Fair enough! :)
Personally I can't wait for all of Feb's figures... including the stands. I even have a friend, who doesn't collect MOTUC, who is absolutely beside himself with anticipation for Battle Cat. He only bought the reissue of He-man so that he could put him on BC... no other reason at all.
-
I watched the He-Man/ She-Ra "Secret of the Sword" last night on you tube. Havent seen this since i dont know when and quite enjoyed it.
I might watch this thread a little more now, might even pick up some figures!
Oh- and is it just me or is Battle Cats voice done by the same guy who does Seaspray?

Sure is! It's Alan Oppenheimer... MOTU only had something like 4 voice actors, so they all did multiple roles. Along with Battle Cat, Oppenheimer voiced Skeletor, Mer-Man and Man-at-arms amongst others. On Transformers he did Seaspray (in his Mer-Man voice) as well as Warpath and Beachcomber! Pretty cool if you ask me!
Incidentally, he also voiced Falkor from The Never-Ending Story! He was pretty proficient in the 80s!

It's not just you - Battle Cat and Seaspray are both Allan Oppenheimer. But for some real Seasprayity you really need to watch an episode featuring Mer-Man - Oppenheimer does the exact same gargling voice for both aquatic characters.
Secret of the Sword is one of my two favourite cartoon movies ever. (It's probably not a stretch to guess what the other one is.)

Beat you to it Sky Shadow :p
-
Now now- theres plenty of me to go around!:p

Got me some classic MOTU lovin at Nexus on the weekend. A lot of figures there were missing accessories, or I wasn't sure if they were complete, but found one that I took a chance on because its gimmick was working, and was only $20 - Mosquitor.
The 'blood' gimmick would have made this one a popular one for the kiddies when it was released...
Starting to get the urge again to get the figures I'm missing (had an obsessive splurge beginning of 2008, and with this one, I'm now only missing 19 of the first 70 figures - and I really want some of the playsets, but I'd better not with BotCon approaching... :( ).
-
Hey Griff, that's a really good price for Mosquitor!! His asking price is usually pretty high because he's a pretty popular figure (due to the gimmick). Nice score!
I too have been buying many of the vintage figures lately. I picked up a complete original Castle Grayskull for only $80 a few weeks ago (I don't think the guy knew what he was selling, since I know a store here in SA that is selling just the Castle Grayskull box for $150! Again, that's JUST the box!)
That artwork is where the real money is... which is why some of the mini-comics I need to complete my set cost anywhere from $50-100! :(
-
Ive seen a lot of original figures on ebay quite cheap- how easy is it to find accessories? Are they worth it?
Dont tell me i have to rummage through a sqillion boxes at the toyfair! lol
-
I forgot to mention my acquisitions
Adora, Battle Armour He-Man and Beastman have arrived :)
-
Anyone in Adelaide interested in doing a group order each month to take advantage of the priority postage?
-
I've looked in to it in the past, but it seems really expensive, which is why I've always just gone with the slower one. I suppose if a few of us are doing it... What's the difference in price, usually?
Maybe we should have a chat about it at the Meet-up this Sunday! :)
-
I believe it is $55 for 6 figures so it works out close to the same as slow postage (for each of us) but gets here quicker
EDIT: Here is the shipping costs per figure ordered
Costs are in $USD
No. - UPS - Slow Post
1 - $50.55 - $9.95
2 - $50.55 - $9.95
3 - $50.55 - $15.55
4 - $50.55 - $22.10
5 - $50.55 - $28.44
6 - $50.55 - $34.90
7 - $71.05 - $41.40
8 - $76.75 - $48.15
9 - $87.50 - $54.65
10 - $87.75 - $61.10
-
That's what I figured. I know that (by using slow mail) single figures, even when bought in bulk as I do, end up being around US$30 each... mainly cos I usually only get about 3-4 a month.
But this may be worthwhile, if we're getting up to 6 as a group! Feb might be nuts, but definitely after that...
-
Stratos to be re-released!
Looks like all those people who missed out on certain figures originally can relax... seems they're all getting re-released!
-
I actually thought Stratos would be the last one offered again, well him and Zodac
I will pick one up to have MOC. Which means if we do go ahead for the priority mail group orders as of March, I am in for a Moss Man and a Stratos. I might make a tentative list for now and see how we go
Raider
Moss Man x 1
Stratos x 1
-
I will only by another Stratos if they fix his wings this time. I'm really curious to see if Matty will do that, or if they'll just do a lazy re-release...
-
has anyone got the DVD's of the this? any good im waiting for mine to come from the US. NOT the new adventures just MOTU new series thanks.
-
You mean the 200x series?
I have got it. It is really good. There are some great episodes and some not so great but overall it is better than the filmation series
-
If anyone would like to see the MOTU artbook which was released in a limited number of only 1000 at last years SDCC then now you have the chance
he-man.org member Josh Van Pelt has started an MOTU artbook loan program and it is coming to Australia. It is only open to 50 people so sign up now
More information can be found here

My Sub Adora arrived today

This may help to explain a little. DC Comics did the original MOTU comics... I have a few and they are REALLY really good!!
One of the comics was a crossover with Superman (as seen in the link above). So this explains the 2 figures and the comic which is all included in the pack!

Well... Superman vs. He-Man is one of the earliest aspects of MOTU canon, predating the Filmation cartoon. (I used to have those old DC comics - or at least I owned the Aussie Federal Comics equivalents; http://www.ausreprints.com/content/main/?series=2087)
But it's going to get kind of weird if it continues with Skeletor versus Batman, Stratos versus Hawkman, Teela Versus Harley Quinn etc.
EDIT: Dammit - Robzy beat me to it again! :p
-
Ye gods! The Masters NY Toy Fair info is pretty great. She-Ra, Whiplash, Gygor, Keldor, Tytus, Count Marzo and a crazy new Weapons Pak. Oh, and Mo-Larr. And Lex Luthor versus Skeletor-with-a-yellow-sword.
Just when I was rethinking the benefits of my subscription, they took it to the next level. (I'm most looking forward to Whiplash with the classic head and spear - a perfect homage to my first humanoid MOTU toy.)
-
Yeah, all the new figs look great! I'm really digging Whiplash and She-Ra!
I wonder how tall Tytus will be...?
-
Some good reveals
Gy-Gor and Tytus are welcome additions. Whiplash and Marzo are the best of the new figures
I don't really like She-Ra. Adora is way better. I think I need to see official pics
Mo-Larr, finally confirmed. I like this :)

Thats what she said!
I have always wanted to use that joke on a board :)
I have been looking more at the pics and I think Tytus has really grown on me more than the other figures. Mind you, Whiplash and Marzo are all types of awesome
Who am I kidding, I love it all (even those crappy 2packs. I will buy them but don't tell anyone) :)
-
New York Toy Fair MOTU vs DC Classics 2 packs.
-
I wonder if the crossover 2-packs will make it to Oz? Hope so, I will buy both (mainly for the comic inside) and will try to keep them in their box for display! I already have all 4 figures so I don't need to open them, except for the comics!
-
I missed out on Trap Jaw
I had bad RSOD, well this time it was WSOD
I had 2 in my cart but by the time it was processed he had sold out
I got my 2 Battle Cats though

-
I've got a sub so that atleast gives me 1 Trap Jaw but I wanted another for Kronis and 1 MOC

-
It's just stupid! If I find out only half went on sale or something (like the Skeletor re-release) I'll scream!!!:rolleyes:
