The Colouring-In Thread
Hey guys,
Having recently bought 2 original G1 colouring in books, I thought that I'd scan them up and post them here for the enjoyment/use of those with kids, maybe even those who are Primary School Teachers or just anyone wishing to be a little artistic. :D
My thoughts were that others could contribute to this thread by adding any sort of colouring in or activity book from any era of Transformers or, hell, even Gobots for the enjoyment of others; lets amass a large collection eh?
Looking forward to seeing others contributions, along with any thoughts or comments of course. ;):)

The Transformers: Bumblebee's Dangerous Mission.
-
The Transformers: Forest Rescue Mission.
-
Great idea, but maybe I can save you some time on the scanner. There's a heap of scans online here http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~s...ooks/#coloring including the Forest Rescue Mission.
I've actually been looking at my G1 colouring books lately and filling in gaps on the Wiki. I wrote all the content for Bumblebee's Dangerous Mission because there weren't scans online for others to do it, and there's at least two more stub wiki pages for colouring books I was planning to update this week. :D
-
Cheers for the info Paulbot :), I feel a little... I don't know now :o - I'll probably do the scans anyway as I have a Primary School Teacher next door and I was going to make her a copy of each. :)
I didn't know this had already been done elsewhere, your work on the wiki dude is great too.:cool:
It couldn't hurt to have a local version here too could it? :o
(For redundancy purposes at least? ;))

Nope wouldn't hurt, and as I said the Bumblebee Dangerous Mission doesn't appear to be online anywhere yet... and people need to see blocky head Bumblebee being too short to reach the top barrels. :)
I could scan mine, but I don't think there's a single page in any of my books that 6-8 year old Paulbot didn't do a bit of colouring on.

Awesome!, well I'm very happy to upload it for the community's benefit then; I've already ribbed my Father over how he could relate to the book though. :p

Haha, then it pleases me greatly to upload it at least for your benefit dude - I dedicate it to your childhood enjoyment of it. ;):)
(I'm amazed you've still got it dude!)

As mentioned, my colouring books are well loved and used :D

I've even got the sorely-lackly-in-story G2 books, and some featuring those mighty Machine Men.

I actually think I had that G2 colouring book on the right as a kid, it was either that one or it looked exactly like that but had Optimus' box art on the cover as opposed to Inferno. :o
Hmm, I wouldn't mind trying to acquire more now; if not just for this project, but if it's one thing I have learnt about G1 Merchandise Books (like colouring books) is that they're nearly impossible to find beyond eBay. :(
(I've turned over countless 2nd/Op shops and haven't found anything for nearly a decade, not that I've actively searched each time though :o)
*1st book uploaded. :D

*2nd Book Uploaded.

ROTF - Jumbo Fun Pack (Bumblebee) *Edited*
*Please note: These images had to be aesthetically modified due to my Scanner not being large enough to scan the whole picture. :o

Cheers Hursti... these are great :)

These are a hit with my daughter (she's 4 yrs old). She didn't even need my help when choosing what colours to use :D

Colouring In.
I did some 'colouring in' today - it was of a page from the 1986 Transformers 'Coloring Book' A Message From Space. The artist was Frank Springer, who also drew #1-4 of the US Marvel Comic (and the Headmasters limited series amongst other things) so I coloured using the legendary palette of Nel Yomtov:

Because Huffer is awesome. And so are Transformers with glossal sensors. And I love the way that Springer pre-dates Pat Lee for impossible Transformers anatomy - unless Huffer has done some serious damage to Starscream's hips.
If anyone else feels like putting up any of your own old or new Transformers colouring pages, feel free to add to the thread!

What tool did you use to colour in with? I assume it's using software (otherwise you have excellent skills with crayons and coloured pencils!)
-
Here's one my daughter coloured in (posted in this thread originally)

I'm going to show her your efforts SS so she has something to aspire to :D

Both are awesome in their own rights! :D:cool:

HAHAHA... that's GOLD! :D I've got this vision of the whole forum collapsing into itself like the house from Poltergeist   :p

Again from Frank Springer's 'A Message From Outer Space', we have 'A Rainy Afternoon For The Autobots':

I love that Gears is reading a giant book and the frown on Bumblebee's rectangular-prismatic face.

Is it really Bumblebee, or Bug Bite in disguise? ;) :p

Enshrouded by light-immune, pitch black clouds; he enacts his powers of necromancy...
...After a delay of almost 2 years, I've finally gotten around to posting this Australian colouring book - so kindly provided by TheShape :); A 7 hour effort worth of scanning & editing, I give you:
(I'm sorry it has taken me SO long to get this done dude :o)
-
Nice stuff mate. Glad i could help :D

Not sure if this the right place to post this, but this week I've tried colouring in some TF pics... first time I've done colouring-in in a bloody long time. The last time I coloured in a TF picture, Transformers RiD was still in stores! And the last time I did it with coloured pencils, G1 toys were still on shelves! So I'm a biiit rusty. I should try printing out some of the scans posted here and colouring them in. :)

That's cool, I remember that very well, I probably still have that book sitting in a box of books from my childhood.

Ooh! - Should the opportunity ever arise in the future and you remember about it dude, I'd love it if you could dig it out & show us some pics of your childhood efforts! :D
(I suspect it resides back with your parents though, yeah? ;))
