Yes, yes, yes, and yes... ;)

On that thought, I rang up TRU head office and asked about the Gold Coast store, and it is looking more likely that they will NOT be coming back.
It's gone from a "likely yes" in April, to a "likely no" now. :(
Also, they verified that the Mackay store (burnt down by a 14 year old over a year ago), is NOT returning.
ToysRUs Garden City.
Got in another case of two MP Grimlocks today, but were gone within a couple hours again. Still no extra Sunstorms, but about a dozen Prowls are left at the front of the store (they started out with about 20 according to a sighting above by Christalcase).
This was a photo I took last Wednesday. NOTE - the MP Grimlocks are GONE.

The main Transformers section was a massive MESS. Someone had pulled out all the toys from the bottom shelf and dumped them out onto the stock on the other shelves, and all over the floor.
This was a photo I took of the "new" Macgregor Toyworld store.

Also today, from BigW at Garden City...
They had the second wave of Hero Masher basics (Rodimus, Jetfire, Heatwave) and upgrades (Soundwave, Slug), but nothing else new since my May sale photos. :(
They had some of the First Edition Optimus toys that Paulbot noted in the Clearance thread, at a pretty decent $45. For a toy that is larger than a Leader toy, and easier to transform/play with, I recommend it.
For non toy items....
I looked around their book section for about 10 minutes, trying to find the Transformers 8-pack comic box, wondering what section they might have put it, and finally found it in an overflow section next to the Lifestyle books. They had about 8 of them for $24 - but when you scan one it suggests that its normal price is $35.

I love the way the inner spine has the Transformers logo formed from the eight issues in a certain order. Very well done. (and lets you know before you buy it in the sealed packaging that you have all eight issues in there)
I was so impressed, it actually tipped me over the edge to buy one.
And for those wanting help to find it at their nearest BigW, this is the barcode because I couldn't find a shelf-tag to photograph...
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014bigw11.jpg
And finally in their lighting department at the back of the store, they have a huge range of the novelty wall-lights (looks like the object is breaking through the wall, or has been smashed into it)... but only three Autobot wall lights. Boxes say there is a Decepticon light, but not sure if anyone has seen them here.

Thanks for the barcode Griffin, that's very thoughtful to put it up.
Runaway Big W has restocked on the newest wave of Hero Mashers.
I saw Jetfire, Rodimus, Autobot Heatwave and Soundwave, and in the larger size G1 Dinobot tingy (Snarl? Slag?). I picked up Jetfire, but noticed there's no allegiance symbol on his chest. Just in case it was a Decepticon becomes Autobot thing, I checked and Rodimus + Soundwave don't have emblems either.
Pegwarming on AOE Deluxes and Voyagers too, with no restocks.
I picked up Voyager Slog from Big W Rocky today. He was the last one there but it at least suggests they have them in stock. For those nearer to a TRU it will be cheaper to buy him there; I only blew my load because I knew I'd have to get it back up from Canberra if I waited.
Had a speculative look for Jetfire in Toyworld, but no dice.
one MP Sunstorm at Aspley TRU.
Down to 7 MP Prowls at Garden City after I caved in and grabbed one. Wasn't going to go for the cars but having a YOTH Prime with an empty trailer and a Mp Magnus on order, I think having at least one MP car is a must.
Thanks for the thorough update for Garden City Griffin...saved me stopping on the way home yesterday :D:cool:
My local Big W had Heatwave, Rodimus and Jetfire hero mashers, so i would think they should have them at all big w stores now.
Apparently the new wave of deluxes (Lockdown, Bumblebee and Hotshot) have been found by a tfw member in a Brisbane Target.
It's these guys
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-...-images-180712/
Breakout Battle pack at Myer Sunshine Plaza. $169.00 is the ticketed price. They had at least 6 of them. Looks nice in the box but that's too much to pay in my books.
If any Target in Brisbane was bound to have the new wave of deluxes you'd expect the new Garden City Mt Gravatt one to, but alas they only had the first two waves in the deluxes. I did see one Ultra Drift and Slog there though ($49). I guess they just moved most of their old stock from Mt Gravatt Central before the %50 off storewide sale last week
Also Kmart in the same centre (opened today too) had several Large Drift's and Slogs on their shelves :) (no new deluxes :() But some new Nick turtle figures - Slash, Rahzar, Squirrelanoid, Newtralizer.
http://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/...ps42c664a2.jpg
Garden City has opened up its new section, and I was surprised that a Target and Myer are moving in with the re-opened Kmart.
The Myer store won't be open until next month, but Kmart and Target were open today, which gives Garden City six out of seven major store-chain toy sources, which I think is about as good as we get in an Australian shopping centre.
(the seven being BigW, Kmart, Target, Toyworld, ToysRUs, Myer, DavidJones)
It would make for a great meet location, if they didn't have the paid parking now, which only gets you 3 hours free. (not really enough time for a decent meet-up... not that we have any interest for them in Brisbane anymore)
I was hoping to see all new waves of Transformers toys at Kmart and Target, but there was still a lot of wave 1 stock at both.
No new Deluxes at either store (Lockdown or later).
The Target store on the upper level of the new section looks rather small, and their toy section was tiny. This was their Transformers section.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014tg2.jpg
As noted above, Myer isn't open yet, but it will be a two-storey store in the new end of the Centre, so might have a decent toy section. No guarantee though, as David Jones is also two floors, but has a tiny toy section.
On the lower floor, the newly re-opened (and relocated) Kmart had a huge toy section. So large, it had two sections for Transformers toys.
This was at the front of the toysection...
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014kmart5.jpg
When I was first saw that in the store I was thinking they had a really bad selection, but then I had a walk around to see what the rest of the toy section was like, I found this aisle.

They had all six Voyagers, but at the regular price of $49.
The Rescue Bots Bumblebee Raptor, but not the Optimus T-rex for some reason.
Wave two of the One-Steps (Lockdown, Slash, Crosshairs, etc).
The latest wave of Rescue Bots 2-pack figurines, and the electronic AOE Titans.
Everything else looked to be wave one.
Checking out BigW, nothing had changed, other than most of the Clearance items were gone.
The $24 Gen1 comic book pack is now out the front of the book section on an aisle cap, instead of the hidden location they first started in.
And I found the Potato Heads by accident in the toddler section, while looking for something else.
The single packs and the 2-pack, but still no convertible packs. We may not have got them in Australia.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014bigw13.jpg
And finally at ToysRUs.
Just like BigW, nothing new since last week. There is only one MP Prowl left, after starting out with 20. Still no sign of Sunstorm, and no Grimlocks while I was there.
Stomp & Chomp Grimlock on sale this week for $120.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014tru5.jpg
Still a TFPrime Voyager Bulkhead floating around.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014tru6.jpg
And the Kreons on sale - 3 for $10. They still have 2 & 1/2 cases of the first 2014 microchangers, so wont be getting in the second wave any time soon.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014tru7.jpg
A disappointing late-night shopping event... but was worth checking out the new, larger Garden City, for anyone else on this side of Brisbane to visit in the future.
Legends Strafe and Megatron found at Coles Sunnybank $7.
(Wave 1 was Optimus, Starscream, Bumblebee)
Got home with some pics up now.
As noted above, the second wave of Legends were found at Coles Sunnybank for $7.
At first glance I thought it was Hound because of the artwork, but a closer look it was a Megatron toy.
Megatron is almost identical to the Universe version from about 2009, even with the same camo pattern (the purple is slightly darker).
Strafe is a nice combination of blues... but for some funny reason, the instructions on the back of the card are for BW Terrorsaur from 1996. So is totally useless for this Beast Hunters toy.

.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014coles2.jpg
Sunnybank Kmart had several of the Rescue Bots raptor Bumblebee & T-rex Optimus toys for $19.
Also had the Voyager Drift and Slog, and One-step Lockdown.
Further research has found that Grimlock was sighted with Strafe in the UK, but not Megatron.
Maybe all three are in the wave and Grimlock was already gone before I saw these.
We'll see what other people find in the next few weeks.
(the funny thing is that the Grimlock also has the wrong instructions as well, giving both Dinobots the wrong instructions, being to the moulds that are being used in the Walmart 2-packs)
And Megatron's art is for the other Legends Megatron tank toy. Most incoherent backing-card wave ever!
Hasbro... beating the KO people at their own game. :p
Went and saw TMNT on the weekend at Garden City (better than I expected BTW :)) So thought I'd stick my head in at TRU to see the MP Sunstorm they were advertising and maybe just maybe a MP Grimlock Beaming on their Shelves but instead saw this :D:rolleyes:
http://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2d8d05f4.jpg
...sooooo glad I ordered online as Sunstorm turned up via couriers please just this morning :) and I expect Grimlock tomorrow (as he was shipped a day later)
Were the sunstorms on sale on the catalogue?
The toy has to be there for it to be sighting, RC :p;)
He's still advertised at his regular price of $129.99 in catalog (you get the bonus Abominus figure for spending over $75) but he was also available as part of their ViP sale for $104.99 with the 20% off saving.
At my local Big W (Runaway Bay), I noticed at the express lane there was a display pallete of Kinda Surprise. I've never bought one before, but it had Transformers toys inside! It was branded TRansformers, but actually TF:Prime figures. Is this new? I'll try to post a photo of one of the boxes. They were being sold in a 3-egg value pack, for $5.00 with eight to collect, and a 2014 copyright date
They are the ones that Europe got about 8 months ago.
A few people found them in Sydney stores last week too.
As if I needed a reason to buy Kinder Surprise... :p
Covenant of Primus hardcover book at North Lakes CostCo $39.99 I recall. Keep forgetting to post here.
I need to hang out south side more often.
This was in a store called My Cube in the Garden City Westfield.

Hope I helped guys. :)
Garden City Target have was just stocking Kreo combiners and microchangers tonight. They are the ohe ones from this year, which are already at TRU and BigW... but gives us another possible source of the second wave if we see them released here.
I didn't see prices, as they were still in the master cartons on a cage that was still being unloaded.
(I got excited for a minute seeing the master carton for the Microchangers, thinking that it might be wave 2 and I wouldn't need to take my chances with an opened case... but alas, it was just wave 1)
Speaking of wave 1 - TRU at Garden City haven't moved any of theirs in the last week of 3 for $10. They still have 2 & 1/2 cases sitting on the shelf.
Two MP Prowls at the first register.
No Evolutions Optimus set yet... but about 20 of the Beast Hunters Abominus sets ($40, or free with a purchase over a certain amount).
Doh... I forgot to check Coles to see if they have the Legends Grimlock.
Next time then.
While at BigW, I was looking for the Kinder Surprise, and in the confectionery section they still had a couple cases of the Marvel 3-packs (same as my nearby Woolies), so I didn't think they had the Transformers 3-packs in yet.
Double-checking the checkouts because others had mentioned finding them there, I was surprised to see... not one, but two massive display stands full of Transformers 3-packs.
(I had to rush taking the photo, so will get a better one later to replace this one.)
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014bigw14.jpg
That's a lot of boxes... and there were TWO of these display cases.
I bought some to try to get a set.
Thinking that I shouldn't need more than maybe five packs (15 eggs) to get a full set of 8, I bought 10 packs (30 eggs) just to be sure. I like the chocolate, and can give away or sell the spares to Americans.
With 30 eggs, to find 8 different figures... you'd think that would be good enough odds to end up with at least one full set. But since I've had terrible luck with previous capsule-type figures, that's one reason I bought 10 packs. I just knew that I wouldn't be able to get a full set of 8 without having at least 20 spares.
But my luck with blind capsules maintained its typical poor form.
The final tally...
Starscream - 7
Bumblebee - 7
Ratchet - 6
Megatron - 4
Soundwave - 3
Bulkhead - 3
Optimus - 0
Arcee - 0
So typical... :(
I wanted to do up a news posting with photos/review of the full set... so will have to wait until I get more. (and see how many more boxes I need to buy just to find two damn figures)
