I love the look of this guy, so I thought I'd take some happy snaps. Enjoy.

hahaha you guys are funny this is probably the best thread ive ever started. nice shots guys keep it coming! i recommend we should post a photo a day so people wont get bored seeing multiple images of the same character. and by the way keep it creative guys! :D go outdoors and snap some action poses not just one character, maybe an action scene, scene taken from comic books or a movie scene or a photo that show alot of emotions. We want to make this thread stand.
oh btw im still here and i do keep an eye out for this thread, reason i havent been posting is due to slow internet which causes alot of delay uploading my photos to photobucket. just something to check out have a look at this facebook page and be inspired by these shots im actually a member of this group and have been pick of one of the HOT SHOT FAMES of JULY...check it out

I really like the changes in depth of field, and focal distance. the last shot is like you've just woken up and the first thing you focus on is a big gun with a blurry face in the distance.
i got an Olympus E-P1 bought it off my brother nice and cheap :D
i finished off my Dead End custom tonight so i pulled out the light tent to take some pics

My singular contribution for this evening:
http://i954.photobucket.com/albums/a...9/IMG_2842.jpg
I thought i'd share some photos of a 1/6 figure i created. Inspired by Ashley woods World war robot Grunts and the Commanders, I created this guy i've nicknamed Sgt Frosty (snow camo and all) It would've been cheaper to buy one of teh WWR figures, but i like him a lot =]

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...e/DSC_0072.jpg
I like this one a lot even though the light kinda covers his torso a bit, it kinda remind me of someone photoing after a gun fight with smoke and haze.

I'd love to hear some feedback =]
My pic for this evening before I head out:

Dkaris, I love that 3rd photo with the smoke effect. Looks like a real person dressed up. Nice lighting effects too!
was having another play around with the camera and came up with these.
what have you guys used for the black backgrounds cause they look really good

Those Stunticons look fantastic mate, well done with Wildrider, the "sad" photo does look pretty damn cool.
@VP: Holy S*** dude! - I'm damn loving those Mindwipe pics man, they're friggin' awesome!:cool:
@Accel: Those are some excellent shots of yet another of those Camera caressing Bugmen! - More I say, More! :D
@Deceptic: I like your suggestion quite a bit dude, a creative pic a day? - I'll have to see if I can come up with something. ;)
@Loopy: Deadend = Awesomesauce, as does Exgraver and the Stunticons!:cool:
@Dkaris: Man, that smoke effect looks absolutely perfect man!, well done as that is an excellent photo!:D
Result of some boredom... first attempt at photographing toys.

It's a father and son kind of moment
I'm not very good at posing my toys, and my voyager Ironhide just likes to fall over all the time.
And a bonus, the Stig.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...yards/stig.png
I don't use a light tent/box - my basic setup is pretty straight forward.
A black towel placed on a table top and one behind the subject - object is illuminated by normal fluorescent household lighting.
The rest is careful tweaking and experimentation with camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, etc).
Thanks dude - have now invested in a tripod, so there will be more to come. ;)
Holy crap Jena, some excellent shots that certainly attest to your skills as a teacher!
those Ironhide shots really do look incredible, it's amazing how you've managed to near perfectly match the lighting on Ironhide with that of the background - It really puts an interesting dimension on the shot. ;)
"Some say, that one needs the Hubble Space Telescope in order to fit his Epic-ness in frame & that no source of light is needed due to his self luminosity... All we know, is that he's called Bobblehead Stig!" :D
Ooh...
I can't believe you've not been using one to date?:confused:
I think someone's shots are soon to elevate to another level!
Thank you. I need to play around with posing, all my figures just stand around like a bunch of boring old sods.
Thank you! I wanted to use a real backdrop, it seemed more realistic since he's a live action movie toy. And I thought the sky behind him looked kinda epic, or something.
Hah, gotta love bobblehead Stig! :D
@VP: Great poses with Swerve due but his lighting is a little too skewed towards the blue/green spectrum (Or is that what you were going for?), Galvatron's shots look awesome though IMO - Especially that 1st one! ;)
@Deceptic: Dear Anubis is that an incredibly Anime/Manga subject for a photo! :p, brilliant shot man but how come the lines are so 'jaggy'?
(Need to turn your Anti-Aliasing up to 16x dude! :p)
Yeah, I was playing with a new lens/filter combo utilizing the same lighting, kinda makes it all look a bit odd doesn't it?
Not sure if I'll be using the same setup again in the future - not that pleased with the results.
Anyways, here's this evening's pics (especially for you Hursty ;)):

http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...BFAHornsUp.jpg
Sir, that is AWESOME! :eek::cool:
hehehe yeah that would probably fix it. but IMHO wouldnt that defeat the purpose of toy photography? i could imagine using photoshop for cleaning up dust or smudges from a shot or having your own signature on the photo but not really editing the whole image as a whole, cos i believe toy photography is making different composition using natural light or artificial and playing with angles, surroundings and camera settings to make a story or set a mood of your subject?
IMHO, using photoshop or any photo editing software is cheating... I have yet to use it on any of my pics - my preference is to push the boundaries of what I can do with the camera without resorting to digital editing.
I was merely stating that if Hursty thought the original pic was awesome, then he would probably love it even more if it was photoshopped.
He's a Clawful...
