I saw them around the Targets in San Francisco back in mid October, didn't think it was news back then
The release of the second wave has been so sporadic.... probably because stores might have been having trouble selling the first wave of their exclusive line PLUS the regular figures (that aren't moving).
At the time Target signed up for them at the start of the year, they would have been told by Hasbro that a special movie was going to feature the Predacons and their exclusive line of toys.... while the regular figures would be selling off of the new 2013 cartoon episodes.
But how many large-size "Beast Hunters" toys (regular and Target exclusive) have even been in the cartoon and movie this year to sell them?
Optimus x2, Shockwave, Predaking X2, Dark Steel, Sky Lynx, Ultra Magnus, Smokescreen, black Bumblebee (but only the Weaponizer version was the right mould to match the cartoon).
That's 10 out of the 30 large-size (DLX, VOY, ULT, Weaponizer) Beast Hunters toys released this year, being directly promoted in the 3rd year of the cartoon.
In the Cyberverse sizes (Legion & CMDR) we only have 9 of the 36 figures that are in the cartoon, and look the same.
An expensive cartoon may not be able to introduce too many new "toys" each year... but they need a better balance than 19 out of 66 toys being either characters not in the cartoon, or significantly mutated versions that look nothing like the ones in the cartoon (which is a primary motivating factor of kids and fans - to get "souvenirs" of the show and characters they are fans of).
That means the stores have to rely on established fans to want to buy the other 47 toys this year, based on their own interest in the line, loyalty to those specific characters, or even interest in the Predacon theme itself (which was sooo over-rated, because we got a whole year of the theme plastered all over everything, but only 3 Predacons featured in the cartoon, and yet Hasbro spat out 25 Predacon toys for us to buy).
Green Optimus is a good example - what is the motivation for buying either of the two green Optimus toys? It was not featured in the cartoon... and is not a colour scheme one would think of for that iconic character. The smaller one has some appeal to those who want the new mould but not another red Optimus toy, but what is the point of the big expensive weaponizer one? The Retailers are stuck with trying to move it themselves if there is no TV or advertising support.
(that's why Australian Retailers didn't pick up the Generations line this year, because at ToyFair it didn't have any TV or Movie support signage on it - so they go for the uglier toys that aren't fan-favourites, because the Retailers don't have to do any work selling them... Hasbro has to do the work to get the cartoons or commercials on TV and Paramount does the work promoting the Movies)
The YOTH Starscream toy has been found at ToysRUs store in California, for US$110. That is quite expensive for America, even for TRU over there, because the original Starscream was only US$50.
Sure, it was 8.5 years ago (July 2005), but none of the size classes have doubled in price during that time, and this isn't even a new mould.
BBTS is slated for a February 1st release, which is only a few days away.
And all YoTH preorders are currently sold out at BbTS
Just a few weeks after they arrived at BBTS, the Scoop/Minicon wave of Deluxe Generations have been found at a US Target store.
Which would mean they would be here soon... if we were getting the Generations line in Australia. :p
The new series of "Rescan" Rescue Bots toys have just been found at a TRU in Singapore.
And it sounds like the Generations Wave with Rhinox and Doubledealer haven't been seen at US Retail before now, despite BBTS having them in a month ago.
They have now been sighted at a retail store in America.
The wave of Deluxe Generations with Waspinator and Skids in it have been released in Canada.
Looks like the Deluxe Generations toys in Canada don't come packed with a comic, most likely due to a requirement of having English and French... which would be too costly to produce (to re-letter and reprint in a smaller run).
The YOTH Optimus and Generations Whirl have been found in American retail in the last week.
Hobby Search has the Takara Tomy Metroplex discounted to 11,400 yen atm.

Shipping will probably be about 40-50 bucks on top but if you wanted this version for the two guns and the colour differences and such then this is probably the cheapest you may ever get it barring absurd luck
Generations Swerve and Cosmos just found at a Canadian retailer... and with BBTS getting some in April, these should be showing up more frequently around the world now (except here of course).... because Australian Major Retailers follow certain rules (like prioritising toys with TV/Movie support so that they don't have to do any work to sell the product), so wouldn't jump on a good thing like this anyway (and cry poor when more and more people shop online and import, as if it wasn't their fault to start with).
The link states ¥17,100 for Metroplex?
Looks that way. I thought it may have been a clearance until they're gone sale as opposed to a weekly one.
The last wave of Beast Hunters Voyager Optimus & Predaking have been found in US retail stores... some months after they were in stock at the Hasbro online store, and at other sources like BBTS.
The Battle Masters Fight Night pack has been found at US retail as well (it was found at a Toyworld here a couple weeks back). Not sure if this was supposed to be held back with Movie toys in May.
And the second wave of Custom Kreons have been found in Taiwan, which is mostly Gen1 characters - Galvatron, Hound, Cliffjumper, Dreadwind, Jazz, Predaking. These might end up here, as the first wave was found in one or two ToysRUs stores here.
(third wave has Movie characters, which will come out in May)
Hi all, ill be in Chile for the next few months on holiday so I though id keep a look out on any items we don't get back home. So far I have found Sky Lynx & Dark Steel in a store called Ripley's. Think of it like a Myer's or David Jones. Im guessing they got the Target exclusives that we barely got back home. They also had the five pack Abominus & 2 pack Prime & Predaking. Didn't check the prices on the latter 2 (as im not interested in them) but Dark Steel was selling for about $34.00AUD & Sky Lynx for about $26.00AUD give or take some cents. Ended up getting Sky Lynx and will be getting Dark Steel next week. Ill keep everyone posted on everything else as I se them. So far no AOE products.
The final wave BH Deluxes have been found in the UK (the upsized Legions).
Rescue Bots Rescan toys were found in Asia and Europe a few months ago, but have now been found in America.
With the resurgent interest in RB toys here (at Kmart and TRU), perhaps they will show up here soon as well.
The person finding them notes that they are smaller than previous convertible RB figures, and are a couple of dollars less as well. (US$8 instead of US$10)
The BH Legions we have here, have been found in England... which isn't a surprise, since our Hasbro had to order in the European stock to meet demand here.
The interesting thing is seeing their price in England - 3 Pounds each, which is about AU$4... half our price. :(
And AoE Voyager Prime & Grimlock in Canada
http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=52395
The final BH Commander Class final wave is also out in England, at about half the price of our Commander class figures.
Also, the BH Titans have been found in America, which look smaller and more rubbery than the TFPrime Titans. And cheaper, at US$8 (compared to the $10 small ones and $20 big ones from TFPrime).
Oddly enough, they've done away with putting them in a box this time too... just attaching them to a hook and description card.
Just to point out, the UK prices reported on BH toys are from discount stores (similar to the Reject Shop here), so the prices at mainstream retailers are usually higher and comparable to our prices. That said, mainstream retailers in the UK tend to discount and special offer items such as these much more frequently, presumably because of the increased density of competition between toy stores, department stores, and supermarket chains.
The Generations Legends wave of Tailgate and Shrapnel have appeared in the Philippines, so should soon appear at the various online sources that people here have to buy their Generations from.
This wave is a bit late though, as it was originally slated as a January wave, and the other size classes were getting released before their slated release dates.
DLX w1 (Waspy wave) was meant to be January, but came out in November
VOY w1 (Rhinox wave) was meant to be January, but came out in December
DLX w2 (Scoop wave) was meant to be March, but came out in January (and earlier in Asia)
VOY w2 (Whirl) was meant to be March, but came out in January
Unfortunately that means a long wait if the next waves are not early.
Don't know if this news worthy or not, but Toys R Us Japan website has a lot of AoE toys shipping on the 19th of may.
Legends Swerve & Cosmos now found at US retail, so should be at online stores like BBTS and Amazon soon.
The next batch of Kreo Combiners have been found in America - the new original four, that are labelled as AOE, but as yet, don't appear to have anything to do with the Movie.
As the actual movie toys start appearing at the odd major store here, another store chain in Nth America have put them out in different states.
The mini Mr Potato Heads have shown up in the Philippines. These should be coming here.
The mini Rescue Bots Dinosaurs have been found in New Zealand, so should show up here as well.
The Generations Deluxe toys in Brazil have no comic (because of the language), but the backing card wasn't altered to fill all that empty space... or remove the "comic included" bit.
Pics of the "brontosaurus" Heatwave, also in New Zealand.
And the small Evolutions Packs have been found in Hong Kong.
So we're looking at $25.16 & $62.92 AUD for the Small & Large T&N sets. Seems a little rich TrU charging an extra $30 for the larger set
The big-ish Rescue Bots electronic Optimus Primal (turns into a T-rex with truck detailing), has been found in America for US$35 (midway between Voyager and Leader pricing and size).
