I don't think he's a board member. Looks like a private dealer with "16 years experience in tf trading".
If you wanted, you could each post what your max bid amount would be, and see if one of you is way higher than the others, making it pointless bidding against that person.
Otherwise, since there are three of you, and each really want the toy, it'd probably be best that you each bid on it to like normal. I think if one of you really wants it more, they will win it, but if only one of you ends up bidding, it might go cheap enough to annoy someone else who would have been willing to pay more.
This auction is retarded. "if you want an item that can qualify for an AFA grading then u came to the right place". The guy has "REPAINTED EVERY SINGLE PIECE (except the red parts)". Painting all over an incomplete toy and then calling it "DEEP NEAR MINT.(I PERSONALLY THINK HE IS MINT BUT PEOPLE JUDGEMENTS DIFFER SO I WROTE NEAR MINT)" doesn't increase its value, it diminishes it.
Geez, what a douche.
Wait, someone else called Tom who collects Transformers and likes to tel other people what they think things are worth? And you found the question? What a startling coincidence!
Anyway, I sent him a "question" of my own..
Hi there! I came here looking for an item that qualifies for an AFA grading, but all I see is some mediocre repaint of a loose figure. How will it qualify for an AFA grading when it doesn't even have the box, let alone isn't sealed in it?
I also took your advice and searched for a complete Fort Max and found one sold complete but yellowed for under $600, one complete in box for $900 and one mint in box for $1500, all in USD.
Speaking of "mint", do you know what the term means? It isn't relative, you can't say "in my opinion the item is mint". If something is "mint" then it's new - untouched - pristine. It's an absolute. So how, in your opinion, does something that's been opened, played with, discoloured and repainted qualify as untouched?
Perhaps you should try reading those guides you sell, and maybe a dictionary while you're at it.
Yep, there's only one tom in the world. Spot on!
As for your reply, I think it was a bit full on. He'll prob email an essay back to you.
Seeing stuff like this I don't know weather to laugh or cry...
"Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone."
And so:
