3 words: Monster Hunter Tri ;)

With no net speak, unless you get a wii speak? (Yet ANOTHER add-on). Pass.
Plus Monster Hunter doesn't really do it for me. I'll stick with my Ps3 using my wii for those times of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.;) And Mario. Oh and Emulation as well. It has a great C64 Emulator on it:p
I've got all 3 platforms.
Prefer Xbox 360. Xbox has a decent controlling, not like the PS3's kiddie controller.
When Kinect came out, I bought myself a new Xbox Slim and so far so its been good.
I've had 2 Xbox's suffer RROD but that hasnt deterred me.
Just out of curiosity, what makes Sony's controller 'Kiddie' to you dude?
...
My own preferences lie with devices that work the 1st time and who's design/production isn't rushed for increased market share, but also those who's sales are purely reliant on a single franchise. ;)
And what's the price of a good computer compared to a console, Not to mention issues you can have when loading the game on as it doesn't always work which can be a real pain when all you want to do is get going on it. What's the library comparison of console games compared to pc's, so far it looks like consoles are ahead. I might add most of my game time is spent on 1 game only on my PC, Yes the life draining WOW:o
PS3 for me, has the most games I like, online is free, built in Blu-Ray and a nice simple to use interface.
Games like Halo and Gears of War really don't do anything for me, and frankly I cannot stand Microsoft as a company.
bought a chipped wii like 3 years plus ago cause games are like free...then 2 years ago got my free PS3 from Sony, bought a TV and free PS3. Havent really touch the Wii since then. Wii is fun if you have kids or friends dropping by for some party games, easy to pick up and funny to play.
i would love a PS3 with XBOX controllers they are so much better
On a slightly related note, I just recently replaced my mobo, cpu and ram and have entered the wonderful world of sandy bridge in preparation for the new Deus Ex. Next purchase, an EVGA GTX 570 graphics card. Oh the latter half of this year is gonna be real gooood. :D
The problem with consoles is you cant upgrade the hardware as easily as a PC (no im not talking about hard drive capacity.)
Take the up coming EA title Battlefield 3 for example, On pc it supports up to 64 player, consoles are limited to 32 player. I dunno about you guys but i cant think of anything more fun than playing huge maps against as many people as possible. Also Battlefield 3 on console is limited to 30 FPS..... most current games run at 60. on pc its normally much higher. If this games FPS is being cut to 30 on console, then what can we expect from future releases?
I think its fair to say that companies like Sony and Microsoft need to start thinking about how they can adapt hardware upgrades for their next gen consoles if they really want to compete with PC rigs.
you know... you can get an adapter to use a 360 controller on ps3 and vice versa.

everyone who likes casual gaming or has kids should have a wii by now with the price drop to $199rrp and a few places had it on sale for $149 during the mid year sale.
The pc games market is chump change compared to consoles these days.
PC is the best!!! trolol
I don't care about console games nowadays, I only play Counter-Strike: Source oh yeah oh yeah!!!!
I've actually been getting back into a lot of PC gaming lately, mostly thanks to the Witcher, Dawn of War and Starcraft 2. Pity Diablo 3 is still a way off!
I'd recommend the PS3. But i'm biased towards the playstation as i own a ps1, ps2, and ps3.
The PS3 has a great range of exclusive titles:
- 3rd person shooters (uncharted series, Metal Gear Solid 4)
- FPS (Killzone and Resistance series)
- Interactive story/drama? (Heavy Rain)
- Racing (GT5, Modnation Racers, Wipeout HD Fury)
- Sandbox open world game GTA/RDR like games (Infamous series, Yakuza series)
- Platformer (Ratchet and Clank series)
- Customizable platformer? (Little big planet series)
- RPG (Disgaea series, White Knight Chronciles Series, Demon Souls)
There's probably even more that could have been added to the list.
Also Sony has injected 20 million or so dollars into exclusive Playstation network titles. So there's more I could add to that list.
On another note, some xbox exclusives make their way to the PC (Gears of war, halo series, Fable series, and more).
Wii and PSMove are pretty much the same...cept PSMove lacks mario, zelda, and metroid prime!
Kinect...meh that's all i can say to that :)
So getting a combo of PS3 + PC will ensure that you don't miss out on great exclusives...even if they take a long time to make it to PC.
I put a 160gb PS3 on layby for $289 yesterday. I was going to just buy it but I decided to layby it so I could think about it. I had a PSone, a PS2 so I thought it was about time I got a PS3. I have a Wii which I enjoy but I miss the games that don't ever make it to Wii, like LA Noire.
Will I love the PS3 as much as I love my Wii?
probably more if you enjoy "traditional games"
I want all the good racing games that either suck or don't exist on Wii.
I own all 3 platforms and the Xbox is my favourite.
I got Kinect and it makes it more fun.
Wii is OK but the graphics are very poor.
As the price keeps dropping I tempted to get a Wii just to play Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 and Donkey Kong Country Returns. But I've been very happy with my decision to get a PS3 over an Xbox.
When it comes to 360/PS3, go with what ever one has the most exclusives you want, or get both!
Though about laybying a wii or ps3 but then the new ones will come out lol
Yeah Wii U next year. PS4 is probably a while off.
What's the Wii like for region coding? Can you import games easily for it?
Just saw an unconfirmed but cheap sale price on the console which has tempted to buy one, but I'm trying to track down the games I want (Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, New Mario Bros, DK Returns) cheaply too.
So there's region coding plus PAL formats? Or is it that as long as it's PAL it would play?
The $150 (for console with Mario Kart) sale price (Dick Smith) is confirmed and I'm looking to be talked out of it. :o I doubt it could get any cheaper.
If you buy an AU machine it'll play AU or EU games which are in the PAL format. US and JP games are in NTSC and won't play.
As Tetsuwan said, there are means of hacking the system to play all regions though.
However, i'd do some research first on (gbatemp forums), since newer models might be less hackable than older systems. It's tough to keep up since the 'scene' moves so quick!
