Ode to a Grasshopper

Rassa frassin' Japanese collectors rassa frassin' buying up all the MP13s last weekend before I can get my hands on one rassa frassin'...*goes off and sulks*:p

Also, where are the pics of MP Soundwave with all of his little G1 cassette buddies?:(

Now for something that's not an MP Soundwave...

Just when I was feeling a little... unenthusiastic... about recent TF toylines, I get something like this which reinvigorates my passion for collecting.
Another combiner for my combiner collection!!
Sure they're not perfect, but damn are they fun! And really quite nicely engineered. (Well Grimlock's a messy bundle of comprise, and somehow Wedge missed out on being issued with a set of heel spurs when he joined the Autobot army. Nevermind).
Quite like the combiner mechanism too (if you can call it that). Something a bit different.

Got Energon Hotshot/Roadblock, Towline in my room and Inferno is pending. I'm pre' sure all I need is Checkpoint and both Prowls. Correct me if I be wrong.

Lucky find for me tonight as was in Target, St Mary's and there on the bottom shelf was a Prime Vehicon :). So picked him up for $28.00. So if anyone is still after one? Might let it go or keep it.

P.S. I haven't done a pic as I'm to tired and on my way to bed. work beckons again :(

That's good work. There's one more variant in the line: Inferno Volt aka Roadblock - do not recall seeing it being domestically released (somebody or Gok will correct me). A slight retool of the Inferno mould, with a new head and a little hook at the end of the missile launcher to imitate a hook crane.

Rodimus was also recoloured into Botcon 2010 Thunderclash and Wheeljack was recoloured into Botcon 2010 Slicer.

And of course, depending on how deep your pockets are: SL Fire Convoy and Black Rodimus.

I'm pretty sure It was released here, as I have seen it in my collection in storage. And I had not yet found the internet at that stage as I was buying from retail stores. But would have to double check that so don't quote me on it.:D

As for me I got my hands on a few random bits and bobs over the past couple. I got all of this except for Deadend Prime which is brand new from some old fun thrift shopping (I think you call it :D). Found some parts of G1 bruticas (Vortex, Swindle and a little broken up Onslaught). Astrotrain with a little wing damage. The Arc missing the small transformer it comes with. Animated Bee and Megs. A movie Blackout. RTS Cyclonus Some Giant Optimus Voice Changer Helmet. And some random other things, couple of hundred heroclix from 2002 and three 8" Avenger Figures. Quite random, but still, for a small handful of change. Pretty awesome.

I do have Road Block, bought him from Kmart when I was 11, my first second energon figure from memory. And there's a store in Melb that sill has him. Either way, if I had the money, I'd go for black rodimus and sl prime, but the price for them two, I could get year of the snake omega and prime.

Darn it! I really wanted Roadblock a few years back, but had yet to expand my hunting grounds outside of my local Westfields (Parra) or discover TF forums. Not entirely willing to pay $50 via eBay for it now - for roughly the same price I managed to get MISB Checkpoint & Prowl last year.

Well got some Transformers finally while in Japan. I'm sure you will recognize these.
Got MP-13 for 13,200 YEN, around 2000 YEN discount over RRP. Although I think some online places were selling slightly cheaper, but was cool to walk into Akihabra Yodibashi Camera place and pick one up first hand :)

Nice! What do you think of them? I'm pretty keen to get Ultra Magnus, but I'm kind of on the fence about Starscream and Kickback.
