Don't really want a TFC "Abominus". Don't like the style of their designs, but really it's the excessive price which is a major turn off. What would this be? $800?
Haha! But his fellow terrorcons don't even like him - according to his tech specs :p

preordered Green Giant. Yay?
I'll wait till RK gets it as they normally have lower prices.
Yeap what Kup said....RK are usually cheaper for AUS collectors :)
Preordered From Bbts. When this comes in I'll ship my pile of loot. That's gonna be cool.
Yeh I dunno if RK will get it either. They didn't have any of the yellow variants...but then again they were a limited run.
If they do get some green giftsets in though, I can't imagine the pricing would be any less than $355US.
upgradecommander.com is also based in Japan alongside maketoys and their prices aren't any cheaper.
maketoys have also released coloured images of some new character as well
mobine?
I'd like to see someone do a PS mockup of the green giant with more purple on it. I find the blue windows a little bit off-putting.
The purple windows in G1 were always strangely enticing to me as a kid. But the little dashes of blue on Giant do spoil the colour scheme a bit, the blue and purple clash. As far as realism goes it wasn't really necessary anyway since the yellow version has that covered in the first place.
The white/red hazard striping doesn't really do it for me either, it makes it look like he's wearing band-aids after a little fall in the playground. But neither issue is a deal breaker by a long shot.
Yeh I'm not really liking the colours of the green giant either. Bit too much black and the light-ish green looks sorta dull. Could do away with the red/white stripes on Mixmasters cement mixer too.
Still, it's miles ahead of TFC's Herc IMO :D
Think I'll be purchasing from TFSource on this one. Shipping is a bit cheaper and you can pay upfront, ensuring you know the price you'll be paying for the item (as the exchange rate goes up and down)
Nevermind, got it to work now. The new website works a tiny bit differently.
So yep, $49 for shipping because of their current special, and I much prefer being able to pay for it upfront. Murphy's Law says that buying now will cause the exchange rate to go to $1.50 in late June no doubt :-D
Argh! - Man, hopefully there'll still be a couple of sets available by the time I've saved up; Life's expenses have been killing me lately. :(
I concur with the blue windows, a little off-putting but nothing big enough to deter me from wanting these guys ridiculously!:cool:
RK Link (didn't see it posted)
$5 cheaper.
so very tempted to pre order the green giftset....
Just do it.
It'll be one of those pieces in the collection that makes your collection. I ended up getting FP Bruticus quite late (and paid the price) but am still glad I did.
FOC Bruticus pretty much confirmed that we're never going to see a legit Devastator that's of the standard that we expect.
Ya I also picked up the FP Bruticus set very late for a fairly handsome sum, but man was it worth it!
I was pretty excited for a second when I saw the concept art for FOC Bruticus as well; such a pity it isn't translating into a decent toy.
Really looking forward to Giant and further classics style G1 combiners. Hope maketoys do a new Superion as well - the FP version isn't G1 enough for me :D
I'm hoping the FP Menasor rumours come true first. These companies could milk this corner of the market for years.
Ordered my Giant last night through TFSource for the simple fact I could pay for it upfront (Paypal, of course). That way the painful bit is over with and locked in at a fairly decent exchange rate. Now it's just the waiting game.
Hopefully Maketoys fixes some of the yellow version's QC issues for the green release.
Also good to see that the crane can be removed off Hook's arm and stored on his back without too much fuss...

I very much want to pickup the green set but simply have to wait for the funds, you're dead right though when you say it'll be a crowning gem amongst one's collection as FansProject's: Colossus (FP Bruticus) most certainly is that to my own collection also. ;)
I was one of the lucky ones to be able to catch them on their initial release :o, those who were unfortunate to be late to the party really did get burned cost-wise with both the Upgrade kits and the Official Combaticon set too. :(
(The going rates for both parts are absolutely insane now!)
Oh man, an FP Menasor in the same general height/mass/scale as Colossus & Giant would be absolutely amazing and would be incredibly hard to resist for Loophole I'd imagine too. :p:D
Also, as you ordered yours through TFsource man; Due to it being over the $150USD threshold, were you able to qualify for free postage? or is that for US Domestic shipping only? :o
Oh wow, that looks like a fairly easy fix too (TJDuckett is one insanely creative bloke!) as that has so far been the only major irk for me out of the entire set thus far (From what I've seen via Video Reviews ;)), will definitely have to keep that in-mind.
Green Giant gift set pre ordered :) Herc and giant will look great next to each other :)
It doesn't say anything special, it certainly doesn't come up in red saying 'look how much you saved etc' but when the pre-order came up the other day I put it in the cart to check postage and it was $85-ish, then the new site went live and suddenly it's down to $49-ish.
Then that isn't a discount at all. They just readjusted their international shipping fees to the correct amount.
In total, tfsource have the set listed about $10 cheaper than BBTS and about $17 more than RK.
Pre-ordered the green Giant from RK.
It cost me so much it hurts, but I figure if I don't get it now it will probably cost twice the amount later...
Any news of green giant? Been pretty quiet for awhile now. Delayed?
