Have they confirmed there will be no future releases?
Realistically, what else was there left for Yamato to do with Macross?
Word on the streets of Akihabara was that the next release would be the YF-19 ver 3... They'd just be going in circles.
Arcadia are apparently settling into their new premises now. There should be a report on MW in a week or two when they are interviewed.
Well I don't mind a refresh of the YF-19, and maybe even the Macross The Ride planes.
We never got the Monster, SDF Macross (TV ver), Glaug, Spartan or Phalanx. So not much chance of the more obscure valks, really.
Apparently Yamato had three Macross projects in development, I don't know what the other two were.
Did I miss something? did yamato go bust ?
What happened to the yf30?
I was looking forward to that.
Yamato Toys are now trading as Arcadia. This was announced at Wonderfest a few months ago. There should be a proper report on what this means for the Macross license next week on MacrossWorld. Until then, just the usual panic and hearsay...
Unknown. Nothing in the latest Japanese hobby mags. Nothing has been seen of it since the first prototype images a few months ago.
Bandai's 1/72 VF-1S and FAST pack sets are up for pre-order.
Those new Bandai 1/72 kits look interesting. The VF-1 is tiny in that scale and making it transform is going to result in one fiddly and fragile model. I'll probably pick one up, it'll be interesting to compare to the Hasegawa scale kits.
Bandai's VF-1 kit looks like Bandai's way of testing the market for yet another VF-1 mould. I wouldn't be surprised if they upscaled and went with full VF-1 toys if the kits prove popular. Judging from the previews, it looks like what they're going for is too finicky for something that's destined to just be a model kit.
I have faith that Yarcadia will carry on the macross torch. We need someone to keep Bandai on their toes (and to show Takara how to make a proper transforming airplane).
