I've given up waiting for WFC Megs and Soundwave so I bought them online last night. Don't want to risk paying prices that we saw for Animated Arcee.

Yeah, but not in the same assortment case... just close enough release from the source to be found at almost the same time at different stores (like the 2 waves of new SWTFs here - same time, but different chains).
When we have assortments only a month apart or less (like the TF2 early waves being only weeks apart), delays in shipping or restocking can cause a 'bottleneck' at Hasbro warehouse, and we have multiple waves appearing at the same time in stores.
