This is due to fear of scalpers. The commonly accepted idea is that if you're interested, just PM the person. It's just done to separate the regulars from the lurking scalpers.

My thoughts exactly :). There always will be lurkers who watch what we spot & where and then clean out everything good. If we can keep the wanted figs away from the Lurkers' eyes, what's the harm in that? ;)
