Spotted these little guys at kmart toowong today.http://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8eb3b4p3.jpg
I was at Garden City Big W, and was surprised to see a Hasbro rep (she had a shirt saying 'Team Hasbro' and a portable suitcase) taking inventory of the Hasbro Marvel and Star Wars lines and swapping some items, which seemed an odd thing to be doing. Maybe they like to know what toys are peg warmers?
Also, a lot of the Transformers Angry Birds were gone, but scored a Bumblebee. They're really cute little things.
Also three MP Prowl left at TRU
Wave 3 AOE Deluxes at Sunnybank Kmart for $29. Only 2x Hot Shots and 1x Bumblebee left.
You can try and pricematch to the current TRU sale price of $24 but annoyingly, you will need a physical copy of the catalogue.
If anyone is still looking, there were 3 MP Wheeljacks at TRU Maroochydore yesterday.
Cheers, I found that comic book shop and went in but they didn't have anything transformers related. The guy said they sometimes get the trade paperbacks but no single issues any more as they don't have the demand for it. Some other brand t-shirts and action figures and stuff though.
Big W Gladstone has Angry Birds Telepods $10 each. Also all AOE Voyagers from all Waves are currently in.
At Kmart Sunnybank, I saw today...
- the Angry Birds telepods single packs (6 different ones) and 2-packs (2 different ones) at $9 and $19
- AOE Deluxe Bumblebee (2), Hotshot (2), Lockdown (1)
- Rescue Bots mini-dino wave 2 Chase & Boulder for $9
OK Coasters! Let's do it!

Angry Birds Bumblebee Bird Bath was 39.95 at Toyworld Runaway Bay. No singles (but Big W DOES)
Woolies Sunnybank had a box of the second wave Legends for $8 each. I only saw Grimlock, Strafe and Bumblebee left though.
Coles is cheaper though at $7.
Kmart Sunnybank had the licensed trackset that is housed within a giant Optimus truck & trailer for just $20.
ToysRUs had them for the Movie, along with the other trackset (they are not produced or released by Hasbro).
$20 is REALLY cheap for something that is the size of the Rescue Bots Optimus Trailer box, and comes with two nicely sculpted cars (Bumblebee & Lockdown).
WoolworthsRunawayBay has Steeljaw in the toy isle.
Myers Pacific Fair has the platinum "Dinobots Unleashed" for $249. There are two sets that I could see, plus a few Autobots United. Couldn't see Optimus and sideswipe though
The new target has Hot shot/ tracks in stock at 30% off.
At Supanova were multiple tables that sell transformers figures including 3rd party ones like the Boosticus and Quantron. As well as some takara tomy prime figures.
Quite a number of over priced taktomy mp figures at Supanova, plus a couple encore fort maximus for about $430 each :(
Kmart garden city yesterday had at least 2x snarl, 3 x hotshot and 1x bb yellow camaro generations AOE line @ their regular price ($29 i think) and Myer had at least 1x galvatron and 2x steeljaw 1 step changers at around $16 (on sale from $20.50). I also noticed TRU still has a few MP Prowls (end of TF isle at top)
Myer Garden City also had six of the Platinum Leader 2-packs, and 3 of the Optimus/Sideswipe sets... but no Dinobot sets yet, or Breakout Battle (which is on sale this week).
Kmart only has a single Hotshot and Snarl left.
Target has single pack Telepod Angry birds at $11 each (the most expensive source so far). They also have heaps of those One-step six-packs and Silver Knight/Grimlock 2-packs. They didn't have the last wave of Deluxes though. :(
Toyworld kawana has still got a few of the rts moulds left hiding on the shelves. They still had perceptor and bee that I could see.
As I had expected, and hoped, the newly expanded Westfield Garden City will join Westfield Chermside in having an all-day shopping day before Christmas. Usually it is the Thursday before Christmas, but since it is a full week before this year, they have moved it to Tuesday 23rd. The stores open 8am Tuesday 23rd and close 5.30pm Wednesday 24th... if they want to participate (smaller stores often close between midnight and 9am).
I used to go to the Chermside one for a few years, just for a bit of novelty fun of shopping till dawn... something some southern states can do all year round with 24 hour Kmarts, and America has too with a lot of their big retailers.
This year I want to do Garden City from about midnight, if I'm still in Brisbane on that day (I have travel plans for the Christmas weekend, but yet to book flights), in case anyone is interested in meeting up.
Not a sighting, but only applicable to those near a Mr Toys Toyworld, and isn't a sale price anyway... so probably not worth a news posting.
The current Mr Toys catalogue has the single Angry Birds packs for $13 each (compared to $9 at Kmart, $10 at BigW and $11 at Target).
They also have the Cararra slot-car set (Bumblebee Vs Lockdown) for $129... which I think someone saw at TRU, which would probably be cheaper anyway.
20% anyone item at Sunshine Coast TRU:

Found the AOE Wave 2 and 3 Power Battlers today at City Target (Scorn, Slag, Galvatron, Drift).
Kmart Sunnybank restocked their Deluxes, which means Snarl is back in stock (along with Hotshot and Bumblebee).
They also have all three of the final Flip & Change toys - Drift, Lockdown, Bumblebee.
Toys R US Garden City had Legends RiD Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Strongarm and Steeljaw for $8 each, one of each cept for 2 Optimus's. Very surprised to see these honestly.
Tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd) is the all-day-all-night shopping at Chermside and Garden City.
Anyone else going to either one during the midnight hours, just for the fun of it?
I was planning to go to the Garden City at around midnight and do the once-over of the toy sources (and some other stores), so will probably be there for about 3 hours if on my own (probably longer if I had company). Since this isn't something anyone else has ever really been interested in, I didn't bother with a proper meet topic (it's hard enough getting people interested in a "normal" meet here)... but I can meet up if another member going wants to. Just let me know beforehand, and if you want me to bring anything "current" to look at that I recently acquired - RID 3-step changers, MP Bumblebee, Gaia Unicron, GEN Brainstorm, Platinum Dinbots, Angry Birds, Deaths Head, JP Sentinel Optimus Pen.
The website says that they don't charge for parking if you arrive after 6pm and leave before 6am... so at least that's not an issue.
Toys R Us Mt Gravatt has no MP Bumblebeeonthe shelf, and some asshats for employees. Told me it was sold out, or never was in stock, but that they don't have any managers in the floor.... And they didn't know how to find one. And they didn't know the store number to ring for one, it was in their phone and they would have to go back to get it. I was polite and courteous, and they made me feel like crap just for asking.
Infuriating. Eventually found one who said that no more stock was arriving until January on the phone, but didn't have the time to look it up on the computer to find out if they had received any ready to put out on shelf.
I miss my old Gold Coast store, that actually had time to be helpful to customers. It would have been an awesome gift, and while it's in stock on TRU au website, wouldn't arrive in time.
Sorry to hear about your experience. I just got mine from the Sunshine Plaza store. There are 5 left and with the 20% of voucher makes it really reasonable.
Midnight Garden City shopping.
I got there at 12.30am and there was still a healthy number of people, and very few shops were already closed. For the next hour, it looked and felt like it was just a regular day. The noticeable difference though was how stripped/trashed the toy sections were in each store. Particularly the Transformers sections.
Kmart, ToysRUs and BigW were an absolute mess with their Transformers sections, while Target and Myer were significantly stripped compared to a week ago when I was last there.
A good sign there, that most stores have had a big dent out of their Transformers inventory, to warrant new stock soon (like Generations and RID). It's one of the few times I was actually happy to see empty pegs or shelves, particularly at BigW which had been clogged with at least a hundred gimmick toys since the Movie in June.
TRU - Just like BigW, there was significant empty spots on the shelves, and NOTHING in the over-stock area. Even their Kreo/Construct-Bots section was half empty, which had been sitting untouched even when they were on sale. They still had several Leader Jetfires and heaps of the various Evolutions packs and Voyager Galvatrons though. No RID or Masterpiece anything. The only new things I noticed were the Flip&Change Drift, the final wave One-steps (Prowl/Rollbar/etc), and cheap little novelty disc-launchers by Tomy.
BigW - nothing new that I could see, but a lot of empty pegs and shelf space... so fingers crossed on new (non-movie) stock soon.
Target - ALL the One-Step 6-packs appear to be gone. They had about 10 a week ago, and now, none! I must admit that they'd look like a great "giftset", being quite a large box with 6 toys... so would have been the most tempting item to look like an expensive gift to their kid.
Myer - despite the prices and several cheaper options in the same shopping centre, there was a noticeable dent in their Transformers selection. Unfortunately, the expensive Platinum Editions appear to be "walking" now that they don't have security tags on them. They were missing two Autobot 5-packs and one Dinobot 5-pack, and probably missing some of the others as well, but those were the ones I asked about. I hope that they aren't losing too many of these things, as the Platinum series looks to be continuing after the Movie ones, and when they go on sale at Myer, the do become rather affordable compared to importing. (and even cheaper than importing when on clearance)
They still had a single Trailer/Sideswipe set, a single Breakout Battle set and four Leader 2-packs.
Kmart - the only store in the Centre that had more than one Deluxe (they had about a dozen, including a single Hotshot). HEAPS of Rescue Bots (way too many), as well as the newer items Flip&Change Drift and final wave One-steps.
Most stores had massive amounts of those Hero Mashers, either being restocked in huge amounts, or are just not being bought at all. Target had more TFs Hero Mashers than all the other TFs toys combined.
A couple of the independent novelty stores had the three Movie head wall-lights, as well as one near the Myer end having a variety of licensed mugs (including a giant "mega mug" that can hold 850ml - almost a full litre!!!)
Then there was one of the central kiosks selling radio control cars, selling a KO TF3 Ultimate Optimus, in the KO flame packaging that the oversized Leader toys had in some Asian countries a couple years ago.
A couple of signs I saw last night (this morning actually), worth noting, but both expire today... so not much time left to utilise them.
Target had signs up saying that they'll price-match competitor's catalogue prices until December 24th (they are the one store chain that doesn't have a consistent policy, but will have a policy during one or two sale periods each year).
Myer had a sign up, saying 30% off Transformers (not applying to sale prices).
I left at about 3.15am, and the numbers had dropped off a lot to look like a (non-christmas period) weekday morning crowd. The Myer end from BigW to the end was the most active, with a lot of the small stores and food outlets staying open and a decent number of people, but the TRU end, especially the lower level, was a lot quieter, with most of the smaller retailers closed after about 1am.
BigW Calamvale was similarly almost stripped bare when I was there yesterday. Hardly anything larger than a Deluxe.
They must have restocked really recently though as they had the last four Deluxes (Hotshot, Snarl, Bumblebee, Lockdow) at $28, and an endcap of One-Steps at $19... at least 50 of them including the final wave, so it looked like you could probably get a complete set of all 17 of the general release figures.
They also still had a fair few of the christmas stocking and lunchboxes, but the lunchboxes were not discounted like christmas items, because they could sell at any time of year.
n00b question -
Anyone know if the Combiner Wars single card figures will be @ retail in AUS?
Legitimate question mate. I don't think anyone can answer that though. The likelihood is that the Australian majors will pass on Generations, and focus on RiD due to RiD's media backing with cartoons and games. Honestly, I'm waiting for the TakaraTomy releases coz tfidownunder have wholesale connections with them so it'd be cheaper than normal Hasbro Aus retail anyway. I know the dude from tfidownunder is trying to establish a wholesale link with Hasbro US, but apparently the main thing holding him back is his lack of a store front (being purely online right now)
They will almost certainly be out in Feb/March. This has been confirmed by Hasbro AU to Griffin here: http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=19917 . The reason we didnt get the last two years of Generations is for the reasons you said above but since then Hasbro AU seem to be pushing the line harder.
