Heads up shipping is over 2,500 yen on average!
That's a bit way more than the normal under 1,000 yen I pay for each of the mp cars.
Considering to use local for this one as it is cheaper.
Tracks is up at HLJ. ¥6,000
I just keep the TF MP section bookmarked so I don't have to search.
I've never had a problem with them but I think their handling of the Takara girls was poor, they stuffed around a lot of people.

FYI, premium collect is the cheapest delivered.
Bought 3 for free shipping and split within two of my mates, so it became $69.90 each. :)
Hopefully they do not screw up with orders but I think if that happens I will hunt one elsewhere down the road.
What brought up the cost was the shipping. the stand is probably the main culprit, and sadly I don't think I be using the stand much at all.
Love the pics above btw.
I have pre ordered from Nippon-Yasan a number of times. Their shipping quote is double that of the MP cars available to buy now on their website (Eg Bluestreak and Smokescreen) and ones I have on pre order like Exhaust. Anyone had a response from them on this? I'm going to call them when they open today.
which is why I dropped NY, I was shocked, and is probably due to the stand but I can't figure a 100% increase in shipping.
If you work it out, at cheapest is $85 minimum depending on Aussie dollar.
You go premium collect now is $69.90 +$10 and with tracking. You can't go wrong. and because normally NY has the cheapest shipping options, I am confident to say AE won't be any much cheaper.
I ordered 3, making my shipping free.
He looks great. A display stand is always an excellent accessory for masterpieces. I want more stuff like that. But too bad they couldn't give him a bigger gun.
$85 shipped from Nippon Yasan using the cheapest air mail option. They are the cheapest option for me but given my recent issue with them i'm not going back. I think i might have to give this a miss given the weak AUD now and no cheaper alternative place to order him from.
EDIT: Just read your post drifand. Thanks for the tip. Will check them out.
Too right he is! :D
STL beat Drahsrebu, for a change :p, in getting the word out to Aussie Twitterers - But just look at this Suave Bastard!

I think so even I regretted not ordering my mp-10 through them.
I have emailed them and they seem to be very quick on responses too.
Is better if for those who know each other just gang up and order and get free shipping above 3 units. < you seriously wont go wrong there, I think its even the cheapest on the web.
Awesome new pictures, have certainly put to rest some of my queries (being too skinny).
And would it kill Takara Tomy's bottom line to colour in some eyes for the human figures.......
That is a very good price. But I'm not comfortable paying up front for something that's more than 6 months away from release. Not much to fall back on if something goes amiss given the delay in receiving it from paying.
I've preordered two from HLJ. Will probably come out to about 7,500 Yen each shipped, so at current exchange rate it's about $81. And the beauty is I don't have to pay anything until it's ready to be shipped.
For what it's worth I just gave Nippon-Yasan a call. They said the shipping cost is higher because it's a larger box than the other car bots. I said there is no way it's going to cost double ship. I recently pre-ordered the Unite Warriors Superion which was still slightly cheaper to ship than Tracks! I told them I've had to pre order from HLJ instead.
good feedback > regarding NY shipping
I was hesitating on ny and kept looking at shipping cost and said "no way"
My normal shipping cost for any mp car from them was as low as 700 yen-1200 yen for ems. I cannot see how a plastic stand bring the cost up by 1,500 yen increase at least.
Yes/No about HLJ or NY pay later policy. NY is better as you choose to pay when the rates are good.
The down side of hlj is you are stuck if the rates are crap by that time.
All calculated risk, its my first time ordering from premium collect.
I cannot says its guaranteed, but Tracks isn't a big deal breaker for me if they stuff up. I am taking the gamble to see how it pens out.
NY has became a bit more greedy imo, sometimes I think they should just abolish all the discount crap and offer good prices like they used to is better.
Closeup of the face from digitamin.
They also list the box size: W440×H290×D110mm compared to the other MP cars which are W210×H147×D70mm; that's considerably bigger.. the stand must be pretty big!

Gee wiz, that's going to be a huge box. Why is Takara going the way of Hasbro and oversizing the box for this car (ala Hasbro MP Prowl)? Surely the stand is not that big????
So maybe Nippon-Yasan isn't grossly overcharging here? Makes me a little concerned about my HLJ pre-order since they charge 6,000 Yen each compared to 5,380 Yen each at NY. If the shipping is the same at HLJ then it would be better off to order from NY for those that wish to import.
HLJ = Never a problem
NY = been screwed around more than once.
So I'm willing to pay a little more.
Also, I'm not a fan of the stand. But it keeps up the tradition of getting a stand with every TF that has a flight capable alt mode.
that is one nice looking transformer
Very disappointed with NY. I've pre-ordered from them numerous times and they refused to help me out when my MP UM came with a hole in the box. Which was their fault for not packing it in the box properly.
I'm also not comfortable paying upfront 6 months ahead but not willing to take a gamble with the postage cost with HLJ.
Great price from PC so i shall go with them.
Thanks for the feedback. I've got a number of Masterpiece pre orders with NY but due to the long lead time with these things I have yet to receive anything from them yet. I've found their responses to my inquiries pretty prompt and decent though.
I think I'll leave it on with HLJ. At least I can compare the service since I've never purchased anything from them either.
I transfer yen into my Paypal balance when the rates are good - to combat if they tank before release. That way by the time it comes to pay for HLJ, I'm paying in Yen directly, and at a (usually) better rate. Its still a gamble if the yen rate gets better again before release, but then I just add more to my Paypal balance anyway at the better rate. With the amount of stuff coming out this year (and future masterpieces) it's handy to have a little extra available anyway. And honestly, the way the AUD is going these days - my feeling is there's probably not going to be much in the way of major beneficial fluctuation in Yen or USD in the future.
Just out of curiosity, what's been your experience with exchange rates doing that? Whenever I pay via credit card through paypal in AUD, the exchange rates Paypal gives have been shocking, like what I'd get trying to exchange money over the counter at a bank (for example: Yen was at approx 93-94 per RBA, Paypal gave me 89).
Doing what you're doing, do you get a better exchange rate than you would on a transaction through paypal? or is it the same as what I experience above? (but you obviously get that security of having locked in your exchange rate)
Usually, I'll add funds to my AUD balance from my linked bank account and then do the currency conversion inside Paypal from my AUD balance. I've always found the rates pretty good. For example today, Paypal is converting at 89 yen to the AUD (whereas ANZ is only converting at 87 yen to buy cash over the counter.) Even though Paypal might not always be on top, their rates are usually pretty good in my experience.
The other thing is, you can't use things like the RBA website or XE to gauge foreign exchange rates. Their rates are a "market rate" which is always higher than a purchase rate. So no matter how you buy, the purchase rate will always be a little bit lower than the RBA or XE sites.
I think with credit card payments, Paypal gets 2 fees from you. The exchange rate fee (which is factored into their rate) and their credit card fee. But I'm not 100% sure on that.
So any complains from the close ups?
I am okay with it, I think my only complain is the stand brought up the shipping cost way up which I won't be using anyway.
I think it looks magnificent, as good as it could be. I'd add "within the constraints of transformation" but frankly, it looks so good that's it's as if there were no constraints. I think i'll be accepting offers on my Henkei Tracks soon :p
Ah I see. Fair enough. Not sure if this would change what you're doing (and I'm not sure if you're already across this), but from my experience 28 degrees mastercard card is very good with exchange rates (using my example above, I got 92.something when I pre-ordered Tracks through Paypal using the card, no fee involved from either company), in case there's something you want now and want a better exchange rate/save your cash reserves :)
This is what i normally use for purchases in foreign currency. It's a meant to be a travel card so one benefit is no international transaction fees and it also uses mastercard exchange rate.
Link the card to your Paypal account and then at paypal checkout choose to pay in foreign currency instead of using Paypal's rip off rates. It will then use the card's exchange rate.
I know everyone buys lots and so it can add up quickly, but seriously just don't buy a coffee or something one day and forget about all the exchange rate and who to preorder with crap!

Half of the threads on here are turning into "where are you getting it from/what are you paying/oh that's good/oh that's bad/i'm getting it from here/i'm getting it from there!"
That's funny, I'm also getting it from there. :P
I don't really like the new pics, but it's just the angle: his head looks weird to me with the "helmet" part so far back.
Actually, I have thought about it (my mother has one from her trip OS last year) But I'm not sure my wallet can handle a 3rd credit card :p I've been thinking about looking at it when one of my other cards comes up for renewal. The no foreign currency fee is very appealing!:)
The only thing I don't like is those lines coming from his eyes much like CW Dragstrip
anyone having problems pre-ordering from HLJ?
I have tried to put orders in for mp25 but when i head into my account I have 0 orders.
update: the website just takes about 10minutes or so to update, my order came through:)
Amazon Japan is currently listing it at full RRP (which seems pretty high!); but as usual, I'd expect the price to drop once their pre-order discount kicks in. Still... at such a high RRP, the pre-order price would probably equate to standard RRP for most previous MP Cars :o
Is a bigger box just for a stand. This is where I wished they sold one without.
