Black Zarak on special at Zavvi, plus an extra 10% off and free postage with a the discount code "TRANSFORM" ($242.99 all up - slightly less than I paid for Scorponok from Amazon two years ago), for those who missed out or were previously undecided.
Many thanks to Inikalord over on TFW2005 who spotted this.
They also have The Ark for the same deal and price, too.
Pulsecon announced items have gone up on EB Games and Zing. $138 for SG Soundwave, they have got to be joking! I thought $114 was bad from JB...
Lkewise, next year's items are all up on Popcultcha too, and again - Needlenose is notably absent. Hopefully he won't be some ridiculous hard-to-get exclusive...
It looks like Soundwave and the Hero 2-pack might be delivery only, as they didn't allow for click-and-collect.
Their help page notes that not all pre-orders are available for click-and-collect, and these two may be in that category.
But go to a store first and see if they can pre-order for pickup for you. I was able to do that with the July pre-orders, but a couple of them never arrived at the store, so it can still be a bit hit-and-miss at JB.
(I'm still hoping they show up at EB or Amazon, just to see what Soundwave is at other places, as it shouldn't be any more than $80 here.... and even if the Hero 2-pack is a few dollars more at EB, at least you are saving on the shipping that JB will be charging.)
EDIT - I just saw the post above noting that they are both on the EB site for a LOT more than JB, still making it cheaper to get them posted from JB.
That's a shame the pricing has ended up like that, especially for Soundwave, which might have been based on the Hasbro Pulse price, which is about $10 more than regular fan-channels, because it has the bonus comic included.
Does Hasbro not have any input on the prices that their partnered fan channel retailers set...?
As a wholesaler Hasbro can't legally dictate or set retail pricing, but can recommend retail pricing. It is then up to the retailers to set prices based on their desired profit margin and/or compared to their competitor's prices.
I would imagine with these collectable items, the wholesale pricing was wrong (from Hasbro's end), and the prices have just flowed on through the retailers who have calculated the retail price based on what it cost them.
If you brought anything from this sale or have any outstanding preorders from the company you might want to print out your invoices and prepare to have to head down to your local bank branch to file some chargebacks, their site is down and their Facebook and Instagram have been locked with no comunication as to why that happened which are never good signs for the solvency of a company. Now maybe it isn't a worst case scenario and they'll come back soon enough but really what are the odds of that?
There's a screenshot (not sure where it is from, because there's no part of their web-site that works) showing them announcing their closure. They're gone.
