Figured they found Rodimus to hard for the video .
i thought it was just the figures they have released this year....
Could it be just the figures (Autobot only) since the line was re-booted with MP-10?
Either way, an awesome vid. Love to see a Decepticon one!
No Red Alert either...
It's close enough... and maybe that was all the people in charge of the commercial had on hand at the time.
There's no need to be picky on everything you know, as it is upsetting people in the way that you do are doing it.
It is actually okay to just let some things go without a comment or "correction". :)
The intention of the video was to showcase MP22 Ultra Magnus. It includes enough other MP Autobots to demonstrate:
* How MP22 scales w/ the MP Autobot Cars in vehicle and robot mode
* How MP22 scales w/ an MP Autbot mini-car in vehicle and robot mode
* How MP22 scales w/ MP10 & also how it looks (e.g. how both Freightliner FL86 truck cabs look the same despite being completely different toys :))
* How MP22's trailer interacts w/ MP Autobot Cars and comparing it w/ MP10's trailer interaction
* MP22's transformation
Woohoo!
My HLJ-ordered MP Magnus arrived at (What I assume is) the Sydney AusPost distribution centre at 14:35 today! :D:D:D
@Sinnertwin: Yep, $194 was close to how it broke down for me: $196 (AUD) PayPal Exchange Rate: ¥1.00 = $0.93 (AUD) with EMS shipping as always. ;):)
Did anyone else's Ultra Magnus come in? I'm impressed with Hobbylink, paid for it on Friday and it came in this morning!
Mine was posted on Saturday, but given my track record with long, long delivery waiting times... I'll be lucky if I receive mine in mid January.
mine was posted on saturday, today its being put on a plane.
Mine posted sat, arrived in aust today
Taking some photos of mine now :D
Can anyone who has Magnus confirm if his arm ramp can go flush with the feet/ramp so the cars can drive up it like the G1 toy? All the promotional pictures and reviews I've seen no one has demonstrated it. The G1 toy you not only have to point the arms down but bend the elbow joint to achieve this. I notice the elbow joint is in the same place for the MP version but no one has bent it to to show it off the cars have to jump to get on the ramp.
Me too dude! :D

Hobby Link Japan are the best!
Posted 20:09 Friday evening, arrived in Sydney for processing at 14:35 yesterday arvo, delivered to my door at 12:25 today! - Total of 3 Days transit time!:D
(Technically, it's actually 2 days, 16 hours, 16 minutes! :p)
HLJ's track record continues to be nothing but exemplary. ;):)
Hehehehehehehehehehehehe.
I have an MP Ultra Magnus! I've been waiting for this for a while :)
Anyway, to the point:
The good far outweighs the bad. His size is awesome. He is just so imposing. His proportions are perfect. He looks like he stepped right out of the cartoon.
I managed to remove the gap between his ramps and shuns by sliding the ramps past the tab that holds them. They now sit flush against his shins :)
And some bad:
Very bland. Could have used more paint apps to liven him up a bit.
My copy has trouble tabbing the arms together in alt mode. It takes quite a bit of fiddling to get it to stay in position.
He has very limited shoulder articulation. It is somewhat helped by the transformation pivot but still not ideal.
No waist articulation.
Matrix holding hand is a bit of a cheat. I was a little disappointed at this for some reason.
That'll do for now. Sorry for the pinkish photos. I was looking after the little fella while taking these and didn't realise the white balance was all screwed up. Plus I don't have the time to fix it in Photoshop :o

Overall I love it! Can't wait to get some photos wit him and Rodimus :D
Holy crap dude!
I'm not seeing any "Pink" at all via my tablet Trent, your shots look amazing. :D
He's a beefcake huh? - A poseable one though but I dig the diecast slabs he has for "toes", he feels to me like his heft starts solidly from his base and tapers gradually as you move up.
I've transformed him once thus far and found him to be entirely intuitive, instructions are wholly unnecessary too as tabs and hinged-panels all seem to be exactly where you expect them to be. :)
I look forward to seeing more of your shots when you've got the time mate - he does have some bland spots that I think are exacerbated by his sheer size, but for a big bloke MP Magnus sure does hold up to the preceding car bots and deserves plenty of coverage. ;)
If your AusPost channels are good out your way Trev, with all hope it'll be Wednesday at the latest. ;):)
He's fun man, he'll be worth the wait.
he looks awesome except for the forearms where you can see the sprues weren't cut very well :/
Actually, HLJ are also closed from 28/12~5/1. It's just that for any orders that HLJ were posted before they took a break would be in transit, as that is the work of the postal service(s). Also, HLJ are a bit more expensive than Anime Export (although HLJ only charges you once the toy is ready to be shipped, as opposed to AE's immediate charge upon preorder).
Trent - yours is the first shot I've seen of the cab on its own (I didn't realise it could separate.) Can the trailer approximate any of the base and launcher modes of the original toy?
Damn you Trent. Gave up collecting Masterpiece line but having seen your pics .... I WANT ONE.
He's referring to the Battle Station Mode. It's something that Diaclone Powered Convoy had, but was not included in G1 Ultra Magnus' instructions, but obviously the original G1 Ultra Magnus toy could do it anyway (same w/ Battle Convoy/Optimus Prime's standing repair bay mode).

Looks awesome Trent !just waiting for mine to arrive.
Which is possibly why Hasbro omitted them for Ultra Magnus. ;) I guess it was just part of the 80s Japanese mecha thing to give them intermediate modes. Jetfire's Gerwalk mode is arguably a mis-transformed jet, although that is actually shown in G1 Jetfire's instructions (see: "Alternate transformation").
Anyway, here's a photo of the Battle station mode. Also, there's an alternate variation of the Battle station mode with the ramps pointed forward as shown here.
Well MP Magnus arrived today. But were your boxes from HLJ so big?:eek:
http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps23e13739.jpg
Apparently yes.
Can't confirm it myself as I don't have MP Magnus.
Also, pic request for Magnus and the Classics Season 3 cast please.:)
Bonus points if anyone recreates this in toy form.:D
Magnus was delivered today. HLJ are great! Quicker than Australia Post!
Still waiting for BBTS like a sucker...
HE"S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the G1 since earliest memories.... so YAY!!!
And who needs instructions.... kinda easy :-(
But I don't like his side mirrors... already out of place
