Wouldn't anybody with common sense take you up on that bet, since Generations toys are, by definition, Deluxe-sized.

Bruticus horrible colors confirmed:

Why did they go with this?
Colours for vortex/brawl definitely not very good choices IMO, but that pic of the transformation does make him look much better!
Wow. It's amazing how Bruticus has gone from:
YESSS!!!!
to
YEP!
to
ALRIGHT...
to
MAYBE...?
to
WAIT, WHAT THE F*** IS THAT S**T?
All in the space of a couple of weeks. The colouring doesn't completely ruin it for me, but the MASSIVE emptiness from behind sure does. I don't know...I might still pick them up, but only if I can get them cheap from somewhere.
The hints of 40+ generations figs plus a possible Voyager Predaking are exciting, however.
Other little things I like are the design for Prime's Ironhide. It's a great mix of G1 and Movie, and hopefully a deluxe toy does it justice enough that it may even possibly replace the crappy Classics Ironhide we have at the moment (one can only hope...).
It just shows that you can't rely on Hasbro for the proper combiner experience. Everything is not lost though, a Japanese release with better colors may bring a huge improvement and I am positive that a 3rd party will come out with a kick ass upgrade kit. Wouldn't surprise me if they replace Onslaught with a Voyager class figure to fix the proportions and add lots of accessories to cement the game character model look.
Like it's often the case, Hasbro's failing is the 3rd parties gain.
Tis a shame. To be fair, from a kid's point of view, this is still a massive improvement over Supreme Devastator and the PCC line. And while it may have been better to do Onslaught as a Voyager, how would he be sold? You couldn't have one Voyager in a wave by itself, so they'd have to do others. Maybe Grimlock could work as a Voyager but it's a tough proposition. The obvious way to do it was to do it as a giftset and not as separate toys, but anyway.
Yeah it is an improvement from Hasbro's recent history but it is hardly an achievement. Hasbro has done combiners much better in the past and the technology and toy design advancement clearly exists. Hasbro just decided to ignore it for some reason use PCCs as their design platform.
The colours don't bother me half as much as his odd proportions do. I get the impression that all of the individual Combaticons were designed first and foremost and Bruticus was a complete afterthought. "How can we slap it together without using rubber bands?" was probably that days meeting agenda. Onslaught's arms sticking out like little reverse T-Rex hands are laughable. Swindle...Is he even transformed in the slightest? Just looks like he's been blu-tac'd on while in alt mode.
Oh boy, not a fan of those colours at all.
And along with the cancellation of DOTM Soundwave I'm not in a mindset of trusting Hasbro's 40 Generations toys announcement at the moment.
And I will NEVER have the G2 rap commercial out of my head. Still buying it
His colours look more like Energon Bruticus than G2 Bruticus. Strange that they'd change the colours THAT much though.
Damn strange colour choice.
Anyone else expecting an upgrade for FoC Shockwave? One that makes him into a space gun and voyager height ala battle tanker for RtS Prime?
Expecting? No, but I'd probably buy it if it came with a smaller gun hand and bigger feet.
I'm going against the grain here and saying I love the choice of colours.
Yeah, I know... I'm sick :p
Then I am afflicted too. :D
Considering an on-floor Hasbro Rep at the Toy Fair said that these colours are not final; I'm not going to take a Facebook post as gospel until I see the lot of 'em 1st hand, in package & on shelves - To me, that pic is purely to take heat away from the aborted effort of the previous one utilised in the Game Informer Magazine (the funny thing is it's still mis-transformed) .
At the end of the day though, I'm sure Takara will want to do their own colour scheme leaning much more towards G1 but as of late that might be a debatable prospect too. :o
Still not sure about Bruticus but will def pick up that Jazz and the Shockwave to expand the WFC/FOC themed part of the collection.
Hopefully Hasbro has just jumped the gun (a bit too excited me thinks) to show off these figures (im looking at you Bruticus) and are just showing the prototypes (which by the way are 99% correct according to Hasbro) in the wrong colours and mistransformed. Either that they are doing it on purpose to get everyone talking about them.
if the game(pc or ps3) is as good as the figures( i hope :) ) these will be acquired for my little shelf space i have left.......hehehe:D.
:confused:By the looks of all this ( well most of it) Hasbro might as well completely stop the transformer line as it doesn't seem to be keeping anyone happy . Let's just leave it all to the third parties who have used Hasbro/Tak ideas, Pay triple for a figure and be very happy.

Most of us that are disappointed by Hasbro's effort have still stated that they will buy the toy. As of now, the biggest disappointment is to do with Hasbro's colors which are unnecessarily awful no matter which way you look at it so some of us are in 'wait and see' mode until a Japanese release is announced which will hopefully have a better color scheme.
Not our fault nor the 3rd parties that Hasbro messed it up. In irony of what you said, I am sure that the 3rd parties will come up with a way to fix all the failings as they did with the Crossfire sets which will cause a lot of demand on this Bruticus benefiting both Hasbro and the fans.
Hoo Bloody Ray:p:D and I like Gaudy colours. I just find it funny that we complain about the U.S fans complaining but seem to do a lot of complaining ourselves:rolleyes: I'll save my complaints for when these hit the shelf and we are still being asked to pay exorbidant prices compared to other countries. There has been enough time for the high Australian dollar to affect the prices we pay, It certainly seems to have affected the electronics sector in general.
As a whole I'm not liking Bruticus that much at them moment (that may change when I own him) but I'm loving the individual 'bots and I really like the new colours. Especially that they got rid of that gold on blast off, he's got more of a shockwave feel about him now :-)
New Colours, Old colours - I don't really care either way as we're never going to get exactly what we want, so regardless, I'll still be eagerly waiting for these to become available online as there is no way I'm paying circa $!50.00AU for all 5 of these at a local B'n'M. ;)
With each new picture of the Combaticons posted I like them less and less.
brawl looks like a yes! not sure about the others though
the only one i dont like is swindle. Im mean look at him. What the heck happened?
Bruticus still looks like he suffers from the chicken sendrom but Ive seen a video from collection DX at toy fair and it doesnt look that bad in video as it does in picture format.
VGM out...
