Haven't seen one in store in years, but if we do we'll let you know.

How many different moulds have been produced for tfs? Not including new heads or weapons etc...substantial difference
Transformers Classic Prime Trailer Mobile Command Base - does this join with voyager classics prime? which does this join to?
I'm trying to work out if I should get RTS Prime and RTS Bumblebee from Target for $23 each or if I should just skip these two. What do you guys think?
I would recommend RtS Optimus Prime. I thought this mould looked crap and I was really expecting to dislike it - but I bought it on sale and much to my surprise I actually really like it! It's very poseable - the wrist articulation is particularly impressive - allowing it to strike various sword fighting poses. It's clever how the sword transforms into the trailer hitch for the truck mode (instead of just being vestigial stowage); and a really surprisingly cool feature is that the cab can actually connect to the original G2 Laser Prime's trailer!
I bought this toy expecting to be disappointed, but instead it's made me a fan. :)

The cab hitch interlocks so well with the trailer that even when I stand it up on its back like this, the cab stays attached and doesn't fall off!

The wrist articulation allows Optimus Prime to strike a "By The Power of Grayskull!" pose. ;)

And if the toy is still on sale, then you're laughing. :)
If you don't have the BBee mold and it was one or the other, I'd definitely grab the BBee - it's a great mold (probably the best incarnation of this character, ever).
Whereas I don't. :p
Thanks for the candid replies folks. I'm not sure it's made my decision any easier but cheers anyway. :p
Seriously though, I think you've sucessfully con'ed me into getting Bumblebee mostly on the basis that I don't have the earlier version. I've really only just got back into TF collecting after pretty solid 5 year hiatus, so I know I've missed a lot of good figures. I'm still kicking myself for not getting Classics Starscream (even though I was broke/poor at the time) and the rest of the Seekers.
I'm still pondering the Prime though. So much love & hate for the figure. While I never owned the G2 Laser Prime I do have RiD Scourge so the comparisons are interesting. In the end, I'll probably let my wallet make the final desion for me.
There's so much love and hate for G2 Prime whereas you don't hear anyone complain about Bumblebee.
About the only thing you will hear about BBee is: "OMG, another repaint of Bumblebee?" :p
But if you don't have this mold, he's definitely worthwhile getting since the little guy is pretty cool. :)
I would buy each and every repaint of this BBee mold before I buy another G2 Prime.
someone complained about that bumblebee's hollow chest. pfft.
so i was thinking i would like to start reading the Transformers comics. I know it started with marvel, and then .... and .... bleh. i read that all hail megatron had just concluded so yeah.
can someone fill in the gaps for me?
IDW's G1 is a completely different and unrelated continuity from Marvel's G1 and G2. IDW's G1 continuity started back in 2005 with their Escalation series - so that'd be a starting point if you wanna get into that. Although I personally much prefer Marvel's old TF comics from the 1980s and 90s over IDW. AHM ended quite some time ago dude. :)
Or you could start with All Hail Megatron (which pretty much ignored the couple of years worth of IDW comics that came before it) and go from there to the IDW ongoing which continued on from the outcome of All Hail Megatron, and has been going for two years. The Wreckers series is a spin off from the ongoing.
I'd recommend starting with Infiltration. It doesn't start real quick, but it builds up properly and after Escalation, Devastation and ends in Revelations (which I think was a bit rushed)...
Actually, this is what I'd recommend.
- Dreamwave's War Within volume 1 (but only if you are so inclined)
- Megatron Origin
- Infiltration
- Stormbringer
- Spotlight volume 1
- Escalation
- Spotlight volume 2
- Devastation
- Spotlight volume 3
- Revalations
- Maximum Dinobots
- Last Stand of the Wreckers
(ignore All Hail Megatron if you can; and definitely ignore the Ironhide mini-series)
didn't it start with Infiltration?

The IDW comics are IMO fairly light reads compared to the Marvel comics. It doesn't take long to read through a single IDW issue. I personally prefer Marvel's "chunkier" story where more stuff happened per issue... and for $1 an issue (as opposed to IDW's $6-7 per ish), it was better value for money!
Oops, my bad. :p
I'm still waiting for IDW to create a series where the Transformers, chiefly Perceptor, teaches readers about chemistry. It would be called Transformer Filtration.

D'OH!! XO

*Apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the bloody Romans ever done for us?!?!?!
Does anybody have the following DVD box sets?
If so, can you confirm if they're legitimate licensed products or whether they're KO's?
Also, what's the quality of them like?
Eeww, dubs! <flees>
I'm highly suspicious of the authenticity of anything with Chinese text on it. That's not to say that they're necessarily KOs per se, but there's a good chance that they are. Although there is a chance that they may be officially licensed too, I would remain skeptical until they're proven to be legit. It's just because China is just _flooded_ with KOs (since I've been in China I've only found 2 places here that sell legit TFs... in the majority of stores I've been checking out I've just found these).
TFC 21 blaster versus SDCC blaster - which one is better? Takara vs Hasbro but both made in China in G1 mold.
I don't know about SDCC Blaster, but I'm really happy with my TFC Blaster. It's just as good as my original G1 Blaster was when I got that minty knew in Xmas of '85. The vermillion on TFC Blaster looks a bit darker/reddish than G1 -- but it could be because my G1 Blaster's a bit faded after 20* years. The chest-door mechanism on the reissue also works really well, whereas my G1's jams easily (and has done so since early on).
And unlike some other reissues, there's no discernable difference between G1 and TFC Blaster... they're virtually identical. The only difference is probably just the copyright stampage (and possibly shade of vermillion if my G1 isn't that faded :p). But I'm as pleased as peach w/ TFC Blaster and I highly recommend this toy.
If SDCC Blaster is as good as TFC Blaster then that won't disappoint either. But I personally can't comment as I don't own SDCC Blaster nor have ever seen him for myself IRL.
---------------------------------------
*Before anyone jumps on my math, I got TFC Blaster in 2005, so it was 20 years since I got G1 Blaster! It got it in December too IIRC, which was the same month that I got G1 Blaster (since he was an Xmas pressie). Wow... never thought of that before. Cool!
Very satisfied :) However, a mate wants Blaster. I initially bought SDCC Blaster for him. I'm thinking of keeping SDCC and give him the TFC version instead :)
Just wondering how do the scale/sizes match up between kabaya candy figs/ normal legends class and WST?
WSTs are ... well, tiny! Legends figures just tower over them. "WST" is just a slang name which Anglophone fans have given to this line, the actual name is Kyokushou Henkei which means "Extremely Small Transformations" and they are _extremely_ small. WST Ravage is only 1mm wide! You didn't see my WSTs when you saw my collection, gdmetro? They were lined up in front of the TV next to those Beast Wars PVCs (mebbe you didn't notice them cos they are so darn small ;))
which do you prefer? G1 MIB combiners or MIB re-issues?
Any noticeable differences? or are the re-issues as good as g1?
is optoys legit or tfieds?
Should've been is optoys legit? tfieds?
Are the mentioned websites legit? If website is legit, do they sell legit/official TF toys? Or are there still fakes?
Toys or website are almost equivalent to me since it's a generic question. Meaning if the website is bogus, then most likely what is being sold are fakes. I approached it the way I check for official online/web sellers of sneakers I guess.
Would someone be so kind as to whip out some kitchen scales and weigh Materpiece Convoy/Optimus and MP Grimlock and post how much each toy weighs. Toy only, no trailer/accessories please.
Thanks.
I would normally do it myself, but mine are hidden amoungst many boxes of stuff and I am not sure exactly where they are...
Sounds like I have too many toys
:p
