DotM Guidebook (Bios and upcoming toys)

This is almost identical in format to the RotF Guidebook produced by Hasbro, this one covers Dark of the Moon characters and toys, including some toys that haven't been revealed yet anywhere.

This was sent in from the people at ToysRUs, so a big thankyou to them (this is such an awesome reference guide), and is one of the freebie items to be given away at the Melbourne TRU pre-launch Event on May 14th (plus other TRU promo events around SE Asia).

If you aren't able to make it to the Event for your own copy, or they run out, here are the scans of this 32 page booklet.

It's quite exciting, to see some official pics of characters for the first time, in addition to announcing those upcoming store exclusives (all in the one week) before the fansites that Hasbro America interacts with. :p

When I did a search online to be sure it wasn't already out there somewhere (so I didn't waste my time doing all the scanning and posting), I was really amazed that the RotF Guidebook was put online by Hasbro, and is still there.
I'm wondering if they will swap it over now with this new one, or upload it at a new domain name.

Strangely, the book seems to have omitted wave 2 of Cyberverse legion (Ratchet, Leadfoot, Crowbar, Mudflap), as well as Bolt Bumblebee and the 2007 Movie deco Cyberverse Starscream.

Bolt Bumblebee is in wave 2, according to the RK assortment listings. And I haven't seen any sign of a Starscream in that size class yet (except the one with the Action set).

Leadfoot does on the hasbro site. Now we just have to wait for Topspin. I hope he gets one as I'm not overly fussed with the deluxe wreckers.

Ben Yee has reviewed it. http://www.bwtf.com/toyreviews/dotm/legion/starscream/

It's the same mold as the action set version, but coloured more like how he appeared in the first movie.

Ah okay then... it's wave 3 (it's number 13 on the back), I'll add that to the checklist then.

It wasn't on the TFW resource site either, and they're pretty good with keeping up with things.

His vehicle mode (which is most likely not in the movie) is based on the GI Joe Sigma 6 Dragonhawk Heavy Armor Dropship

That's definitely what it is then. I certainly would never have guessed what it was when doing up a toy review... It will be interesting to see what Hasbro calls it on the back of the packaging.

Saw today at Toyworld - Back of Laserbeak's packaging says, 'Hover Jet Mode' as its non-condor mode.

I think Ravage would be the one who isn't depicted on screen as turning into anything, but he probably does turn into a protoformish mode like the toy for reentry.

Talking about Laserbeak's apparent alt mode in the movie would be spoilers (assuming it stays that way in the movie), but eg, Scorponok actually transformed into Blackout's helicopter engine (well, one of them).

ROTF Soundwave's robot mode was based upon concept art of Soundwave back when he turned into a Chevy Silverado (or something similar, like Dropkick/Salvage). The robot mode was dropped when he was turned into a satellite, but Haskara used it for their ROTF figure. If I recall correctly, can see the Chevy looking grill area in his stomach.

I believe the DOTM design seems to carry over elements from the old concept design, too.

Today at Big W, I had Roadbuster and Crankcase in my hands, but I only wanted one to get me started (low funds), and I opted for Crankcase. After seeing HA Roadbuster, I'm glad with my choice =o) Still annoyed we never got a proper release of HA Mudflap and Barricade over here -.-

I wonder about Sentinel Prime's weapon, why they didn't go with the weapon he has in the movie (apprently). Maybe they didn't wanna spoil it for people.

I'm interested in this Hatchet figure, wonder how he will fit into all of this, if he is even in the movie at all :p

Interesting to see the upcoming toys. Still only a handfull shall I buy. Those playsets sure look mighty tempting.:) and as 1Azrael1 has said Hatchet is kinda interesting, plane with a Feline bot mode? hmmm in a commander size as well ... might have to check this figure out.

Looking at my want list after seeing that book. :/ Too many! May have to just keep up with this line via Cyberverse. I am digging the commander figs, hope they do a commander class BB one so I don't have to buy a deluxe ;)

Did anyone by any chance make a copy of this when I posted this link?
I didn't have the time to copy it at that time, and just went to do it now, but it looks like it was finally taken down (the domain no longer exists, as it may have expired).
I'm kinda hoping someone made a copy so that I can archive it with this TF3 catalogue.
