is it more cost effective to buy locally on sale or overseas?
Offroad says it won't ship to Australia, but Air Raid does... weird.
Give it a few days for them to correct it I guess.
(prices aren't too good with the exchange rate - and amazingly, Myer are actually cheaper before shipping)
RID Legion, 1-step, and Warrior wave 3 are/were in stock at Amazon... but scalpers have cleaned them out of most of it, selling the $9 Legion toys for $22, and $17 Warrior toys for $25.
Links are in case they restock the sold-out items.
Legion Fixit
Legion Underbite
Warrior Jazz
Warrior Sideswipe
1-step Drift
1-step Thunderhoof
1-step Fracture
And... 3-step Optimus
Sounds like the Deluxe Protectobots are now available at Amazon, so a decent number of new toys out in the last week in America.
Where are our new toys?
Looks like Ultra Magnus arrived at Amazon, but sold out with the pre-orders... but it could restock later.
And just arrived is this odd looking Rescue Bots Optimus toy that turns into a tow-truck. It is more expensive than the regular transformable Rescue Bot toys, but less expensive than the Elite Heatwave toy... so I have no idea what it is. It says it's an exclusive, but I have no idea what sort of exclusive either.
Maybe it was a third-party seller, or it was not registering at the time you were ordering it, but I had a look and I didn't get any problems (I didn't complete the transaction though).
It looks like it is stock by Amazon now, and not just limited stock either.
It's regularly at US$47, but when I looked it was currently price-matching one of its third-party sellers, for $43.

For all those who missed out on Devi-$150 US Free Shipping and ships to Oz, however it is a pre-order.
It wouldn't surprise me if Amazon just slapped your name & address on a sticker on the Devastator box & shipped it out.
I didn't buy one though... I don't even have an account... was just browsing...
What is the likely hood amazon will restock quickslinger and brakeneck? Kicking myself for what not buying it when it was for 16.99 at launch!
The Platinum 2-pack of Astrotrain and Blitzwing was put up for pre-order on Amazon as well, for August 1st, at US$70.
It is strange that Amazon haven't been selling any of the other Platinum sets (yet... unless they were already sold out), but that's okay for me, as this was the one I would be buying for being a redeco.
That and the Dinobots, as I'd look at replacing some of my old ones if they are identical.
Not likely... as there was just one shipment everywhere, and no one else has restocked.
For anyone interested in Rescue Bots, the two first-year toys that were commanding up to $100 each, look to have been reissued, and are on Amazon for US$15 each.
Medix and Hoist.
I think they were probably produced at the same time as the Amazon exclusive redecoes of the pair, which came out in the last month as well.
How come it's saying having problem to estimate shipping to Australia?
Any help, guys?
Everything in your cart does ship to Aus? That's the only time I've had trouble when they don't. Maybe try progressing through checkout to the very last step and see if it fills in there?
What Paulbot said, plus, you can refine your search on only include items that ship to Australia but that may knock out a few things. When you click into the item, try searching using other shops/sellers; some of those might be able to ship to Aus instead and may be cheaper depending on condition etc. Last step in checkout is to verify if it DOES ship to Aus; if not just remove it and try another seller.
This will be moved and merged with the existing Amazon topic later today (or when it sells out)... I just wanted to make it known that this rare and hard-to-find toy is currently in-stock at Amazon for US$11... and it isn't looking good that it will show up here. Considering Legends are about AU$19-20 here, if it does end up coming to Australia, at least this one wouldn't cost more than that.
Now, it isn't worth getting on its own, unless you are doing a group buy of several of them for a few people... so check out the other available items for Transformers to see if anything new is available that you want (if that link doesn't work, search for "Transformers" in toys, click on "sold by Amazon" on the left column, and select "sort by newest arrival" in the drop-down box on the top right).
Some recent and rare items you could pair up with Viper to make shipping worth it...
GEN Legends Groove - currently on sale for US$10
GEN Voyager Hotspot (for those who just got the limbs locally) - on sale for US$25.
RID Gold/G1 Grimlock - US$16
Platinum Edition Blitzwing/Astrotrain - US$70
GEN leader Thundercracker - on sale for US$44
RID Warrior Jazz - on sale for US$15
RID Warrior Sideswipe - US$16
(sale prices can be temporary, and may not be there when you see this)
Make sure items are "sold" or "fulfilled" by Amazon for the order to work, or have less issues.
Just keep in mind the current exchange rate, as Amazon shipping and prices are generally pretty good, but the exchange rate is eating into that "better than Australian prices" margin.
Thanks for the heads up...
Just ordered Viper as well as RID Warriors Sideswipe and Jazz oh and legends Fixit for good measure. :p
I was thinking I got Viper from work, but then I remembered, no he was in my POL that arrived the same day I picked up Wave 4 Legends from work.:o
Maybe we can do a bulk group order in Octanes Group Pre-Orders?
Viper's rare?
I thought that Amazon USA didn't ship toys to AU anymore. Unfortunately there's nothing else that I can find there that I'd want anyway, so postage of the toy on its own wouldn't be worth it.
Yes.... but not necessarily in high demand.
It looks like we missed wave 3 here (its case-mates Warpath and Groove showed up with Wave 4), and Viper looks to only be in Wave 3 because it isn't a major character that is just a redeco.
For me though, if you are getting all the toys who combine, Viper is part of Galvatronus, and is the only toy which has the image of a Galvatronus toy on the packaging (Cyclonus doesn't, and there are no dedicated Deluxes).
Appreciate the heads up Griffin. I just picked up Viper, Huffer and Air Raid all for $73 incl. postage. Considering I have been unable to source those individually anywhere I am quite happy :D
Wave 4 Combiner Legends and Deluxes are now on Amazon, with a release date of August 9th, so they must already have them, but will take a couple days to be ready to ship out to people.
I was able to cart and check-out the items, so they are all available to Australia.
Legends Rodimus - $10
Legends Skywarp - $10
Deluxe Mirage - $17
Deluxe Prowl - $17
Deluxe Ironhide - $17
Deluxe Sunstreaker - $17
BBTS also has them listed for August, but with slightly cheaper prices for the Deluxes (50 cents cheaper), the Legends are a lot more expensive ($16), and shipping is generally more expensive. (these six toys and the Rescue Bots High Tide playset only cost me AU$25 postage)
If you want to bump up the order a little with some in-stock items at the same time, these are still in stock at this time, which are Wave 3 Generations...
GEN Legends Viper - $11
GEN Legends Groove - currently on sale for US$10
GEN Voyager Hotspot (for those who just got the limbs locally) - on sale for US$25.
GEN leader Thundercracker - on sale for US$44
Or other Transformers items, including these recommended items...
Platinum Edition Blitzwing/Astrotrain - US$70
Rescue Bots High Tide playset - $30
My browser crashes when I click the hyperlink button, but if you search for Gold Armor Grimlock he is in g1 colours and ships
