I don't think I remember seeing him on shelves myself, I know he was though ;), but I wasn't 100% back into TFs at that point either and at that time I certainly would never of spent $200 on a sole figure... My how that mindset has changed! :p:D

He definitely kept those shelves toasty warm.
Then, at the Targets around me, he just disappeared. Had it been a swift massive clearance? A return to manufacturer? Still don't know.
I now feel old hearing you guys saying how MP02UM was 'before your time'.
Geez, I got the world scoop on the announcement and first pics, on the old ozfigures.com site.
Gave us HUGE traffic.
Only time was beat was by us again getting a world-first reveal, of a toy for the then-upcoming Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith line.
I do mean actively participating in the public TF community :D
Before joining OTCA in 2010 , I had a brief stint in the TFW2005 community in '08 but was promptly shown how insignificant my voice or opinion was there , and prior to that my only "goto" for TF discussion was 1Azrael1! :p
(My TF homes now being OZformers & Twitter :))
Hence you can see why my knowledge of things, prior to 2010, was extremely lacking. :o
The thing to note is THAT Ultra Magnus is NOT Ultra Magnus, is a white Optimus Prime from Santa Claus.
Now, this coming Ultra Magnus if done with trailer and everything......yup, that will fly off the shelf, but depends on the price.
I now have my Soundwave, very excited :D Thank you TRU Australia!
Posts like this never cease being great to see! :D
Remember: we'd love to see your pics & hear your thoughts, guys, both here in the Acquisition's thread & here in the Review thread. ;):)
Exactly. I remember the first Ultra Magnus and he was just an effort to get an additional sale with minimal extra effort. Without the trailer it isn't really Ultra Magnus. Having deliberately passed up MP02 I will jump at the opportunity to buy an Ultra Magnus with trailer.
It's Soundwave's sensor.

At $300 I don't think I'd be buying an MP soundwave, and I might have thought about Ghost Starscream if it had been $100.
I remember MP-04 being on shelves here for a few days before the introductory toy sale, I picked mine up the Afternoon before the toy sale at the sale price of $180 and by then there was less than half of the starting stock remaining on shelves. by the end of the next day that Target was clear and I only saw one or two at other targets in the proceeding week. Hearing about Purchases of $100 and under makes my brain hurt. I saw one sell at some point from a store in the city (where the EB Games is now in Galleries victoria) for $380 I think. I just can't imagine that toy ever shelf warming.
I have now a spare mp soundwave to sell because a mate changed his mind, $150 & can collect from campbelltown or penrith, PM if interested.
Might be, PM sent
Not sure if I'm missing something, but what does this tab on the back of MP Soundwave do?

It helps with ejecting the cassettes when you put in more than one. Pretty much pushes the next one forward
I can't get the pile drivers bit with rumble and frenzy, how do you lock them in?

Two minute video from Kal El
damn, I missed out :( anyone in Melbourne have one for sale?
I know I said that I wouldn't get a MP Hasbro Soundwave, but I caved. My mate managed to pick up 3 Soundwaves and 2 Acid Storms so I ended up getting one of the Soundwave from him.
Anyone able to find any in their area to hook a guy up?
Im in Hong Kong on transit for a couple of days. Picked up a brand new takara soundwave this evening for a really good price.
I've had enough of the whole hasblow distribution crap.
HLJ still sells them for a pretty decent price. Much better than
As an aside, I also spotted MP15 & Mp16 for 190HKD each, which works out to be around $30. I suspect it was the bootleg ones. Didn't pick them up in the end. The boxes look really legit though.
is anyone still looking for a mp 1 or 2 ?
went and purchased the last Hasbro Soundwave today at my local TRU store (with my 25% off voucher too!).
Very happy. i recently purchased frenzy/buzzsaw knock off from ebay and i should mention that the KO's are done really well.. from the box to the actual toys. The only probs is the ground pounders dont fit perfectly on frenzy's arms but still good enough to pose.
$30 aint bad and if anyone wants them let me know since i dont need em!
Well done on getting one!
you got one yet Twizz?
does anyone know if a Sydney store still has them?
Bankstown had one the other day, in a store room, I'm not sure if they have any more. I have a feeling that a few have been delivered at a later date, and missed the rush. as such it's a matter of calling around to see if there is any stock.
maybe call up the TRU head office/customer service line to see where they are in the country if there are any in stock.
Hi all, I just came across the forum whilst on a renewed search of my childhood lol. I was wondering if anyone knows of any MP Soundwaves in Sydney stores? What was the retail price? I case I decide to go on to ebay to get ripped :)
Was the ones recently released at TRU in Oz MP-02?
Sorry for all the questions in my first post.
Hello & welcome
You can try contacting TRU customer service 9794 8999 & ask them to do a search for Soundwave quoting his SKN which is 441600. They may be sold out now, but you never know
Original retail price was $149.99, but he was also available with 25% off in November, which lowered the price down to $112.50
Yes, it was the MP02 with the 5 cassettes.
I think I've managed to track one down at one of the TRU stores. Last one so he says @ $150. Will see later this week if this is real! On hold for me!
