What you guys think? Watch the 3D or normal VMax?
Wasn't filmed in 3D so I won't see it in 3D (Made that mistake with Clash of the Titans, I'm now haunted by floaty Liam Neeson head)
whilst i wont be seeing HP, after viewing a few movies in 3d i find that the 3D does not really suit live action movies... thor pirates transformers i find the so called 3D effect wears off about 30 minutes into the movie and you dont really notice it, also the glasses turn the film dark...
i saw Thor in both 3 and 2D and much prefered the 2d version..
Animation in 3D seems to work much better like cars 2, it makes the animation appear more live action... but even then the effect still wears off....
so most new movies i take the option of 2D
cheers....tonight I will go and buy tickets for tomorrow vmax session.
i saw the 2D version and was happy enough with that, wont bother seeing it in 3D as well like i did with Transformers as Sharky says you dont notice it after a while
I saw this in Vmax. the 3D version just makes me feel ill.
Saw the Vmax... it was a nice movie and ending
Not seen any of the Harry Potter movies but I am mildly curious about this one - do I have to watch all the others first?
I saw it in 3D... not because I wanted to, but because the 2D showings are very, very limited. 3D was all I could get... having said that, it was great!! The 3D was excellent; some shots were brilliant. It was a little dark at times (light wise) which didn't help the 3D, but overall it was a positive experience!
You have to see them all. Starts off all kid friendly and the movies get darker and darker till the end. Also kinda fun watching the cast grow up before your eyes too :D Kinda sad its all over :(
I saw in 2D (like the other 7 films) and wasn't disappointed.
Yes. This is the big finish but it is barely it's own film. It gives a newcomer about zero context as to what's happening, who's who or why; total assuming you've at least seen Part One of Deathly Hallows. But to people who have watched the previous films it's a great climax well worth the nine years to get such a unique film series.
Thanks VERT and Paul. It all sounds like too much effort to play catch-up now, but that's OK, I was in two minds about seeing it anyway :)
Saw it in 2D, even though I missed seeing Part 1, part 2 was easy to get the gist of what was happening. I had seen the others though, so that helped :p
Just wait till the new one comes to DVD, then watch them all, they are worth it once you get passed the first few movies :p (I saw the first one years ago and was turned off it because of how childish it seemed to me. After seeing the other, darker films, was getting good)
Saw it in 2D and it was an okay film, not anything special in it that would make me ever think about seeing it again in 3D.
Personally didnt like it as much as movie 6 and 7, certainly not a bad film, but some things in it felt off to me.
I recommend stopping after movie 3, all down hill from there.
Wow. Did we see the same film? I caught it in 3D and halfway through I was wondering why I had these damn glasses on. I thought that perhaps as the spells started flying the 3D might come into play... Nope. Film finished and I turned to the wife and she said before I could "Why was that in 3d?"
Just like Pirates 4, it's a waste of a 3d film. It got to the point for me where I wanted to take the glasses off and just watch the damn thing normally. but then everything was blurry.
See it in 2d, you aren't missing anything.
was an Ok film though. Not the best but was nice to see the ending.
Evidently not ;) I've heard/read some people can't see 3D the same way others can, so maybe that's the issue?! Not sure. All I know is, while it wasn't on the level of Avatar, the 3D in "some" shots (as I wrote) was amazing. But, like Tron Legacy or DOTM, it was limited.
Yeah, I agree... and that would be my recommendation too. Unfortunately, however, as I wrote in my first post, I had no choice! 2D screenings were limited to one per day at my local.
I think it has more to do with expextations than interpretation of 3d. If I see a 3D movie, I want ther to be justification for the 3D. Harry 7 Pt1 was filmed 2d, then they thought to convert to 3d, but didn't have enough time so released in 2d afterall. Obviously part 2 was filmed 2d and converted afterwards. However I dont think they took into account the effects of 3d when filming, hence the lacklustre 3d in Harry.
Some Good 3d films (IMO) are Up (3D added depth to the world and adventure), Avavtar (filmed with 3d cameras and was aided in immersion), thor (asgard and ice world place looked good in 3d, I think this filmed did well). transformers 3, robots look cool! Kung Fu panda 2 (fireworks!!)
Bad 3D filsm, Pirates 4, Harry 7 pt2, clash of Titans. Why? because just 2d films convetered into 3d without appropriate thought of how to use the 3d. I dont want to see that. that is why Transformers 1 & 2 and the Star Wars movies when converted will suck (in regards to 3D films).
that is also why I think I will pass on Capt America in 3D. It just doesn't Justify it.
