i would really appreciate any help as to which beast wars ultra megatron this is :o -i am unsure if it is tru 10th anniversary,japanese reissue or something else!?! :confused:?

Looks like a newer release as it has different paint apps and is missing the beast mask that the first release had.

Yeeeesss indeed. It's a wonderful piece. I got the TRU 2-pack with the retooled Primal, they're a wonderful duo.
You need to track down some missiles. Ones from the original mould should still work just fine.

I personally despise that head sculpt; IMO, it's absolute rubbish and looks as far from the show model as the original toy (Which I prefer) did - They should've used the TM Megatron head sculpt as a base and worked from that as it is far more accurate to the show.
This figure's paints apps are far better however and if I had my way I'd pick up this figure just to lop off it's head and replace it with the original's. :D

Looks pretty close to me Hursty.
Still not close-enough for me man - Everything above the mouth is out of proportion IMO on that figure's sculpt compared to that picture and others i.e. Nose is too high, eye's are too thin and not the right colour... :cool:
Maybe I've crossed over to being one of those 'tragic' fans, but I really like it.
I would have loved some more touch-ups on the mould though. Get rid of the launchers in the hips and just mould 'blasters' into the plastic.
And I would have loved Hasbro to paint or cast the swords and missiles for Primal in grey, so they looked a bit more show-like.
*Sigh*
Maybe for the 20th Anniversary :p
I'm still trying to talk someone around into selling me their boxed set as I love the paint apps on Megs and Primal:)

I'd love some jets in Primal's back. I think from memory, they looked something like his missile launchers anyway, but I've always wanted an Original Primal with a flight mode! Surely those geniusi at Hasbro could come up with something.
And replace the mace in his right forearm with a better launcher, one that doesn't require the fist to fall away.
Take some of the ideas from the smaller Takara one they produced, but keep him an Ultra size!
