Why does Powerglide look like he has a cerebral shell on his forehead, loss a customer :(
There you go. That makes me wrong twice. And to think just yesterday I said I'd bet vital parts of my anatomy that it was FP. Sure glad I didn't. :DQuote:
What actually happened is Fansproject offered the designer of Maketoy's to bring their prototypes to botcon. Then after some miscommunication with the TFsource table, they were said to be Fansproject's stuff.
Whilst I feel a little vindicated, the more important thing is that these are quite good for a new player and they have already given iGear a swift kick in their stolen mold for testicles. :p:D
I don't know about the Minibots... if they're in scale with Windcharger, then maybe, but that G2 Prime upgrade and the design work for 'Giant look very appealing indeed.
those minibots are pretty cute and nifty. I'd consider getting them on their own merit even if they don't scale with other toys.
Nice! powerglide looks nicer with colour, then as prototype.
I'm still on the fence about the g2 prime armor, one one hand he looks disgustingly awesome fully bulked up with all those missile pods, etc on the other hand, I don't need it....
ANd wait... is that a pic of a devastator... that is g1 styled.. are they releasing a better devy than TFC?
nice!!
i dont mind that more and more 3rd party groups are popping up.
especially when they have pro skills and designs like these!
hells yeah im getting them!!
good thing i managed to nab me a couple of g2 pimes early on...
cos i wouldnt want to be paying the extortionate prices when the upgrades get released!
Minibots look good, a really nice G1 upgrade rather than a redesign.
The G2 laser Prime trailer is interesting, it'd make me think about purchasing the figure if the end product looks as good as the concept art.
i prefer the igear seaspray which has a ball joint elbow instead of this one.
the g2 prime trailer is definitely what im most interested in.
the annoying thing is their devastator - we wont know anything about it for a while and tfc's version will start to be released soon.
6 figures costing $600... and only one per month so there won't be a final review until you've bought it all anyway... and I'm sure most people won't want to buy both versions. *rages*
UNLESS maybe this new devastator is a different size...
[/headache]
I find it rather sad that these company's are doing a better job at making Transformers than Hasbro...I love the designs...Hasbro should be looking at hiring some of these guys to do there designing and sack some of the one they have now because frankly some of the stuff they have bought out the last 5 years is crap.its minor thing but such things could be fixed before going into production..IE classics Ironhide, need I say more..who the hell didn't notice that his head faces down on a nearly 45" angle:mad::mad::mad:... personally I love all my Transformers but some of the designs could of been done better and with a little bit more thought....my 2 cents
Sigh. I'll probably get that G2 Trailer.
I have heard this a lot and although I agree with the sentiment, I do not agree that this will result in better toys from Has-Tak-Tom.
Has-Tak-Tom already has very talented designers and sculptors. The problem is that there is a lot of external/internal influences and demands from corporate sectors that affect the final product. This could be something like Marketing, retail demand or the whims of the brand manager or someone in the corporate hierarchy.
So if the same people that are making all the awesome 3rd party stuff gets employed by Hasbro; they would be forced to conform to the corporate business models and plans which would restrict what they can or want to do.

which do you think is better? this or the tfc one?
This is apparently a much smaller figure which IMO works better than TFC's as it's likely to be more in scale with Crossfire Superion and Bruticus. I also hope it is more reasonably priced too.
This looks to be the Classics Devastator that I have been waiting for - If the prices are fair and the robot modes decent, it is bought.
Edit:
Here is a size comparison!

On that picture alone, Maketoy's will be the group that receives my money for a 3rd Party Devastator as I really like the look of this thing plus the scale is way more in-line with what I'd like. ;):D
Well done guys, well done!:cool:
DEVASTOR: Hey Bruticus, you know that thing where you combine into a gestalt and then you can't see anything in your periphery?
BRUTICUS: Um... no. Dude, that sounds like tunnel vision! You should totally get that checked out.
DEVASTATOR: Well... at least I'm not that guy.
that looks cool!!!! from the blurred pics i dont think the indivdual bots looks as good, i could be worng but i want it and that combined mode looks cool!! Man TFC is screwed if this outsells their one as it took them ages to finish their product and the price is out of this world imo
funny atm im not interested in any official toys other than the new generations and my money is going to 3rd party products like the insecticons and the new maketoys products.
Love the look of that Devestator but not sure I can justify the money for a 3rd party product. I draw the line at 3rd party accessories but this one has got me on the fence.
More then likely get the Optimus trailer. Last time I didn't get a trailer I lost my chance.
looks cool but i think i will stick the TFC one as i would rather the bigger combiner
I like that Devastator! Okay Maketoy is getting all my money. I like all I have seen so far :D
I feel like TFClub is going to be very damaged by this..
Anyway- I was a bit stressed knowing I couldn't really put down the dosh for the TFC Devy and missing out on a Classics Devy... but maketoys has saved the day. :D
This guy is definitely bought! The size is decent aswell, matching up with the previous FP combiners! (and hopefully the pricing matches). Chest plate too. The design elements are very similar to FP- almost too alike (look at that waist piece!)
Bring on Menasor/Computron/Defensor/Abominus...
Bought.
Looks fantastic, and a cheaper option to the TFClub one. They will have a loss in sales for sure. Though their one will be massive, I am inclined to buy this one.
This does look better but will wait on robot pics to comment. I'm not as convinced with TFCs either but this is looking nice.
I have cancelled my preorder for Hercules to get this one instead. If the reviews of Exgraver are positive I may order it again but for now Maketoys Giant is my choice for Devy
OH just make a preorder already!!!
Just cancelled mine with BBTS after seeing the Maketoy's version. It looks so much more detailed, has a G1 accurate head and most likely be less than the $600 TFC set. I just had to jump ship!
Here comes my first third party product...

Maketoys Giant does look so good combined but there is that unknown factor that is price. Every man and his dog are saying it will be cheaper than TFC but who knows with these 3rd party companies.
I have re-preordered Exgraver. I am just concerned that the early reviews are going to say the quality is perfect and the figure is well worth the money. I would rather have it preordered with the option to cancel than to not have it preordered and for it to sell out
