I got to wave 2 on Friday as Jazz:D... and passed you on my friends leaderboard in the process:p

Finally got this on my PC cos... you know, Australia never released the PC version and I don't have either a PS3 or Xbox 360...
Finished the Decepticon campaign in 3 hours... give or take.... and it was straight too... didn't get much sleep... have to go to work... argh...
It is great and while I'm really late to the game and know what would happen storywise, the game is still very impressive. I hope to finish the Autobot campaign today after work. :)
I played the online multiplayer mode tonight for the first time and as predicted, I got my tailpipe handed back to me by other more experienced players! I don't have a microphone so I can't tell them that it was my first time... but somehow I suspect that wouldn't have helped (if anything it might've made them target me more :p)
Anyway, my online player name is, surprisingly, GoktimusPrime. My Autobot characters are all orange and blue (colours of Optimal Optimus) and my Decepticons are all pink and cyan (the colours of G2 Breakdown, hehe). I also noticed that other players were cooperating with each other. This could possibly because they have mics and can talk to each other. Is there a way I can at least type to other players? (being able to communicate by text is better than nothing at all) How do I add players to my friends list? I tried searching for gekisou but couldn't find anything... can't remember if I typed it all lower case or if I typed "Gekisou"... might need to try again next time I'm logged in.
But yeah... getting continually pwned isn't much fun. :/
Thanks to the 10x 'weekend', was able to get prime mode, just as it ended. Got all trophies now.
I did start getting into Multiplayer a bit, but still prefer Escalation, as it doesn't feel like it coud get personal. I prevented someone from completing one of the personal challanges, and they were a bit annoyed (they had a headset). And if I notice someone killing me a couple times, I sometimes stubbornly hunt them down for revenge... which usually gets me killed even more. :p
A couple of the higher ranking abilities in MP were fun though.
Leader class has a 'Martyrdom' ability, which has you drop your mines when killed. I had the 'extra mine' abililty as well, so I started getting into close combat just to die, and then see/hear my 2 mines kill the opponent straight after. It was even better when they have headsets... :D
That was actually the most fun I had with all of MP.
I thought Soldier class was the worst at first, because I kept dying so easily, but somehow it was the only class I got MVP... twice! Really unexpected.
It ended up being a bit more fun with the higher ranking ability that gives you an ion cannon with your weapons beacon. I created some carnage then... :p
Still gonna do saturday nights though.
I tried to host some games last night, but couldn't seem to get either of the others online at the time, to be able to join. I was surprised that I could start Conquest without a minimum, but wasn't able to accumulate any points though. I wonder if all private matches don't earn points. Hopefully find out next saturday.
Last weekend was my very first time to play MP... so for example I would get 1500XP for conquering a node... so I guess this must mean it's normally 150XP for taking a node.
I started off on Level 0 for everything on Saturday - going up against level 20-25 players(is level 25 the highest?), and ended up on Level 9 for my Leader and Soldier.
I think you can also get bonus points for killing people after you've died (and before respawning).Quote:

And of course, when I get back I've respawned. One kid at school told me that some players on other games will face directly upward with their weapon aimed at the sky to indicate AFK... which doesn't work either (i.e. other players don't care and take the free kill opportunity).
Bah!
I saw one player yesterday evening who was just standing there - clearly AFK. So I just jumped up and down and transformed back and forth in front of him for a while before moving on. Didn't kill him though. Maybe cos it was 10XP weekend... but I wouldn't be surprised if people still behaved that way outside of 10XP days. :p
Damn I want a PS3 so I can play this online with you guys before you get bored with it, or the next one comes out :p
AAARGH! My WFC is stuffing around with me tonight for some unknown reason. Here's what happened...
Started up the program
Logged on for multiplayer
Looked for a Conquest game to join
The "Finding Game" box then suddenly disappeared without me cancelling it. Weird.
Tried again - entire program SHUTS DOWN.
Starts game again -- NO start up menu appears (ya know, where it says "Play Game, Uninstall" etc. - it just started the game straight up. Also never happened before.
Sign in and try to join a game. Find game menu shuts down. Try again - whole program shuts down.
So I run a quick scan and 20 threats are deleted. Run program again - same result.
So now I'm backing up my system to run a full scan... but graaargh... I would really HATE to have to uninstall the game and LOSE all my save games and multiplayer characters. :(

That was an added bonus. To kill someone outright gets a set amount of points, but just letting them kill you and killing them 'after-death' gets that same amount of points PLUS points for killing after death PLUS points for killing the person who last killed you. And you don't lose any points for dying... so it just became the best way to make points, AND was just so darn funny, I almost cracked a rib from laughing so hard. :p
It's an open voice-over, so everyone will hear anyone using one. It'd be good if you could just talk to select people, so that you could strategise without the opposition hearing.
Were you able to hear me at all last night?
And does this mean I'm the first on this board that has completed the trophies/achievments for WFC? I thought with being so late to get the game & console, and slow getting into it, that others would have finished by now. I was so sure Sleeve would have beaten me to it at least...
Yep, with the last trophy (unlocking Prime Mode - which I thought was automatic, but you have to actually 'ask' for it when elligible), the platinum trophy was awarded.Quote:
Did you get the platinum trophy, griffin?
Just the people in the game, and lobby, you are currently joined in will hear you.
People with headsets have a speaker icon next to their name. And whoever is speaking - their headset icon in the lobby screen shows who is speaking, while in the game, their name appears on the top left of the screen in white.
Okay, so this evening I tried to play MP and it said that the WFC server was down. Nuts. So I played solo campaign for a while then tried again and I successfully got into a game - hooray! But I think I was lagging because there was this icon appearing near the top right of my screen that looked like a computer network with a red "X" flashing over it. And I found that my attacks were completely ineffectual, and I would be losing health and getting hit by unseen forces, then dying. I couldn't even see opponents killing me with melee attacks! So I strongly suspect that I was lagging. :( I quit the game and joined again, but the icon was still there and I had the same problems.
Keep in mind that I'm complete gaming noob and an even bigger noob when it comes to online gaming. So does that icon I describe mean a loss of connectivity and are the symptoms that I described consistent with lag? Everyone else in the game seemed fine, so I guess the lag might be on my end.
Spot on Gok. Last night I was suffering the same thing in Co-op and Escalation, but it was fine in Conquest. Some nights are worse than others, it doesn't help that I only have ADSL 1. Anyway it can be quite frustrating because melee attacks have to be timed perfectly to be effective and with lag you have no hope.
Saw today in the booklet with Dirge and Blurr, the advertisment for the WFC game has the Ramjet unlock code for the Decepticon DS - 9871. Looking online, it is either that or 99871 (an extra 9 at the front).
I also found that the Silverbolt unlock for the Autobot DS game is 10141.
Too late to be news, so figured I could just post it here.
ah reading griffins comments reminds me of my strategies. I'm sad that he didn't start playing before my ps3 was stolen cause I'm sure we would have had awesome fun.
Still looking for a reasonably priced ps3 this xmas.
Both versions are great. I really hated the TF movie DS games but the WfC version is fun... if somewhat irritating when I keep dying at the same spot. Still, I would get it if it was cheap. :)
Wasn't sure where else to post this...
This is what my desktop wallpaper looks like:

I think it's a pretty neat effect - Optimus Prime from his distant past imposed upon Optimus Prime engaged in battle on Earth with the Decepticons in "present day" (1984/5 :p). I also like how WFC and G1 Optimus Prime happen to be facing each other too. Sometimes when I'm waiting for the game to load, I like to imagine that G1 Prime is engaged in this battle, and then he gets all reminiscent about how the war began and how he feels about continuing to battle Megatron millions of years later. ;)
WOOOHOOO!! I finally finished playing WFC Solo Player campaign!! :D (took me long enough) -- ironically it was easier to beat Trypticon by staying out in the open and hammering away at his ports rather than taking cover and occasionally running out to shoot him!
The ending credits were pretty enjoyable to watch. Yeah I know you can see the credits at any time in the Extras section, but I personally prefer viewing the credits after I've clocked the game... feels like a reward to me for having persevered ('specially when you're a big gaming Noob like me ;)). So I'd never seen the credits till now. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Stan Bush singing a new version of an old TF song.
It's the same tune as Ground Zero, but some of the lyrics have been changed, while others remain the same. Anywhere, here's a comparison between the two:
Ground Zero
In a cold, far away world
A battle is raging 'tween evil and good
From the stars, they came here to Earth
Caught in their struggle through the whole universe
Robotic warriors giving their all
Fight in disguise, 'til the victor stands tall
Ground Zero
Nowhere to go
Got to be willing to fight
Ground Zero
One thing they know
Only the strong will survive
Ground Zero
A lone soldier fighting the war
Used the power and wisdom
From those gone before
Leads them on to victory
Lights their darkest hour
Their one destiny
Truth has its moment and right always wins
Prepare for the fight, let the battle begin
Ground Zero
Nowhere to go
Got to be willing to fight
Ground Zero
One thing they know
Only the strong will survive
Ground Zero
Galaxy's worried they'll retreat
To this darkest corner
With the enemy gone
They will finally live on
As they revel in their victory
Truth has its moment and right always wins
Prepare for the fight, let the battle begin
Ground Zero
All is not lost
Evil's defeated again
Ground Zero
No matter the cost
Won't give up till all are one
Ground Zero
Nowhere to go
Got to be willing to fight
Ground Zero
One thing they know
Only the strong will survive
Ground Zero
Ground Zero
Ground Zero
Ground Zero
"Till All Are One" (War For Cybertron Ending Theme)
Transformers
Defenders of truth, robots who fight in disguise
Transformers
When the battle is through, only the strong will survive
Til all are one
Galaxy's worried they'll retreat
To this darkest corner
With the enemy gone
They will finally live on
As they revel in their victory
Robotic warriors give it their all
Fight in disguise
Til the victor stands tall
Transformers
Defenders of truth, robots who fight in disguise
Transformers
When the battle is through, only the strong will survive
Transformers
Defenders of truth, robots who fight in disguise

When the battle is through, only the strong will survive
Til all are one
...and this song is the abridged version! (click here to listen to full version) -- where can I get this CD?? Michael Bay needs to use this in the ending credits for DotM.
The visuals during the credits were nice too. I liked seeing Omega Supreme and Trypticon going at each other, and the 'clown car' gag with Bumblebee at the end funny. :)
I think he has only ever officially released it on his 2007 CD 'In this Life', which can be purchased from his website.Quote:

He had a new CD this year as well, but I don't know if it was included on that one too.
I got it off itunes.
I bought this games quite a while ago but haven't really started playing it until now.
Not having played shooting games before, I don't have any previous experiences to compare this to.
I found WFC enjoyable. I did not come into the game looking for an in-depth plot, I just wanted to be able to run around and shoot enemies, so I found the game relaxing. I have only started playing the Decepticon campaign and am not very far, but enjoying it so far. :)
hey kids,
I picked the PC version u pin the states recently, I installed it finally the other night and I am really struggling with it.
I must amit that I haven't been too far into the history of this thread as I don't want to accidentally fall on any spoilers so please forgive me if this has already been covered.
There seems to be a graphical glitch, I can see through the entire level, near field structures are not visible. It is soo confusing that it's unplayable.
I've been to both the high moon studios and activision sites and there doesn't seem to be a patch for it. Has anyone had this issue, either with this game or a game running of the same engine if there is one?
My PC is running Windows 7 64Bit,
Intel I7 920 (stock at the moment)
6 Gigs of Ram,
HD 5870 with a Gig of Ram.
I should be able to run this with everything turned up to max but it just doesn't seem to work.
Anyone got any suggestions, hints or tips.
cheers
UM
Try updating your display drivers, if that don't work I'm guessing it a compatibility issue with your card.
It could also just be a rendering problem with the Unreal Engine (there are a lot of random things that go wrong rendering scenery in UE3...)
An unrelated programming glitch, is in escalation, that allows players to pass through the forcefields if they transform into it at the right moment... as well in Remnant if you jump to the floor in the main 'room' and transform as you land (which kills you if you are a car because you fall through to your death).
(it has been good to see up to a thousand people on PS3 WFC since TF3 came out, but it's slowly dropping off again - I think if the TF3 game had escalation, it would have been the death of WFC's version)
Yep, did that.
I'll try runnin Unreal 3 again maybe, as previously I've had no issues with that. see if there is a paralell, maybe I've fiddled a little too much with settings on the video card.
So far this is even happening on the main menu, I can see both the asteroids and Cybertron through them. I have only played the first 2 minutes of the decepticon campaign as it's just impossible to figure out which way I'm supposed to be going.
It does sound as if you have a major graphics card/driver incompatability going on. Things are simply not rendering properly for you. I personally haven't had any glitches with the game and I also have the PC version.
