Just looking at all of that chocolate is making me feel ill
:p
Managed to duck over to Garden City just before the stores closed, and Coles have heaps of wave 1 Legends, so are not likely to get wave 2 any time soon.
They also still have quite a few of the Kreo Customs (wave 1 of Movie and some wave 1 of the Gen1 series), plus about a dozen still of the Beast Hunters Legends... including a Rotgut and Windrazor (which is coincidentally the same two left of the last wave at the Sunnybank Woolies).
That reminds me - the Coles at Pinelands Plaza no longer stock toys. I was there the other day, and couldn't find their toys (it's been about 3 months since I was last there). I asked, and they said that they've cut back on their range of stock... including their toy section. It is a smaller store for Coles, but was a good backup for the smaller toys for me.
Anyway, back to Garden City tonight...
Still no Evolutions Optimus set at TRU. There were boxes everywhere in the store in the closing 10 minutes of the day, as they were just unloading a delivery. They mentioned that they didn't see any Transformers in the load, but are currently "behind" with their stock schedule (because I asked why Aspley already had it).
Apparently a big delivery is arriving Tuesday night, so Wednesday morning might have some new TFs items.
As for BigW, I managed to get a couple good photos of the Kinder Surprise display.
I've replaced the file of the photo above (and left below), and took a second photo of the other display case (below right). While I was at the register buying some more, I saw a THIRD display case at one of the far registers. Hundreds of these things at the one store... but doing quite well, as there were two layers sold in the last day on that display case located in the queue area.

As a follow-up to my post from yesterday, it took me another 18 eggs to finally find the remaining two I was missing. :(
That was 48 eggs just to get a complete set of 8.
The final numbers from 57 eggs...
Starscream - 11
Bumblebee - 11
Ratchet - 9
Soundwave - 8
Bulkhead - 6
Megatron - 6
Optimus - 4
Arcee - 2
That just defies logic.
Since the most popular/significant character (Optimus) was the second-rarest for me to find, it doesn't seem likely that figures were made in different ratios. So it is expected that each figure was produced in similar quantities, to give the same odds - 1 in 8, or 12.5%.
Statistically, the larger the sample becomes, the closer the result should get to any pre-defined ratio or odds.
But as you can see in the numbers above, Arcee ended up being a mere 3.5% (a quarter), while Starscream & Bumblebee were each just under 20% (almost double).
After all that, I only ended up with one spare set to sell or trade (to Americans who didn't get them), as incomplete sets won't be worth anything unless I have a lot of Bumblebee fans wanting just that figure. :p
I can't believe you went out and bought more chocolate. Now that's dedication to the cause :D :p
Interesting.... I'm 5/8 after 5 eggs, including an arcee.... But even bigger odds, I got a Double EGG!!!
Just swung into TRU aspley and they seem to have found some old stock, I couldn't believe my eyes when I found a Transformers Prime voyager Bulkhead! I snatched him immediately, it was a hard choice though. They've still got 2 Prime voyager Starscreams and a Prime Voyager Optimus. I also noticed a voyager beast hunters talking Bumblebee(black scheme) and a voyager beast hunter Prime (green). They otherwise had still plenty of aoe Grimmys and wave 2 of the voyagers (heli drift and slog) also saw at least 2 evo bee sets and the predacon rising abominus sets. So happy with Bulkhead, i may do a review on him soon!

I saw two new models of Transformers at Sunnybank Kmart: Drift and Slog

Note: These are not actual photos I took at the store. I've found these images on the web to show what I saw at Kmart
Rescuebots Optimus Primal (the big dino version) at Myer. $69.99
I just got an email from Mr Toys saying that Generations Jetfire is retailing for $89.95, but when I clicked on the show catalogue link, it wasn't in the catalog. I'm guessing a glitch, and it was a tease preview but not yet in stock. My toyworld doesn't have them yet
Mr Toys Queen St had one Generations Leader Jetfire as of this lunchtime.
I was very tempted in picking him up, but just couldn't justify the $89 pricetag. :(
TF4 Evolutions Optimus 2-pack just arrived at Garden City TRU just before they closed today, just in time to get the Abominus set for free. (not for me, but for someone else)
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014tru8.jpg
They still had about 20 Abominus sets in the over-stock shelves, but none on the shelves. Instead, in the empty spot that was supposed to have the Abominus sets, was two ripped open toys with things missing. That's pretty ballsy to pull that scummy move in such an open, well lit store, that's rarely empty.

Nothing else new there though, but they were still unloading the delivery when the store closed.
Back at BigW, I saw that they had moved all three Kinder Surprise stands together.

Still none of the catalogue stock at the Sunnybank Reject Store today.
Called into garden city reject shop yesterday and they had 1x BB drill, 1x Smokecreen Ship, 1x Breakdown Suit in the Beast Hunters Vehicles ($20). For the Constuctbots they had multiples of Crankcase, Silverbolt, Deadend and Cliffjumper, Bumbleebee and Blitzwing. Also if people are chasing them I noticed this store (GC) and the Victoria Point store (last weekend) had series two of the 30 Anniversary Mini figures.
Unless they put more stock out today they are now minus the Bumblebee BH Vehicle Set :D;)
Saw AOE optimus with trailer + sideswipe $299 and Autobot 5 pack $249 at myer garden city today.

At these prices they may be shelf warming for a while. ..
Toyworld Runaway Bay now has two leader Jetfire @ $89.95
Target Runaway Bay has Spundwave Voyagers on clearance @ $39
They also have the second wave of HeroMashers (Heatwave, Rodimus) in stock for $16, but none of the advertised Hero Mashers (Electronics, and Bumblebee/Swoop)
http://i62.tinypic.com/nq77lt.jpg
These kid's night-lights are at North Lakes CostCo, and they also have Covenant of Primus books for $38.50
I couldn't find the kreo bucket at Coles Sunnybank. But they did restock their legends, with all 6 now on the peg.
Reject shop has all three of the Beast Hunter vehicles now, but one of each. And no construct-bots. They had both series of Goldie figurines.
Kmart had Stomp and Chomp Grimlock for $129.
Garden City ToysRUs have restocked their TFPrime Voyagers (I saw Starscream and Megatron at the front, but Bulkhead & Optimus could have been there as well).
All their Evolution Optimus boxes are still in the over-shelf... none are on the sale shelves for customers to see or buy (to know that they are even there).
I told one of the staff there (along with a wrongly displayed price for something else), but she didn't seem too concerned, and walked off to the dolls aisle to check something there.
BigW had Christmas merchandise - the Calendar and lolly stocking that Paulbot posted in the news section, plus a tin lunchbox with cookies and a giant "chuppa chup" filled with 15 lollypops. (photos to be posted in Paulbot's news topic as soon as I get them uploaded)
That reminds me. TRU had a solitary MP Sunstorm at the store tonight for $130.... just a day before the 20% off coupon starts, which would have brought it down to $104.
(sigh... I imported one for $121 from Texas, to save money and because it wasn't at this store since the day it was released)
Went to Aspley TRU today. Grimlock's back.

Also, they have a butt ton of TF Kinder Surprises.
Woolworths and BigW have the Kinder 3-packs on sale for $4 (from $5) this week, as the Woolies near me at Sunnybank had both single and 3-packs arrive this week.
That means a 3-pack gives you a free egg, when going by the single egg price ($2).
I bought three packs (to see if I can complete more sets by hoping to get Arcee and Optimus while on sale), and wouldn't you know it.... I get a set of 8 and a spare. Why couldn't that happen 50 eggs ago with my FIRST three packs.
(and it still leaves me with the same number of incomplete sets)
Some photos to go with recent sightings I've posted.
Sunnybank Kmart.
Stomp & Chomp Grimlock at the lowest regular price I've seen it at - $129.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014kmart8.jpg
And heaps of Rescue Bots.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014kmart9.jpg
ToysRUs Garden City.
MP Sunstorm - $130
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/2014tru9.jpg
Coles Sunnybank.
Selling both single and 3-pack Transformers Kinders. Same price as everywhere - $2 and $5.

The new Myer at Garden City.
Being new, they didn't have the older Platinum Sets, just the Autobot 5-pack and the Trailer/Sideswipe one. Both were all locked up with security devices, preventing people from being able to see the bling, to encourage them to drop $300 on a coloured box that has inaccurate product images on the back.

This item caught my eye, but only ended up being a sticker and activity book set with a mini-poster that forms from folding out the box. I didn't remember to look at the price, but probably about $20.

Photos of the Christmas stuff at BigW will be posted in the news topic to limit the length of this post by duplicating it.
The items though...
Advent Calendar - $3
Cookie lunch-box - $9
Lolly stocking - $8
Giant lollipop container - $5

Hi folks,
The Casheezi pawnshop at Logan Central has a TakaraTomy MP Grimlock (in the black cardboard box) for $199 as well as a knockoff MP Red Alert for $39. Not sure if anyone's interested but thought it was strange seeing them in such a store.
CostCo are up to their ol' tricks again. This time it's AoE's turn for the leader class Bumblebee. This is CostCo North Lakes, and they cost $35.99.
http://i62.tinypic.com/28me0qt.jpg
If anyone wants to check it out but isn't a CostCo member, shoot me a PM and we can probably work something out.
The giant lollipop thingy sucks. The best thing about it is the actual lollipop stand with the artwork. I asked if I could take the stand. Answer was NO. :(
TRU Garden City had 3 MP Grimlock, 2 MP Sunstorm and something like 14 MP Prowls. Spread out between the actual TF section and front counter.
Picked up the Gaia Unicron Voyager set from Myer Northlakes for $38.00! You gotta be happy with that!
I went to TRU Garden city today but couldn't find any sun storms, only Grimlock and prowl
Big W Runaway Bay is. Pulling a switcher oo. The Kinda Surprise display was for Transformers, and it's only once I brought three packs home I noticed they were the no TF kind ones. Bastiches
I think Myer had 50% off clearance stock in store yesterday...so i checked their website and it as listed at cleatance $79...so instore it was half that. I dont think its 50% off today, but it would be worth checking if either deal is still on. Btw Northlakes looked to have about 5 more in stock (bottom shelf of the TF table).
Oh, well thanks for the check.
Nothing really new to report at Garden City today.
Coles have the 3-pack Kinder Surprise on sale, and cheaper than the price last week at Woolies/BigW. $3.80 for a 3-pack (from $5), but their sale week ends on Tuesdays, so probably only two days left on that price.
BigW have NOT got in the new One-Steps or Deluxes that have been found in other stores... and they are sitting on so much stock that they aren't likely to get them in for a while.
They also wouldn't hand out any catalogues before the day of the sale, as I didn't have one arrive in the mail yet, so asked if they had it yet.
Kmart have a big wire bin of Stomp & Chomp Grimlocks near the central registers, away from the toy section... so you need to look for them if the single one sitting in the toy section gets bought.
(I bought 6 DVDs from their catalogue sale while I was there, and three of them I already had... :( )
Target have moved their Transformers to three different shelves, and I couldn't find the Kreo Microchangers they had last time I was there. Maybe the case is near the registers as a cheap impulse buy.
Myer still haven't done anything to show off the contents of their Platinum Edition sets, as one of the people in charge had said they would.
The blue box activity set (scroll up to one of my posts with photos) is priced at $17, and is in the next catalogue for 25% off if you buy 2 or more kids "books")
They have the best customer service I've ever experienced in this country. I asked for a copy of the latest catalogue, and it took a couple people to find one out the back, even though I assured them that it was okay, that I'd come back another day when they are put out. Then walking back through the store looking at the catalogue, someone else asked if I needed any help.
I thought I was in another country.
I didn't bother going into TRU, as a couple people had just been there in the last few days, and I wasn't expecting anything new that I wanted.
Today was probably the hottest day since the new section opened up, and I don't think they installed enough air conditioners to cope... or they were being really cheap with the air conditioning. Usually these big shopping centres are nice and cool on hot days... but I was sweating just walking from TRU to BigW, before I had even bought anything to carry. Once I did buy some things, I just wanted to get out of there fast, as it was really uncomfortable carrying bags with me.
There are so many Asian themed stores now open in the new section, which is still not fully finished yet. I counted 5 different Sushi stores now in Garden City, a MOS Burger, an Asian Supermarket now next to Coles, and a small "food lane" of 15 small Asian food cubicles/outlets.
I like having different foreign food outlets, to sample different types of foods, but it looks like all the new themed food outlets are just Asian, and it's not just a couple either, but over 20. No European, Middle-Eastern, Central American, or other more obscure nationalities seem to have opened up since the expansion. A bit of a strange imbalance I think.
