Do it... :p

I held off, but it was very tempting. Hope some lucky kid find the one I would have bought under the Xmas tree.

Which would be one thing but last time a lot of the stock didn't even make it onto the shelves, it went straight from the back into the scalpers hands.
I know when I was looking no one mentioned lists and I was told for weeks that they hadn't come in and to try the next day, only to be finally told by someone else (a few weeks afterwards) that no they had gotten them in but there was a list and the stock was never put out.
When the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing it causes drama and stuffs around everyone involved.
Time is money, and they wasted a lot of my time, the way that it was handled was incredibly poor and soured me on ever shopping at BigW again
^This.
What upset me from my experience was telling me late Wednesday that there was no stock and then telling me early Thursday that all was sold out... That to me was horrid customer service especially seeing that I spoke specifically to the toy department staff who knew what the "Big Green Transformer" was... so no excuses but I'll point the finger directly to my local Big W here instead of the general lot.
My local Big W can stuff it. Lol :p
Anyway, I do hope this time round some lucky kids will get this for Christmas and that there's enough to go around for those desperate for this :)
I don't see how you can blame Big W... it's not there fault there are scalpers. They probably didn't know it would be a wanted item, 'it's a kids toy'. I think it is kind of rude to insult staff from a store for other people's wrong doings.
Just my 2c.
And all employees aren't to blame either... so be careful when generalising based on your own personal experience.
I've had my own issues with staff at a couple of BigW stores being uncooperative and not communicating among themselves, but I won't make a grouping statement because we have BigW staff as members (and most of the other major retailers as well).
I am not blaming anyone but only my feedback that bigw could do better.
Even that scalper, I wouldn't really care but his photo did give people a pissed off for the most of the people hunting for one and cannot get one .
I think he was exposed reading back that he goes to some fair etc...?
Hence why I felt the photo was unnecessary and he created an auto hate.
Bigw my issue was the system for layby and reserve was not great as they relied on a written book and not something in the system. I was offered one way later after I placed an order with PC . I wasn't prepared to be a PC customer back then either and the story may have changed if bigw was more organised.
I had easier times buying metroplex from target than this toy.
Moving on, if anyone wants a Devastator for $150 with a decent shopping experience head to toymate, not sure if it's all stores but the one at macarthur square just marked them down from $230, saving you even more ;)
KP probably knows more than me but it looks like not all stores have gotten their stock yet. Ah the joys of distribution at Christmas time.
There's nothing any retail staff are allowed to do to stop scalpers of non-restricted items. We are not the toy police, we are just retail workers. It sucks to not be able to by item because a scalper bought all the stock, I have experienced that myself (great Bumblebee shortage of '07). But unless it's a restricted item like baby formula was till recently we have no authority to stop them.
