't have a traditional separate tongue like most shoes - its like a sock which just hugs your foot for mad comfort and fit. Its also the most flexible of all the Frees. I also got the Free Trainer which provides support around the ankles (similar to hightops) but the soles, whilst being super flexible aren't quite as soft as the Free Runs. I could give you a whole essay on correct shoe types if you needed it but I can't be arsed! :p

It also depends on who you know that works there that can put stuff aside out the back for pending upcoming sales (like this one).

Another one of my mates went on Saturday and grabbed a pair of Oreo VI's that he had put on hold a week prior - set him back a whopping $50!

VP, you got to share those contacts :) I remember there were CP3 whites only pair and because it was newer release, it still price at $180 compared to the $120 for the old color releases that were on sale. They wouldn't sell it to me for the other price and the next week it was on sale but my size unfortunately was gone :(

For Melbourne, Footlocker Swanston St will be getting them on the 15th (along with the more widely available white Infrareds). Not sure about Kicks 101 on Elizabeth St.

Ah dammit. I lined up at Footlocker Swanston St a few years back. A fight broke out with some of the guys in line. After witnessing that unsavoury incident, I told my wife (girlfriend at the time) never again will I be spending the wee hours of the night lining up at Footlocker Swanston St.
