Heavy Labor is shipping this week :)
Courtesy of Seibertron.com, via TFClub's weibo page, some new images of the TFC Hercules have been released:
Courtesy of TFW2005.com, TFC Toys have released some further images today of Structor (Not-Scrapper) and Dr. Crank (Not-Hook) as well as a shot of the finalised Combiner Head for Hercules (Not-Devastator):
Nice Heavy Labor Shipping notice in inbox :)
not-scrapper looks effingfantastic!!!
Dr Crank Preorder is up at Robotkingdom
So is Structor
Not Scrapper seems like the best of them to date, still not convinced that he's worth the cost, but he does look good.
For size comparison
You know I was kinda thinking it would be larger than that. Think I will just get the other version when it happens.
I thought it would be bigger too but oh well i'm invested now.
I'm so jelly of anyone who had the $$$ to buy all these guys. It's an amazing set but I can't afford $100 + postage per unit. But damn are they nice. I'm also excited about the maketoy "not devastator" too but where can I order one and how much will it be?
heavylabour arrived today havent had time yet to have play though
If you order from RBK, theyre about $95AUD with postage- with the current exchange rate. Plus, if you do what i did, and preorder Dr Crank and Structor, PLUS get Heavylabor who's shipping now, combined shipping is $32USD (individually, shipping is $16USD) so you're actually saving shipping on one figure!
not Scrapper arrived today hes pretty cool
edit:
after a small play- simple transformation, gun only just fits into his hand so can pop out pretty easily, head isnt on a balljoint, better articulation for his arms would of been nice. His robot mode does look cool but out of the 3 released so far i would say this is the weakest one.
So I finally opened up my Exgraver this weekend past. I had intended on getting the set of these JUST IN CASE my initial preference of Maketoys didn't work out, and also because regardless this looked to be a pretty unique and pretty massive Transformer.
However, I have decided to cancel that entire plan.
The QC on this thing is atrocious. The feet were missassembled. There is somewhat of an automorph in that when you pull the front of the foot down, the back comes down equidistantly. These were completely misaligned. After taking out the four screws and realigning the feet, i noticed most of the screws simply did not grip on the way back in. Mind you, I wasn't the slightest bit forceful, but regardless, they were mostly threaded. Additionally, one of the screws holding the codpiece together was screwed in so tightly, the plastic around it had cracked. And that's just the QC.
The transformation is incredibly simple. There's too much disassembling/reassembling, and the robot aesthetically simply does not fit in in any line I can think of.
I no longer have any intention to purchase the rest. I will contact TFC about repairing my current unit and put it up for sale. Maketoys or bust.
thats sux about the QC on yours jaydisc, i received not-hook today and the only real QC problem i had was one of the pegs was a b^&*@ to get out.
anyway i put what i have of devastator together and took a snap with my phone.

I'm getting the strong feeling those guys are going to be my christmas present to me. Because I've been a good boy.
I am more convinced than ever that waiting for the Maketoys release was the way to go.
I was about to say that the feet were not broken or mis-assembled but simply out of alignment, push the toes all the way down and they come loose of each other allowing one to be moved independently of the other, but then you mentioned the screws. Ouch, sorry to hear about that.
I don't think you would like Heavy Labor either as there is a serious flaw in his waist. The plastic gears inside that worked the forward articulation would become stripped after too much use, much like how Exgravers original shovel stressed the black plastic to breaking point, this ground down the grey plastic teeth inside. All is not lost though as TFC are said to be packing a fix for HL with one of the last two.
The other two appear to be fine, for now. Time will tell. I am kinda disapointed with Cranks lack of string.
Also, I suggest at least glancing through the tfc toys hercules megathread on TFW. It is the most active thread on these anywhere.
wait, so the Dump truck breaks if you try and play with it?
Well, all of a sudden I don't feel like spending 400 bucks on something that defective.
I agree. Aesthetically it's superior, and being smaller figures there's more of a reliance on ball joints rather than ratchet joints. So the worst case QC scenario is that some clear nail polish might be needed.
The QC on their Prime Battle Tanker is apparently pretty good too (head snapping aside).
The final coloured pictures of TFC Bonecrusher and Mixmaster only cement my decision further - neither of them looks anything like the characters they are referencing, which is true for 4 out of 6 of the TFC toys IMHO. Maketoys nails it with Hook, Scavenger, Mixmaster and Scrapper (although Scrapper is more an updated classics-verse reference rather than an out-and-out G1 copy). Neither company seems to have nailed Long Haul, being the middle joint that's forgiveable plus his G1 design wouldn't translate well anyway. Instead Maketoys is channeling the Bayverse Long Haul (not necessarily a bad thing), while TFC were channeling a stack of bricks. Not sure what was so hard to get right on Bonecrusher but 5 out of 6 isn't bad! :D
For me the figures HAVE to work individually and not just in combined mode. I've read a lot of posts from guys saying they don't care how accurate the smaller bots are since he'll just stay in combined mode. I personally don't see the point in a $600 statue.
The ONLY thing I can say against Maketoys is that they're yet to put up any proper pre-orders anywhere, and that we have to wait until later next year to get the G1 colouring. More time to save I guess.
It's more like $600 for this TFC release. $400 is the approx price for the maketoys version
Yeh people are no doubt getting antsy over some pre order news, but I'd rather wait a little longer and get something refined with few flaws inbetween - than what jayd had to endure :p
Maybe we should organise a group buy for Maketoys for different states to save on shipping? Could have done it on TFC's as well but too late now I guess?
I'm planning on doing a bulk buy of a few things at the same time. Can't see too many Tasmanians being up for the Giant! :-P
Another eventuality for the TFC figure will no doubt be another third party doing more G1-styled heads for all the figures...
those are really nice custom paint jobs.
just got my scrapper and hook today and devastator is looking pretty good as good as a gestalt can be with only half its limbs. looking forward to completing this expensive beast in 2012 and the new g1 visor looks sweet.

I was uhm-ing and ah-ing as to which I want- MakeToys or TFC Toys... and decided to go with both...
Jay: Sorry to hear about your QC issues - that's poo - I think mine's the 2nd release so no issues with him...
That said, the rachet point for my Scrapper (when in combined mode) was completely useless.. Plastic tolerance-wise I lucked out in the opposite direction. That said, some 'ingenious' tinkering later and I don't think I'll ever have a problem with it again :) (I fixed it with a ... bulldog clip ... haha)
That said, when it comes down to it I got impatient waiting for Maketoys' Devy - but am glad I got this too - individual modes are OK, not great, and the heads really just could use some ball-joint action as the bots aren't as bad as I thought they'd be - just that they can't emote as well as the Maketoys ones without better articulated head/necks
I have to say they feel bloody sturdy though. Looks and feels great combined. My make-shift combined mode is NOT sturdy though :b
The last component mixmaster ships tomorrow apparently! i've ordered and will post pictures once i get it - probably next week if all goes well.
